AC system This is an update of my review. This was the fourth Chevy product my wife and I have owned in 34 years and we have NEVER got up to 60,000 miles with the AC. With the horrible experience we had with our '84 Caprice Station Wagon, I vowed to never buy another GM product. However, the Trailblazer met all our needs for power, turning diam., and interior ergonomics. This summer in Bar Harbor, Maine, the AC went out at 59,500 miles and the battery went out at 60,000 miles in Cape Cod. Buying another GM product was a gamble -- and we lost. This summer, after replacing the AC condensor and the battery, we traded it in for a Dodge Grand Caravan SXT. We needed another van for travel and the "Employee Pricing Plus" deal was too hard to resist. I have posted that review and will update it in the future. |

4WD is terrible, Brake lights fail, Electrical problems, Stereo stoped working. If I was to sum this truck up in one word, it would be BAD. I regretted buying this truck about a week after I purchased it and hated it the whole time I had it. First off the dealership was horrible. The car came dirty with grease marks and two rips on the headrest. Shortly thereafter the brake light dilemma began. Left side lights would go out and then right side. Replaced bulbs and module and a few months later they are out again. This continued for two years on and off. It was in the shop at least 8 times for just this! I finally took the car to Robert Chevrolet in Hicksville and they fixed after two visits. This is a much better dealership but unfortunately for them they sell Chevy’s. Next the 4WD problem. The truck would indicate that the 4WD is engaged but upon further inspection only the rear wheels are spinning. The system failed a total of 5 times over a three year period. Each time the car was in the shop for anywhere from 3 to 10 days. I looked like an idiot up at a ski resort sliding all over the place in my 4WD truck. Without the 4WD in snow the truck is almost impossible to control. I also had numerous electrical problems. Battery drains down due to a short somewhere in the electrical system. Modules, fuses, relays, circuit boards are replaced and problem still occurs. Alternator, Battery terminals and cables are replaced and problem still occurs. Finally after months of throwing darts at a wall, they found the problem under the rear seat and blamed moisture a the cause. Insinuating that one of my children spilled something on the seat which dripped down into the seat and somehow got into the covered panel below the seat. Even if I believed that to be possible, doesn’t it seem a little silly to house fuse box and electrical circuits under the rear seat. I have two small children and this is just one of the reasons I never felt comfortable with them driving in the car. The stereo also had various problems. Tape deck stopped working. Left channel stops. The demon inside would changed the stations at will (actually some sort of short in the steering wheel) I would strongly suggest that anyone considering this truck look at other comparable vehicles like the Durango or the Explorer. Both are much better cars and far more reliable. Similar Products Used: Explorer, Durango |

GM customer service, including being lied to by the service dept. at Bob McGuire Cheverolet in Bordentown, NJ. 4-wheel drive engaging on it's own at highway speeds Electrical system problems ball joints going out Stereo doesn't work rear wiper stopped working winshield wiper pump seat heater doesn't work On Star stopped working Currently in the shop again for transmission problems Basically, this vehicle has been a $30,000 piece of crap This is absolutely the last time I will ever purchase a GM product.Besides the vehicle being the biggest piece of junk I have ever owned, the dealership we bought it at turned out to be worthless. Their customer service sucks so we have taken it to at least 5 different dealerships in the 3 years and they have all been horrible. We even called GM and they did nothing. |

