Strength:
Sure footed in nasty weather, goes where I point it. Easy to configure, passengers or cargo. Very quiet in standard mode Pulls my trailer with ease
Weakness:
On 3rd set of rear hatch struts, Honda Tech's suggest up to 3" of droop is normal ! I'm 6'-1" & one of my new vehicle criteria was to be able to stand under the rear hatch without bonking my head. I used to be able to do that. "Butt" dimples in leather seats. clock used to loose 2 minutes a week, dealer changed, now only looses 1 minute a week (my $20 Casio is much more accurate Where's the coat hooks? Have to use a hanger over the hand grips, that also house the interior lights. Very easy to activate the light & run the batttery down. Very noisy with canoe/kayak/surfboards on roof. Price once you add fog lights (std on Murano), trailer hitch Seldom achive Transport Canada mileage rating, dealer spent more time explaining how I can't, rather than how I can ! Have put 48,000 Km on my Pilot in a variety of conditions, whiteout snow storms to cruising sandy beaches. Has only let me down once, dead battery due to small interior light activated. the second issue is the fact that Honda seem to care that it's a problem !!! I'm disappointed by two things. 1. When driving 40 mph or higher and 1 or both rear windows are opened it sounds and feels like the vehical is coming apart. The turbulence inside the vehical is so bad that it actually hurts your ears. |

Weakness:
Plastic interior scratchs easily Honda add-ons can run up the price Sunroof option would have been nice Another happy Pilot owner here. This is a great vehicle - plenty of room, smooth ride, powerful yet economical drivetrain, & a decent stereo to boot. I have put 4K miles on my black beauty now and she is getting 17.5 city / 21 highway for gas mileage. Super quiet with the windows up - when I test drove one, I almost turned the key & the salesman said "It's already running...". Got mine from Canada - so it has daytime running lights and heated seats standard - and $2K less! Similar Products Used: Jeep Cherokee '92 Chrysler T&C '99 Toyota Avalon '97 |

Strength:
Seems roomier than my Toyota Sienna but MUCH better on a two track or in snow.
Weakness:
Gas mileage but better than comparable SUVs. My pick of SUVs at the Detroit Auto Show in January. Bought it one week later. A power steering hose had a kink and the fog light cable got cut due to a bad installation. Dealer service for these was prompt and courteous. Similar Products Used: This is my 7th Honda auto. |

Ride, drive, all that stuff is great.
Weakness:
Paint chipping Is it me, or does the paint chip from the painted trim far too easily? Anytime a door has come in contact with the trim, the paint chips off revealing the black surface. Same with a rock coming from back tires to rear painted trim - paint chips. Similar Products Used: Honda Civic, Accord |

Honda Pilot EX
Strength:
The 8 passager, 4 wheel drive,Pilot has a very quiet power packed V-tec 6cyl engine (the air stream from the air conditioner vents when set to high produces more noise than the Pilot's engine at idle. The seats are comfortable and can easily accomadate a 6ft 200lbs body front row and middle row. The third row seats are best suited for children.
Weakness:
The 5 speed automatic transmission shifter on the stearing colar is difficult to manualy down shift. In comparison my 99 Honda Accord EX 4cyl is silky smooth to manualy down shift using it's 4speed automatic stick in the middle console. My Pilot EX with tow package purchaced Dec-02 performance has been admirable. Tho, for the $33K price a few items that should be standard such as Fog lights,a moonroof, and CD/MP3/WMA player are not standard or optional. Weakness:
Gas Mileage - maybe after break-in it will get baetter - now get 17-city 21 Highway. Need to add power adjustments to passenger seat Great Vehicle - traded in a 2001 ML 320 also had a 98 ML 320 - both were terrible. Love the Pilot - very comforable, good visibilty and well thought out storage. Engine is powerful enough and I like the SOUND ! All my friends who see it love it. At first I thought the gearshift on the column was starnge but now I love it - with the storage it gives me on the floor. To everyone complaining about no sunroof - I never used the one in the ML so9 I don't miss it. Similar Products Used: ML 320 Toyota Highlander |

.......passing power is acceptable
Weakness:
engine sound cheap mirror motors service quality price exterior styling Okay lets start off on a positive note. The vehicle is quiet and refined although unfortunately the high pitched-squealy engine is still audible with all windows down. The Honda Pilot is nothing to brag about. The exterior is bland, boring and bloated. You definitely do not stand out in a crowd, and actually, it blends into an empty lot. I was given the Pilot as a company car because we had purchased 4 Honda Accords and needed something with 3 rows of seats for when customers need transportation. Overall, I am not satisfied with the Pilot. The interior is plush and nice, but there are many cheesy things about this vehicle. First of all, who has heard of a 30K+ vehicle without a sunroof option!? The service quality of the 4 different dealerships which we have tried is apalling. Total lack of politeness and no sign of any professionalism. The left power mirror has stopped working 5 times now which is ridiculous. If I was to pay 30K out of my pocket for a car-based SUV, it would not be the Honda Pilot. |

The first TRUE Honda mid-size SUV ... nuff said.
Weakness:
Back seat for kids only. Little cargo space when third row seat is up. I reviewed my Pilot almost a year ago, and gave it rave reviews. As a follow-up, a year later, the performance and reliability of this vehicle have been perfect.?xD;?xA;It is sad to see that the idiot who was bombarding this sight almost a year ago with messages attempting to discredit positive reviewers is still here (like a cancer).?xD;?xA;Those who have looked at this site in the past might remember him as "Andy", and remember his drivel. He had the same line then, as he seems incapable of even writing something new and original.?xD;?xA;Ralph, Homer, Andy .... same thing = idiot with no life who has a thing against Honda.?xD;?xA;It amazes me that some geniuses here actually have the time to read through the mounds of positive reviews of this vehicle to unearth some bit of negativity about it. Whose payroll are they on??xD;?xA;Judge this vehicle for yourself. Read legitimate reviews (like Consumer Reports), take it for a test drive, and talk to REAL owners. The vehicle sells itself. It is a real Honda, not a relabeled Isuzu (thank God, they killed the black eye that was the Passport).?xD;?xA;By the way, I was accused of being a Honda employee, and of being one of several people (amazing what you can learn about yourself on a car review site). ?xD;?xA;I do not work for Honda, and would be glad to prove what a lieing POS this guy who is accusing folks here is accusing reviewers of being Honda employees and of being one person.?xD;?xA;Feel free to contact me via Email (dyoung@wi.net). ?xD;?xA;I invite Andy/Ralph/whatever to, but doubt he has the guts.?xD;?xA;I purchased my Pilot at Frank Gentile Honda in Racine, WI. I can give VIN numbers to prove it. ?xD;?xA;?xD;?xA;Don't let the twits who have an agenda scare you away from the best mid-size SUV on the market. Similar Products Used: My first Honda SUV. Won't be my last. |
