Strength:
lots of vehicle for the $$, great looks and driving ability, lots of cool stuff, lots of room, LOVE the heated seats, I''m spoiled for life!
Weakness:
-don''t like the location of the cup holders and could have a little more storage area (there''s no place to keep a CD case, but a 6 CD player is standard-who designed that???) -The ''99 doesn''t include memory for the seat settings. -Maybe I''m just used to my little cars, but it seems like I''m guzzlin'' gas like crazy. I have to fill up with gas once a week, and I don''t drive but a few miles per day. I don''t think the gas mileage is too bad compared to other SUV''s so it must just have a small tank? I have just recently acquired my Envoy, which was a lease return, but I am already very happy with it. The previous reviews I have read here scare me a little-hope I don''t have as much trouble. My previous vehicles were all cars, so maybe I just love the Envoy in comparison to them, but I can hardly find anything wrong with it, especially for what I paid. I can''t beleive this car is 3 years old. It drives great-lot''s of get-up-and-go. It''s great in the snow, but I can''t wait to take it camping and 4x4ing in the summer. Gotta try out that tow package! I love the looks-outside and in, I feel very luxurious. The standard 6-CD changer with Bose speakers is a definite bonus! I can''t beleive all of the bells and whistles this baby comes with! Including it''s own air pump for the tires, and a back seat stereo. Hope they aren''t there just to cover up all the problems people have posted. Similar Products Used: I''ve driven several other SUV''s owned by other people-never have owned one. |

Strength:
The interior design and the way it handles is great. Can''t say much about the ride. At this point, I can''t remember!
Weakness:
I can''t seem to get my mirrors and seats to stay in one setting. Even after I''ve programmed it. Everytime I get in, they seem to have moved! My first car I ever owned was a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire. Worse decision I''ve every made. I took it in for service at least 14 times the first year I owned it. I decided to give Honda a try and purchase a 4 door Civic. I had the Civic for 4 years and never took it once in for service! I was ready for an SUV so I looked into the Chevrolet Trailblazer and the GMC Envoy. I went for the Envoy and paid a pretty penny for it. I''m really starting to regret my decision because after only one week of owning it, I had to have it towed from my house and taken in for service. At first I thought it was the transmission, but the service department at Goodson (1 day later) said the fan clutch needed to be replaced. It''s been a week now since I''ve been without it and wouldn''t you know...they stuck me in a PONTIAC loaner! Similar Products Used: 96 Pontiac Sunfire; 98 Honda Civic |

Strength:
Looks great!
Weakness:
Engine trouble with less than 10,000 miles (sticky lifter). This thing sounds like it is going to throw a rod when you first start it or worse explode. Door seals pealing off. One major recall of 2 that have occurred over the past year. This vehicle must have been designed by a mega-geek. It is so gadgety, you won''t want to drive it! Now I get it: that was the point of the design - get frustrated with the gadgets and therefore, it will never leave the drive way. If you are looking for a vehicle with smooth styling, a luxury interior and sound mechanics...keep looking! The 2002 envoy is sure to disappoint. This vehicle can only be described as nostalgic for that ticking lifter from your old ''64 Mercury with 150,000 miles. You will step back in time when car manufacturers couldn''t give a rats pa toot about quality as the door seals peal off, and recalls are announced. And yes like a museum piece, you will only want this car to sit and not be driven out of shear terror of what will fall a part next. Nice job GMC; I should have bought the SAAB 9-5 or Toyota Highlander. Similar Products Used: None |

the fake interior wood, gas mileage Probably the best vehicle I have ever purchased. I do not understand the few bad reviews here. I have had nothing but good luck with this vehicle. My friends are envious and I couldn''t be happier with my choice. Similar Products Used: None |

Feel very unsafe (2 recalls and a bad computer, etc... OnStar called us in the car telling us to pull over... the dealer basically told me I was lying and then later apologized. Thanks... that''s really what I am looking at hearing after initially wanting to pay over $40k for a truck. I can''t believe the insane lack of satisfaction and customer service I have received. I bought my car in April 2001 and 4 days later it was in the shop for several items, the first being a major recall. The dealer paid me one payment of about $750. It went in again for another recall... and then again for a bad computer... and several times for bad alarm and/remotes... and again for bad window switches... and again for squealing (more than once)... and it still squeals (after bringing in twice + road testing and on and on. 10 times in total and it''s a NEW VEHICLE. On August 14 they promised me 4 months payments AND an 72mo/100kmi/$0 deductible extended warranty ($3050)and Smart Care ($500). I can''t even start with the drama I have had. The car has been in the shop several times AFTER they offered this settlement (which was until that point) and then the real drama beings, to make a long story short I stopped paying it (because I didn''t have it - something I would not have done again had I the option to go back) and my car was taken from the dealer. 1 week later (2 months after they promised the $ which I thought was paid to GMAC) I got the check. Lotta good it did. I have since run up thousands of dollars of my legal fees, $500 of GMAC legal fees, $360 in impound fees, $15 to the Dublin po po, ~$500 in storage fees (which they failed to tell me or my now ex-lawyer about), and on and on. And this is only to salvage my credit and get back into a car which I have NO DESIRE to drive anymore. I loved the styling and power but the drama (even far before the repo) is not at all worth a fraction of the grievances I have been put through. A ton of my friends have GM vehicles and have had for the most part good things to say... this is not one of those experiences. Similar Products Used: Honda CRV, Nav, 4-Runner, Expedition, Denali |

this vehicle should have been tested much more extensively before putting it on the marked. too many recalls. looks good, very stylish. i should have read the reviews for this vehicle. i have nothing but trouble with dealership, vehicle and gmc. my vehicle was recalled less than 24 hours after sell and gmc or dealership would not buy it back. they rented me a ford expedition to drive while my gmc was in the shop!!! this vehicle has had too many problems from engine just quitting to recalls on the console that had to be repaired/replaced and in the shop three different times. never buy a vehicle the first year it is on the market. Gas (what do you expect its a SUV) 15 mph. This is GREAT. Worth every penny. This is a powerful (270hp) SUV that is very quiet and Extremly confortable to drive. I bought the SLT with the sound Bose Sound system. It sound great. I drove them all over a six month period, but this was the BEST at any price. Don''t waste you money on a BMW, get more than a Ford. Well I think it would protect me in accident.
Weakness:
I am from Poland and is like a Lada that I had there. Always problems. It very noisy and use too much gasoline. It broken down few times and once on the highway. Leather seats have very strange smell like too much chemicals spilled when they made leather. This is worse car I ever own. We really are very unhappy with the car. It has broke down a few times already and once when I was on the highway. The leather seats have a strange smell like the cow still dying. The gas milage is just terrible I think I just get like 12 miles to the galon. The dealer was not very nice when I brought it back for the problem of the oil leaking and I wish I didnt bought this car but got maybe another car more reliable.
