Strength:

Eats beemers for breakfast Gas milage is really not bad at all My insurance is probably lower that his (bwm guy), and I have 4wd (don''t need chains in the winter)

Weakness:

Oh gee I''m sorry...It''s not a beemer

this thing is one of the best SUVs I''ve had in a long time. It pulls anything without any hesitation. It intresting how one tank of gas will actually last me just over two weeks of city driving...Then again it has a diesel in it. What I like about this truck re thing that the BMW writer more than likely never thought about. Like being able to pull a trailer that weighs 8800lbs. Something you sure as hell can''t do with BMW 328 ci. Or, how about hauling five family members (not including myself), a boat, and a bunch luggage across country. In other words, this vehicle or any like and F series, silverado series, or dodge ram are more ingineered for industrial... Not to mention that America only gets about 10% of its oil from the middle east.. 10% from Mexico, 10% from Canada, 50% from the American homeland, 10% from the dominican republic, and about 10% total from various places in africa.. If we wanted to, we could cut off the middle from selling us oil except for ONE reason... Europe (the continent in which BMWs are made) and Japan ( The Country that make Hondas and toyotas) get about 50-70% of their oil from the middle East. If we pull out, their gas prices sky rocket. That''s the only reason why we still buy from the middle east. Another reason is because I like blocking people like the person driving the beemer on th freeway. Plus we both know that if one of were to hit the other one, the excursion would not only take the bmw in half, but also run it over. I don''t have anything against bmws or people who drive them. People just need to realize vehicles are designed a certain way for a reason. Think before you write... Buy something that stands for America??? What, like a german built car?? No! an American built truck. ( you might notice the ratings at the top of the screen) Now excuse me, I have to go to my sons High school and help put their music stuff in the back of the truck.

big towing!!, good road confidence, original, kids can screem 4 meters from your ear. buetiful sound with engine mods.

Weakness:

needs bigger standard wheels.

The Excursion is a dream to drive!!! But a nightmare on gas!! and i love it.. I work in the trucking industry and as soon as i heard about the excursion i needed to have one. i imported my very own, just like my suburban 2500 but that thing just stays in the garage. the excursion is much bigger and if it came to it i would rather spend an extra $20 per week on gas and crash in the excursion than save that money and crash in the suburban and so would my family. thanks FORD FOR A REAL MANS TRUCK!!!!!

It''s a Ford:)

I completely love my Excursion. My father has a Suburban and it can''t compare to my Ford. It''s roomy, I''ve never had to have anything fixed or replaced, and it tows our 31 foot travel trailer wonderfully. I knew before buying it that it was going to be hard on gas so I can''t even complain in that department.

Strength:

Tons of room . great power curve. great mpg.

Weakness:

should not even offer this truck with v-8 or v-10

If your going to tow with this truck you cat beat it!! It is very well balanced and has a strong built feel. I intalled a programmer and it has all the power in the world. I think all the people that have had problems with there excursion ,is because they have not ordered theres with a powerstroke. It gets at least 17mpg-22mpg that is great!! I have owned suburbans for years and they cant even think about touching this truck!! After driving a excursion a suburban is like driving a mid-size car.

Desiel Power Ride MPG

Weakness:

Have not found any yet!

I purchased a Diesil in my excursion. I also installed a new less restrictive muffler with dual exhast. I also installed a SUPER CHIP to Add 50 more H.P. but to mostly obtain better gas milage. We love this TRUCK! I reaches 16 MPG in town and 22-24 Highway. Folks this is a truck so don''t exspect a minivan or car suspension ride. We pull our 2001 25'' Toy box trailer (6,000 Pds.)behind this machine and do not even know it exsist. We baby our vehicles and exspect this vehicle to last us at least ten years or more. This vehicle rides like glass on the highway and our kids love watching video''s from our T.V during long road trips to the moutians. We love the power of the disiel. This motors weight may be why we have a great ride. We have had Suburbans in the past and will never go back! The susburbans have no power unless you want 5 MPG''s from them. The suburban''s have a weak suspension that always needed to be beefed up. The susburban''s we had in the past after about 2 years had terrible rust, paint, squeeks and rattle problems.

DIESEL,LOTS OF ROOM,GREAT FOR TOWING,FUN TO DRIVE!!!

Weakness:

Firestone tires (changed),Front springs to weak for diesel engine.(I added extra ply $100.00),Rear shocks leaked at 4000 miles.(I added custom made air shocks for towing $78.00)

I think this is the best TOW vehicle I ever owned.I only had to change A few things around to fit my needs.(explained in weaknesses). Don''t look for a car like ride in a heavy duty truck, like this!! I use mine for everything from takeing the kids(5) out, towing my boat(5000lbs),to driving to work.My wife wants another one for her! As for performance and mileage my diesel could pull a house, and still get 16 mpg! I''m getting(22mpg.hwy)(16mpg.cty.)

It is able to haul 10,000lbs so towing a little 2,500 is no biggie for this monster. The room for this famly of over 6 footers.

Weakness:

None

I feel like GOD in my suv. People seem to get out of the way very fast when you are coming at them at 80 mph. I have had only one problem with this thing and thats a oil leak. Other than that I would buy only another Exursion that is if they can make a better on than the one I have.

Strength:

This vehicle has the strength that I just could not find in any other truck. SAFETY,SAFEST,HEAVIEST. This is a case where in the real world, size does matter. My brother was killed by a drunk driver twenty years ago, and there is not a day that goes by that I do not think about him and what we would be doing if he were still here with us. This is the main reason I have always had to have the biggest and safest vehicle on the road, in the real world.

Weakness:

The one weakness that I can think of is the firestones. Even though I have been told that they are different than those on the explorer, I still have a little doubt in the back of my mind. I might take my return check and buy Michelins.

Iwould have to say that I have never been in a safer vehicle that can fit in a standard garage. You drunken drivers best stay clear of my 7500 pound beast. I haven''t had any problems with the truck to speak of. The firestones are working just fine. I was told that because these are actual truck tires, I should not worry about any tread seperation. They are made in a different way than the car tire that is put on the explorer. Other than that concern, it rides great on the highway and of course once you take her off road, it can get a little rough. But, what do you expect. It is a 3/4 ton truck that you can load up to the gills and still be able to pull practicly what ever you want it to. The gas mileage is good considering the size and what it can haul. I would say it gets 11 around town and 15 on the highway. I don''t mind paying a little more for gas knowing that my family of 7 are alot safer than being in a little suv that is only a tad better in mpg. Plus you cannot beat the comfort of a full size truck. My favorite truck before this one was my 1987 Chevy Suburban. The new Chevys are not even built as strong as the older version. So, how can I compare the new carlike suburban to the trucklike Excursion? I really can''t. I will probably have this truck for at least as long as I did my 87 suburban, which was 14 years. I am going to enjoy driving out west this summer for four weeks. I can''t wait!
