Felicia
Strength:
cute when clean
Weakness:
1. Should have had several recalls 2. Breaks suck 3. Shocks suck 4. Warranty sucks because they will not find the problem until warranty has expired I Hate this truck. I purchased it because it was cute and looked trendy. I had graduated from college and wanted a new car. I test drove it and fell in love. Well, that has all changed. I have had to take it back to the dealership several times for brake problems (the same problem each time). Part of my concern was the service department. AJ Foyt sold to Sterling McCall and it''s been down hill every since. I had previously purchase two "used" Hondas from AJ Foyt, but unfortuantely Sterling Mccall is not up to par. They could never find out what was wrong with the brakes, on one ocassion they refused to look at them on a Saturday because they only did oil changes, but because it was under warranty they keep it overnight. They fixed it temporarily, but in less than six months I had the same problem again (5 times I had the same problem). Well, Sterling McCall sold to Robbins dealership. The brakes messed up again ( in less than 4 mos), but of course my warranty was up. Robbins had me pay $200 for replacement of hardware because according to them a bolt in the brakes was loose. 7 days later, I had a wreck because the brakes went out. Thank God I was not killed and didn''t kill anyone. My insurance company sent it to another place and it was determined that my master cylinder was no good. What A Joke. The SUV sucks. DO NOT BUY. Not only are the brakes no good, but each time you hit the slightest bump it feels like it is going to fall apart. Similar Products Used: Mazda, Honda |

Strength:
Comfortable, roomy
Weakness:
Uses too much oil; engine light comes on for no reason; things are falling apart. I originally had a 1992 Rodeo. I had a bad wreck in it and the truck withstood the impact great. But this ''97 has been aweful. It uses way too much oil. We have had the head gaskets replaced twice and it is still using over 1 quart every 1,000 miles. The dealer doesn''t know what''s wrong and doesn''t really care. They say they won''t buy anymore used Rodeos because of all the problems. The motor in the driver''s side window has already burned out and the window on the passenger''s side came off the track and smashed. The check engine light comes on when I need to get gas, why I don''t know. We got a lemon but are stuck with it. Similar Products Used: 1992 Rodeo |

Strength:
Overall look of the vehicle outside and inside is appealing.
Weakness:
POOR SAFTEY FEATURES - DRIVER BEWARE Looks good, great overall performance - Very upset that the rear seat belt did not perform in an accident and threw my child out of his car seat. Also, rear spare tire forced additional impact during collision and caused vehicle major repair costs. |

Strength:
Rommy! Breaks and tires... stays in alignment. CD player w/ speakers. Paint job
Weakness:
The ride is too rough, it beats you up! My first SUV, and my return to the large car since my Mini Van. Love the unique color and the fact that the spar tire is now under the car. After 35,000 had to have the Heads replaced, and took deal 3 weeks to get problem fixed. Has never really run right since, and has alot of clicking from the engine. Dealer said he had never seen that happen before. Looks like I lost the head gasket while driving on the highway and engin had metal shavings from heads in it. Built more like a truck than a Mini van. The ride will wear you out. Every bump is maginified or so it seems. Steering has to be corrected constantly and it is in alighnment. Like to burn about a quart of oil between oil changes (I average about 4k between them). Seats are not as comfortable as most cars, especially in the lower back area. My child seat in the back will not stay even and keeps wanting to tip to one side slightly. fire department says just the way the seat is made. The tires are still good after 65k miles and the breaks work great. The vents have poor angles and adjustments. The Factory speaker system is pretty good, and the CD player works well, but have had a few problems that seem to correct themselves if I move the cds around. The keyless entry has almost no range, even with fresh batteries you can only be about 6 feet from the car to lock and unlock. Very roomy seating for front and rear passangers. Strength:
None found so far.
Weakness:
Very expensive upkeep. From day one I have had ongoing problems with the vehicle. The most troublesome one has been oil consumption. I have to add anywhere from 3 to 4 qts. of oil between oil changes. The dealer and Isuzu have not stood behind there warranty even though all test results clearly indicate there is a major problem with my engine. |

Strength:
Powerful, reliable, trouble free.
Weakness:
Goodyear Wranglers, gas eater, have to pull the skid plate to change the oil. I leased this truck and have had it for 4 years, and put 52k miles on it. Initialy I had the goodyear wranglers balanced 3 times, and I''ve had trouble keeping it aligned. Other than that it has performed well and has not been in for any repairs. I don''t understand why the resale isn''t higher. Similar Products Used: Passport |

Strength:
brakes, power, traction, looks, comfort
Weakness:
harsh on bumps, build quality, poor gas mileage I bought this SUV one year ago with 68,000 miles on it. Overall I like the vehicle but think there are many flaws with it. For example after it was only 4 years old the front bumper started to rust. I was shocked to see this on such a new car. I stripped it, primed it, painted it and 9 months later the rust is coming back. Another quality issue I have is with the cheaply built cup holder in the center console. It fell apart because it was built so flimsy. Also, the passenger side visor fell out of its hinge when my friend tried to lower it. ANd the windshield wipers make a terrible noise when in use. On the plus side I would say this car is a good choice in a midsize SUV. I like the brakes, power, looks and overall utility of this car but wish the build quality had been better. The only problem I had in the 17000 miles I''''ve owned it was the check engine light which turned out to be a sensor. |

Strength:
Price. Good cargo room, nice leg room in front and back seats.
Weakness:
Lots of rattles after 3 years of driving, but that is to be expected with a truck frame. Bad resale value - did not rank well on recent Consumer report. The car overall has been great until recently. I just had to pay $521 to get the ABS Module replaced because it would not shut off - a problem someone else also reported. I only have 34.7k miles on the car but was told that I am two months over it being under warranty of 3 years. What crap - they know that it is their defect yet I had to pay a lot of money to repair. I also have problems with the Check Engine light coming on - it comes on every time my fuel gets low, when I fill the tank it goes off. I am very unhappy about paying for something that is faulty because I didn''t drive the usual 12k miles per year to have it break down before the 3 year warranty was up. The dealership admitted that they have repaired probably 10 of the Rodeos at their dealership alone for the same problem - sounds suspicious to me - should be a recall repair. roomy interior, great gas mileage, good engine, strong body, looks great, drives great
Weakness:
none what so ever for as long as i have had it My rodeo is a great machine. It has been through everything and kept going. A bus even hit my front and did nothing. These suv''s can take some real punishment and never stop. As long as i have had it it has had no problem, and i have 108,000 miles on it, and it still runs great. Gas mileage is great on it also. I love my rodeo more then any other vehicle i have owned before. Similar Products Used: nothing like it |

I had heard a lot of good things about Isuzu motors, etc. but not anymore. I put a lot of miles on a car and expect 240,000 plus out of a vehicle. Motor is shot after 118k, engine I am told is a Chevy/GMC motor. Rep at motor place says he has gotten quite a few calls lately for replacement motors. Cost to replace low 4,000. Car was using oil like crazy but no leak. ABS sensor went out at 60k (when I had tires changed). Reading a lot of reviews with same problems, oil consumption & ABS. Has anyone heard of a motor recall relating to the oil consumption? |
