Strength:
Price. Value. Engineering.
Weakness:
Rear seat, too small, little legroom for adults. No driver side power seat. Maybe a little underpowered, when compared to other mid-sized SUVs with 8-cyl. Cannot add both Navigation and DVD. No sunroof available. This is the typical Honda deal. Precise detailing, good engineering. Good attention to detail. Looked like it would be tight in the front bucket seats, I was surprised - comfortable and good enough legroom. Similar Products Used: Lincoln Navigator GMC Yukon Ford Explorer |

Strength:
1. Powerfull 2. Nice design 3. Folding 2nd/3rd row seats 4. Quality of Honda
Weakness:
1. Space of 3rd row seat but for those families of 5 it's great and if you once in a while ride with 2 or 3 extra adults kids fit comfortable on the 3rd row seat. Come on, you don't drive with the car full all the time but yet there is the option of the 3rd row seat whenever needed and if not needed fold seat and have a huge space. Great Pilot SUV Comfortable, powerfull good space, nice design, folding 2nd and 3rd row seast is great, nice sound stereo, greate functions, like stereo controls on steering wheel, and inside lights to turn on by individual passengers. Pilot came on time when I needed one and was trying to avoid the purchase of Mini Van or a huge V8 Expedition or Suburban. This is exiting. Hey! What you guys think of the price of 34,000 EX Leather, Alloy rims, and alarm sys. Is it Ok? Similar Products Used: Ford Aerostar (Ugly) |

Strength:
Conservative look, rock solid feel, plenty of pep, decent fuel economy. Kids love the rear entertainment system. Easy to fold seats and use center belt systems. No problems at all so far.
Weakness:
I wish the glass on the rear gate opened separately so long lumber could stick out the back. I don't like the way the windshield washers splash fluid on the hood, which leaves watermarks when it drys. This vehicle is a solid, quiet, comfortable car/truck that has surpassed my expectations in every way. Similar Products Used: Chevy Trailblazer - Honda has it beat! |

Strength:
Good sound stereo, third row seats for kids under 10
Weakness:
1. Not enough room on 3rd row. The Pilot EX-L is a nice SUV type vehicle by Honda. I had considered to by an SUV for the last 2 yrs but I didn't want a monster V-8 Like Expedition or Suburban. When I saw the Pilot I thought this was perfect and got one EXL, Leather, Alarm System, Keyless entry, Alloy Rims, /roof rack. So far no problems and 750 miles only. Strength:
Nothing, perhaps the useless 3rd rows for children and wide design
Weakness:
re-design the whole car, glove compartment needs to be high for more leg room, more gas mileage, better interior design, more leg room in 2/3rd row seats. noisy car for road trip. Gear shift is flimsy. $price ex-leather package.road trip 600mile, I got 12-14city/ 19mpg highway(never got 21mpg and they advertise 22?). Very load road/tire/wind noisy on highway. Noise/squeeks behind dash. Cheap plastic interior. 2nd Row seat is tight, your legs WILL hit the front seat, 3rd row is useLESS, for children under age of 10, or under 5ft adults. Glove compartment hits your legs when you stretch(it is too-low, your feets will never feel the wall, or you will never get to brace yourself with your feet). 4-years of engineer/design and this is what you get from HONDA. Honda Pilot EXL
Strength:
interior design, quiet, comfortable, feels like driving a car
Weakness:
it would be nice if passenger seat also had auto controls, gear shift mechanism is a little funky (when you shift, it slips easily into different gears), miss the auto defrost side mirrors and heated seats my subaru had I love my Honda Pilot. Previously I had a Subaru Legacy Outback for 6 years. It was noisy and underpowered and I had chronic air leaks from the alloy wheels which got corroded in Michigan's salty roads. This is my first big size SUV and I love how powerful, quiet and well designed the interior is. Fun to drive. Easier to negotiate three car seats in than the Oddysey (we tried). The Odyssey did have a bit more pick-up, but I'm willing to trade that in for the increased safety of AWD in the winter. I have 1,000 miles in a mos. on this car and no problems. Mileage with city driving and lots of A/C has been around 15 miles per gallon, not great, but..... Similar Products Used: subaru legacy outback |