Weakness:
brake lights, same as everyone elses; brakes squeaking, electrical issues, driver door panel coming off, plastic bumper flecks paint off at slightest bump I have a love/hate relationship with this vehicle. Love the size, handling, legroom. Hate the brake problem. We bought this vehicle in 2003 to take across the USA. 2 weeks b4 leaving, the airbag module went out.Not another one available in the USA. So, it sat in the garage, I had a Cavilier as a loaner, while they found one..couldn't take one off a TB sitting on the lot. Duh. I told them they better find me something to drive for this 28 day vacation, as good or better than my TB, and they decided they would take one off an existing TB! After replacing the module, someone got the bright idea to see what make the module go..an electrical short behind the 3rd row seats. Since then, my radio intermittently loses sound..not the CD's just the radio. Of course, it won't do it when I take it to the shop. Drove across the USA, 10,000 miles in 28 days. No problems whatsoever..wonderful! About 30,000 miles and dealership changed hands, brakes started wearing so my husband replaced pads. He's pretty talented, so this job was a no brainer. Well, still squeeking..Go to dealershop garage. Oh well, he didn't turn the rotors. Yea, right, but O.K., turn the rotors. Still squeaking. Took back to shop few weeks later. Husband used "cheap pads" , we didn't use OEM pads, so the cheap pads are harder and therefore, sqeak. Service manager "should have used OEM, with the asbestos pads their not as hard. won't squeak". Having a dad who died from asbestos exposure, I know that brake pads no longer have asbestos in them. Took him to the carpet on that..service tech started back-tracking. I said "replace the pads with OEM, and guarantee me no squeaks". Can't do that. No guarantees.Scrapped existing pads to remove coating, shouldn't squeak. Still squeaking. Oh, well. Going to and coming fm church today, children saying " What's that noise? " At first, don't hear anything. Coming home from church, A/C taking a very long..very long time to get cool. Of course, leaving town for the week early in the morning. Finally get cool..not cold. Kids still saying "what's that noise? sounds like a squirell scratching." The Lord only knows..sounds like it needs to be dipped in WD40. We are a dedicated Chevrolet family, and drive our cars forever..got a 1986 IROC Camaro in the garage, a 1992 Silverado, and friend still driving husbands 1984 Silverado sold to him in '92. But, this TB has me seriously thinking about trading, feel sorry for the poor sap who may buy it, and going with a different maker. Weakness:
All the problems I have had had. This is my second trailblazer, 2002 ran great – no problems. The only reason I trade it in was because of the 0% interest. When I bought my 2003 Trailblazer it only had four miles on it and it had many extra features. At 3,003 miles my heater fan would not shut off, even with the key removed. Well, it was 12:00 a.m. and if I had left it like that the battery would have been dead. It was January, the temp. was –15 degrees. I was out there disconnecting the battery. Well, I took it to the dealer and the fuse-circuit board needed to be replaced. Of course they had to order it. I was never so embarrassed to be shutting my heater fan off by pulling the fuse, which was located under the hood. Well, that was the beginning……….. the four-wheel drive would go in automatically while I was driving it. They replaced the switch three times before correcting the problem. My heater fan quit working and had to be replaced, not once, but twice. My taillight quit working and they replace the circuit board, which was a recall. I have had to replace the bulb twice since this has been done on the driver’s side. My oxygen sensor is not working and needs to be replaced; my sway bars all need to be replaced (I wonder if that it is from driving in four wheel driver in the summer, because it automatically went in). My rear window needs to be replaced because the bottom four defrosters are not working (they say it’s because of the weather stripping, but I have only opened that window maybe five times). There is more, but as you can see this is the worst vehicle I have ever owned. It is a true LEMON. The only think good that I did was buy the extended warranty, but that’s not covering everything – I have to fight to get stuff paid for. I will never buy a Trailblazer again! I don’t even think I’ll buy a Chevy. So much for American/Union Made! What a huge disappointment and a huge headache! Similar Products Used: 2002 Trailblazer |

Weakness:
Rides too soft with too much body roll First off I believe this will be a long lasting vehicle but the bugs need to be worked out. I'm glad I decided not to buy a first model year, which is always a bad idea, and I'm glad I didn't buy something with extra electrical crap that isn't needed. 1st problem was service 4x4 light on when shifting from 2hi to A4WD which was an actuator. 2nd problem is when it is -15 degrees the computer adjusting the fuel mixture messes up and runs too rich. I originally thought it was gas line freeze up but isopropol does not help and it is now being worked on. Final problem is the outer rear door trim is a poor design and comes loose. I have a feeling this will never truly go away even though they are replacing it while its in the shop now. Similar Products Used: 2 Rangers F-150 |

Roomier than my ZR2 Blazer, functional yet passenger friendly. Great bottom-end torque. Good brake feel with decent stopping ability.
Weakness:
Overdrive kicks in a little early, making the engine feel like it's "dogging" at 55 mph. Running boards take away from ground clearence. Tire size limits brands and tread styles to chose from. My TrailBlazer now has 29700 miles on it with one problem since new: a flat tire. It's been back to the dealership for all the recalls. The amount of recalls is alarming, but my delaership took care of them ASAP. Runs great and still drives like new. Similar Products Used: ZR2 Blazer Silverado, 1500 Cavalier Z24 |

Can't see out back window well with the third row of seats up. Lots of blind spots. Lots of repairs. This SUV is a waste of money! Would be better off throwing money into the ocean. Have had TB for 18 months. Has been in the shop for repairs 7-8 times. Got stuck in park 3 times. tranny stuck in 1st gear once, doors don't shut correctly. had taillights replaced due to standing water in them. had doors stick shut. etc. Have been told many times that these problems are within normal opperation of the vehicle. They still don't believe that it gets stuck in park. Not at all impressed with this SUV. Please don't buy this thing. Nothing but a nightmare unless you like to sit at the service department waiting for it to be repaired Similar Products Used: 1996 Ford Explorer Sport 1990 Ford Bronco Multiple Chevy S-10's |

Turn Singals not working, Hazard Lights not working, Onstar voice activation not working, Gas Gauge Malfunctioning, Driver Seat Belt Jamming I just had to write another review, I am now at 10,000 and adding to my list of problems with this vehicle. GM and the dealers have been no help whatsoever!!! I am a mother of two and we are a one vehicle family, so to allow my vehicle to stay in the shop for a day is impossible, and they won't give me a loaner unless it is in for over 24 hours. I even offered to sit at the shop until 2:00 till the kids got out of school and was told it was policy that I could not wait. This is ridiculous! This vehicle is a liability waiting to happen ! Below is total list to date of problems with vehicle. Steer clear of this monstrosity by all means!!!! Similar Products Used: 2002 Chevrolet Suburban Z71 |

Read all of the reviews and all of the problems. Had the AC not work one day in Mexico. Fixed iteself. Twice it won't automatically shift down. Again took care of itself. Now it is stuck in Mexico and we cannot get the key out of the ignition. Don't know what that is about and did not see anyone with the same issue. Generally enjoyed this vehicle. Good mileage, good ride and lots of features. Lots of room in the extended version plus the V8 has lots of power. More toys than my Cadillac. Similar Products Used: Chevy Blazer |
