Strength:

Smooth ride Smooth tranny Comfortable seating. 3rd row seating. Optional DVD player. 9 cup holders VTM-4 Visibility Excellent Stereo system Clever Console/compartments Honda quality. Home Link. Dark Gray leather - just beautiful.

Weakness:

Over 30K OEM tires Shifter No auto headlights Need more color selection (want charcoal gray and blue gray available). 16" rims instead of 17" or higher. Would like to get 25/30 miles per gallon (I know wishful thinking).

One of the best midsize SUV! This is definitely one of the best vehicles I have owned. I only considered buying the Pilot or the Highlander. The DVD entertainment center and the 3rd row seating definitely made my decision. I also went with the experts.....CAR & Drivers BEST large SUV of the year. Give it time and it will win more awards. I like the conservative boxy look. The other SUV I would have considered but out my range are Acura MDX and the Lexus RX300 and perhaps the BMW. Had one minor issue but it was to be expected with 1st year model. I am averaging about 18 miles per gallon and my best was 21 miles per gallon. I purchased my Pilot on 8/15 - miles on Pilot is 1,800.

Strength:

Too many to mention

Weakness:

Honest to god, I can't think of any. Even the gas mileage is good for a vehicle this size.

I needed a vehicle with three rows of seats; one that could safely and reliably transport my three children; and drive like a car, not a truck....but perform like a truck on and off road. I found the perfect vehicle. My wife is always a sceptic, but even she will confess that this was a good value for the $.

Used to own a Jeep Cherokee and Pontiac Tran Sport(Montana). Currently drive the Pilot and a CRV. Pilot is the best I've ever owned, by far.

Model Reviewed: Pilot EX-L RES

Strength:

see above

Weakness:

Would have preferred Michelin tires Some dealers are charging over MSRP - look around, you don't have to be taken for a ride! Carpet on back of 3rd row seats tends to rub. Hybrid version would be nice!

This is the SUV I have been waiting for. I researched vehicles for almost a year, and am so glad I did. My experience with my Pilot has been very good. I am getting better than expected gas mileage (18-20 mpg, which for a SUV of this size is good in my opinion), seats are very comfortable, leg room is unbelievable, visibility is better than I had in my previous sedan, my child LOVES the DVD player, doesn't have the "truck" feeling most other SUVs have (smooth ride!), lots of storage areas and cup holders, standard features on Pilot are options on other vehicles which ends up making the Pilot a better value, automatic AWD means I don't have to do anything to kick in the extra help if needed, expected to do very well with crash tests, should be a consumer reports best buy. I could go on and on. If you are considering purchasing a Pilot, don't let someone's negative outlook sway your decision - make up your own mind. Test drive one yourself and see if what I am saying is right or not. Make up your own mind - you are the one who will make the payments and drive the vehicle. I know I made the right decision for myself. The Pilot is exactly what I was looking for.

Strength:

Interior room, manueverability, high clearance, great ride

Weakness:

No standard fog lights, cheap Goodyear tires, no seat memory

I've had my Pilot EX-L for 4 months now and over 3500 miles. I've had no mechanical problems at all. I've heard many people dealing with noise issues, but my Pilot is actually quieter than the Honda Accord I traded in for it. It's got great room, a nice turning radius and is very comfortable. I don't do towing so it has more than enough power for me. I like the styling and I'm happy I bought this SUV.

Strength:

smooth ride, all-wheel drive, storage space, seating versatility, very easy to drive and park.

Weakness:

GoodyearIntegrity tires, ability to move second seat forward to allow more leg room in third seat.

I did extensive research before buying the Pilot and could not find one respected consumer or auto magazine that gave this car a negative rating. In fact, they were all glowing reviews and having owned my Pilot now for over a month, they were not mistaken. This is a fabulous SUV. It looks like truck, but drives like a car. It is a tight, well-made vehicle that has thoughtfully designed controls, oodles of storage space, comfortable seating, lots of headroom, unbelievable A/C system and smooth transmission. I can't think of a better value for the money. It is the ideal SUV. FYI for potential buyers--there are plenty of Honda SUV websites out there that are run by consumers that give you fair and balanced information regarding this car. Do not base your opinion to buy based on the "nightmare" experiences related on this website. Do all of the research and you will feel very comfortable making the decision to buy the Pilot.

I hope some of these reviews are for real..because some of them I believe are being written by a bunch of kids. if you mean to tell me and the public that that this SUV is a lemon I don't believe you.. I know that there are problems but 95% are minor and totally owners point of view, come on! tranmission and electrical problems, replacing tranmission! and now getting legal advise! sorry you must be joking.. I am a very picky person when it comes to my cars, love all my Honda's (GM'S differnet story) If your reviews are true then I am sorry from the bottom of my heart, if they are false, then stop this because it is filtering accross like a virus that Honda might take the heat for and damage the most. take care all...

Strength:

Typical Honda Quality! Fast! Powerfull, Decent MPG 20+ on highways, handles very well for an SUV, interior layout- logical, great storage area, not cutesy, somewhat rugged, loads of room, the subdued styling. Good go on!!

Weakness:

Nothing of ANY significance!

BEST SUV EVER. The Pilot is made at the same plant as the Acura MDX, using all the same major components, for $6000 less. I have 5000 miles on my Redrock Pearl EX-L and I have not had one problem!! It has been a true pleasure! The Pilot is a fantastic vehicle. Besides the MDX, I test drove the Envoy, Highlander, Explorer and Trailblazer. The only one that came close was the Highlander (nice vehicle). However, the Pilot has more room, more power, handles better and costs less!

Strength:

Lots of Interior Space, placement of all the instrumnets, Car like handling, quite engine, adjustable cup holders, Radio volume controls in the steering wheel.

Weakness:

Got to be the RADIO. I got a EX. With extra speakers the quality of sound has lot to be desired. The Door trims at are loose need glueing!!!, out side Looks, Steering feels tight and Leather Quality is satisfactoury.

I bought a Black Pilot. Looks good and drives very well so far. The interior space is unmatched by any other SUV. The Center console between the driver and Front passenger is a wonderful idea and makes you wonder why other havn't thought about this for so long!!!. Pick-up is pretty good. And, the best feature feature I like about the drive is the quiteness of the engine.

Strength:

Great handling, plenty of room for our family of 6. Not a minivan!!

Weakness:

Shift on steering column requires a new habit. No big deal.

Thisis a wonderful vehicle. If I had designed the Pilot myself, this is the very vehicle I would have designed. It is comfortable, well designed, and looks great. It handles well. The second day we had driving rains and winds, and the car performed like a champ.