Honda Pilot EX
Strength:
Car-like ride, quite and powerful engine, storage spaces and many standard features that other manufacturers charge extra for.
Weakness:
No Sunroof Option The Acura MDX and Honda Pilot were very similar with their car-like ride, space and features. Both of these vehicles were head and shoulders above the others that we tested. We went with the Honda Pilot due to the higher cost of the Acura MDX. In our minds, we could not see paying that much more for the extras that the MDX offered. Strength:
1) The ride is smooth and quiet, and handling is very good. It is reminiscent of driving a nice sedan, though it will remind you it is an SUV in tight curves. That is the nature of the beast. 2. Ergonomics are near perfect, gauges are easily read, and the interior is comfortable and well-though-out with plenty of storage spaces. The seats are very comfortable, and I am six-two, and big guy. I like the metallic looking trim. The gear-shift takes a bit of getting used to, but becomes second nature after a short time. 3)The transmission shifts utterly perfectly. 4) The engine revs at less than 2000 rpms while cruising at 65 mph. It is quiet! 5) This vehicle has one of the fastest acceleration times in it's class, despite the weight. I have found the power to be more than adequate, though it is not a Porsche. 6)The seven speaker stereo system with the subwoofer is nice, and my kids love the DVD entertainment system. The fact that the adults in front can listen to the stereo while the kids in back listen to a movie over the headphones is great on trips. 7)The style is plain, but tasteful. That is deliberate. The looks will not grow tiresome over time.
Weakness:
1. No sunroof available. 2. No standard fog lights. Hey, nothing's perfect, but, for the money, the Pilot beats the daylights out of the competition. I just purchased an LX model with the leather package, and DVD entertainment center. The vehicle has been driven on two family vacations already, and we have racked up over 3000 miles. The performance of the vehicle thus far has been flawless. Frankly, it is too early to start talking about long-term reliability. The fit and finish seems to be excellent, and the paint is perfect. The ride of the vehicle is similar to a car, which makes sense, as it is a cross-over ute. The quiet ride of the Pilot is surprising. I purchased the vehicle because I wanted the best SUV in it's class on the market, and I understand things like long-term quality, fit-and-finish, and resale value. Unlike the Big Three, Honda has a proven track record on this. I am not one to throw away over 30 grand on something that will not be worth half that in a couple of years, and that will look and feel old within that same time frame. If the Pilot is like other Hondas, it's true beauty will shine after five years when it still performs like the day it was driven off the lot. Similar Products Used: My first SUV! Honda Pilot EX
Strength:
Same as the below posts. Really like how it accelerates compared to the CRV. Very quiet.
Weakness:
Wish it got a little better gas mileage for my daily 70 mile commute. I bought my Pilot on 2 June and now have almost 8000 miles on it. I have driven the LA freeways at 80 MPH and 8 MPH and find it runs smoothly, is quieter than my 99 CRV-EX I traded, and is a great vehicle. Also, I have taken it up on the back dirt roads of the Sierra's and it handles fine in minor 4WD situations. I do not want nor expect it to be a backwoods champ, I wanted something that would handle the occasional rough roads yet handle fine on the freeway. So far, no problems with anything. It works as advertised. My Pilot per VIN was #3962 so it was one of the early ones manufactured. LX
Strength:
Honda/Acura: what else do you want in your SUV?. Comfortable. Interior design.
Weakness:
Heavy. Gear shift location like a minivan. Poor sound system on the LX model. Great SUV, very comfortable, 8 inches of ground clearance, same engine as the Acura MDX, quiet interior, big cargo space, good brakes, and much more. I feel very safe in this car and I haven't had any problems. If something goes wrong I'll be very happy to write about it.
