I love the car
Weakness:
Gas guzzler Anyone had problems with there door locks? Our drivers side rear door lock went out and now it makes a funny noise everytime we lock it. A funny thing... we were in the Disneyland parking lot in our other car and in front of us was the same Durango that we just bought and when they got out of there car to lock it, it made that same annoying noise. So I'm just wondering if anyone else had any problems like that. We also had the passenger rear window go out but luckily the dealer fixed it for us before we took it home. Good Power, I love the leather
Weakness:
Pillars between door and windshield sometimes hinder sight. Boy that leather gets hot! I Love my durango. I ahve had it for almost 80000 miles and with just normal maintainance(sp) it has done wonderful. Switched the motor oil to full synthetic at 75000 just to be safe. Smog pump has started to make a little noise but i'll replace it when it quits. If everyone would keep up complete and i repeat COMPLETE servicing then troubles would be greatly reduced!! You can't just change the oil and hope the vehicle is in good shape. Regular servicing of the trans, differentials, coolant, and other various systems is required. Similar Products Used: none |

Looks great, more vehicle for the money.
Weakness:
Too light in the rear end, maintenance department is lacking skilled technicians who are only as good as the diagnostic equipment they use. My vehicle was a special order that had to be built on a Monday or a Friday! Upon receipt the fog lamps had to be replaced. Since then (less than 1 yr) the driver side window motor was replaced, and the wiper on the tailgate would come on all by itself. The following year, a head gasket had to be replaced in the engine, six months later, I lost all my antifreeze. I am beginning to have transmission and engine problems. Best advice to any potential customer... BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY!!! You will most likely be using it. Similar Products Used: GMC Jimmy |

POWER and RESPONSIVENESS.. MERGING onto Hwy is THE BEST I'VE DRIVEN..SUV has remained running like new with very little maintenance -3rd ROW SEAT!!
Weakness:
One of the power windows in the back stopped working. Other than that.. nothing from my personal experience. Owned 2000 SLT for 3 YEARS - almost ZERO mechanical problems..one was a sensor which didn't affect operation of the vehicle, the other was a squeaky belt -NO BREAKDOWNS.. MOST RELIABLE VEHICLE I'VE OWNED - FOREIGN OR DOMESTIC Similar Products Used: I buy a new car every 2-3 years.. this was my 4th SUV and it was the BEST.. I test drove others when I decided to get another SUV and bought another DURANGO!! YOU GET THE MOST FOR YOUR MONEY HERE!! |

Power,Comfort and LOOOKS GREAT!
Weakness:
Gas HOG but what do you expect from a 4x4 and seatbelts up front. I am having a bit of a problem with getting my front passanger window to go up with the driver side button and pass. button but if I leave it alone for a few mins it will then work. Also I was told that my bushings were bad and needed to replace them that it will just be annoying more then harmful. But brother in law had the same noise and it was his ball joints sounds like a VERY squeaky bed.Seat belts up front are a pain to get off I would love to just cut them up and throw out the window so I dont have to deal with anymore. Other then these little problems all is great. Im just a bit scared from reading others that I might have the same problems. Chances you have to take with buying vehicles though Similar Products Used: 1994 Mustang (my BABY) 1990 Jeep Wrangler (hubbys baby) FUN to drive I love it I want to trade the Durango for his Jeep. |

TOO MANY TO LIST. SUSPENSION, POWER WINDOW PROBLEMS, BRAKE ISSUES. WHERE DO I START? STARTING AT 50,000 MILES, EVERYTHING WENT DOWNHILL. THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR LOCKS BURNT OUT(NEEDS A NEW MOTOR). THE POWER WINDOWS WENT OUT AT 30,OOO. HERE'S THE WORST: THE TIE RODS AND JOINTS WENT OUT, REPLACED AT $900. THE FRONT IS TOO HEAVY TO HANDLE ALL THE WEIGHT AND THE ENGINE BEING SO BIG. MY POWER STEERING HAS A KNOCKING NOISE ALL THE TIME. BRAKES HAVE BEEN SQUEAKY SINCE DAY 1. MY SISTER HAS A 99 ALSO, SHE NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION AT 40,OOO MILES. THEY TRIED TO TELL HER IT WAS HER FAULT BECAUSE OF NOT KEEPING UP WITH MAINTENANCE. TOO BAD SHE HAD PROOF AND THEY STILL WOULD NOT COVER IT. SHE PAID OVER 3,000 FOR IT. I WILL NEVER BUY A DODGE AGAIN. WHAT A MONEY PIT! Similar Products Used: HONDA ACCORD, CHEVY BLAZER, JEEP WRANGLER |

Nothin you wouldn't expect from a REAL truck! This is a really nice SUV. You get looks like you are in a sports car. Sounds awsome, one of the fastest and most powerful SUV's. If you want a real SUV, not one that a soccer mom would drive around this is the thing to get. The only problem I have had with it that I had to pay for was the Air Conditioner, but you want the windows down so everybody can see you in this SUV anyways!!
