Strength:

Best looking suv out there. Love the pulling power, (we tow a boat). Fully loaded vehicle, love the options. 3rd seat is a plus.

Weakness:

transmission, sensor lights, wears tires fast, and a gas guzzler,(that i can deal with)!

I have had this vehicle for about 16 months. After having the suv for 4 months, had to replace the transmission. Now the abs and brake light keep coming on. The dealer(colonial)terrible service, couldnt get a code out of the computer, so they reset the computer after having it for a week, as soon as i pulled away there goes the abs and brake light again. turned around, went back and showed them and said now they will order the part needed. A week goes by, since they are not a dodge dealer, i now have to take my car back to them to write down some #'s in order to order the part. Did that, and now its been a week and i havent heard anything yet! I am so disgusted with the dealer more than the suv.

LOOKS!!! POWER AND COMFORT/ROOM

Weakness:

I am not going to say gas milage

I have to admit after reading some of the reviews here I am concerned about the build quality of the Durango. But I have checked some other SUV'S and it is not much different. You have a manufacture that makes 100,000 + vehicles and your bound to run into some problems. However back to ours. I purchased the Durango for two reasons.First,my wife just had to have it! Second, after looking and pricing the others it was the best deal for what it offers. It is loaded with leather, heated seats, infinity sound system etc... list 36350.00 payed 28700.00.I have to admit I enjoy driving it! Great seating, handling, power and probably the quietest vehicle I have ever owned. We had a 2001 Aztek prior to this that cost us 26500.00 thankfully we leased it and it was not too costly to trade.I am hopeful that Dodge is making this SUV better as each year passes. My wife looks for any reason to drive it!So for now I will rate it a 5+!!!

Strength:

Great look, stance, handling, ride and well timed power.

Weakness:

Not great on gas, but you don't go out and get a machine like this if your going to worry about gas mileage. It gets 16ish to the gallon with a 25 gallon tank. Never go below half a tank and your pocket doesn't really feel it.

I have been in love with the Durango since day 1. I finally bought one and I was not dissappointed at all. Love the ride, love the tough and rugged look and especially love the power. The 4.7 Magnum is quite peppy and when I need to move, I move. Plenty of accessories available for it as well. Buy one if you can, in the past Dodge had some issues with the Durango, but in the new SXT model seems they got it all together.

Strength:

Comfortable and stylish looks.

Weakness:

Definite problems in the front suspension, weak brakes (not enough grabbing power) and could use a little more pep from the motor. And I'm sure everyone can agree about the bad gas mileage.

Was happy for the 1st year. Regret not researching the type of vehicle 1st! First, the rear latch doesnt work. Luckily, when I upgraded to an Alpine Alarm, we noticed that there was a faulty latch...right before Xmas! Second.. Front suspension is aweful! At 30K, the upper and lower ball joints were gone! Replaced upper control arms (stock) and replaced the lowers with DJM 2" lower control arms to see if the engineering differed any. The vehicle definitely handled better being lowered all the way around but 4 months later...same problem. Now that I have been researching this, every message board has shown the same suspension problems with or w/o modifications! I will replace them once and for all and get rid of the vehicle!

Strength:

Power, looks, value

Weakness:

Gas mileage and AC.

Great SUV with all the options that you could want. Performance and handling are just what we wanted. Gas mileage is a problem, but didn't expect to get great mileage given engine size and power. Greatest problem is the Air Conditioning which sucks big time. If you use the vehicle in town for short trips in 100+ temps, forget ever getting cool. Dealer blames the AC design from the manufacturer and has given up with doing anything about it. His solution, live with it or arbitrate with Dodge!

Sounds great!

Weakness:

Way to many problems.

This SUV pings and knocks like crazy! I have run 94 oct. and it still pings. Dodge's answer is to flash the PCM (computer) and retard the timing giving me less HP/TQ than the regular 5.9. Even then you still have to run 92+ oct gas. Unreal! Never again Dodge! Hello GM or Ford.

The Engine Performance and it's the Best looking SUV on the road, doesn't compete with anyother Vehicle out there!

Weakness:

At first I was getting (14.4mpg average)then I had the Flow Master put on it and now I get 19.4mpg average. Gets very good gas mileage. I had the Flow Master put on the first Durango also and it got the same in average around 19.4 mpg after having the Flow Master put on it.

I have bought my second Durango 4x4 in the past 2 years and love it. They are great in performance, drives smooth, looks great and handles great. One tough SUV. I have never had any problems with it at all. I wouldn't have anyother SUV.

Weakness:

Leather interior could be nicer leather. Gas Mileage Resale Value

Bought the Durango because my wife thought most other SUVs looked like mini-vans. So far I have enjoyed the car. Captains chairs are comfy like the leather chair in my TV room. Looks are the beefiest among SUVs - I feel like a guys driving this SUV and not a minivan mom. 4.7L drives nice but prefers 89 octane instead of the 87 octane. Only problem I've had so far is a fit/finish problem with the ashtray. Everything else over the past 14 months has been great.

Power, third row seat, spacious, smooth transmission

Weakness:

Reliability, poor driver visibility, lousy gas mileage

Bought new at dealer. Great power, but problems from the start: wont start in cold, poor mpg, front power windows died (both), rear diff leak, tape deck broke, stalled twice at idle, rear brake clatter...all within first year. Like the third row seat and drives fairly smooth. Loads of space.
