It's a very fun to drive small 4x4, that is actually pretty tough/solid. Great summer vehicle and gets around very well in winter with snow as well. It's also absolutely great on fuel! It is actually capable of some off-roading, even w/ a 4x2.
Weakness:
It has a bumpy ride and has little trunk space. It can get a bit loud at highway speeds but with hardtop is not bad at all. Accel. is slow, and bit slow with a auto trans. on the highway, but still goes 75-80 mph. Interior is rather dull, but on the other hand is very easy to maintain and is durable. Of course if you try to flip this over you probably could, but honestly, only under a very extreme manuever would it flip. For the price, I really cannot complain. So far from 95 to nearly 2001 now, it has given me zero problems; only thing I do is change oil etc... Also very good on fule with 20+ MPG, takes a lot of abuse (even some off-roading done) and could not be more dependable... Auto trans. also shifts nicely. Overall, I am very happy with it. Of course the only downsides are the ride quality, and it being rather slow. When replacing tires get size 215/70 R15 as they are a bit bigger, but fit fine, and gives a more stable ride. I really love this little S.U.V.!!!!! It's reliable. It's fun and cute, and is small enough to get me out of more than one tight scrape. Its breaks are incredible and it picks up speed really good when it's in the mood. The C.D. player and speaker system is really clear and loud. Good on country roads and in the city. Very comfortable and lots of room. An all over good S.U.V.!!!!!
Weakness:
I only hate it when it's windy out. That little thing gets pushed all over the road. Hard to control when the weather is bad The price was a little steep, but I think it was money well spent! Similar Products Used: Tried everything. Love my little Tracker the best!!! |

Great car! Engine is superb! I ony have a soft top but it heats up great in winter. In summer, if you zip down the back window or flip the roof back, the breeze keeps you cool. They hold their value too.
Weakness:
Its a fun car, not made for comfort. The seats don't have enough lower back support. The rear door rusted shut just after I bought it.. the soft top had a leak at the back. I would recommend the tracker to anybody who drives safely. Its not meant to corner on a dime. I found the price was great for the vehicle I bought. I bought it at 166,000km, and it now has 242,000km, and still no major problems! These cars are definitely worth it! Similar Products Used: None |

A great looking vehicle, excellent in the sun, not bad in the snow,(about three weeks in January is when we get snow). A full convertable in the summer makes everything very enjoyable.
Weakness:
Gas mileage could be better. A little underpowered for my liking. Front brakes really suck. I've had them repalced once and am going in again for work. If they could do something about the front brakes would be great. Offering the 6 cylinder for the 2 door convertable would make it for me. As it is right now, I'm hard pressed to find something in the same price range and the same value. Similar Products Used: Ford F150, |

4 Wheel drive and convertable at a CHEEP price. Uses hardly any gas!
Weakness:
I guess a little loud, but thats not a problem I bought a 1994 Tracker for $5000 bucks, and it is well worth it! I mean this vehicle is awesome for the summer, all you have to do is bring down the top! This car has over 100,000 miles on it, and its still running perfect,, its really reliable. Buy this vehicle if you want a low priced "cool" vehicle Similar Products Used: Honda CR-V |

Good fit and finish, features for the money.
Weakness:
Power at times. Use this as our primary family vehicle (2 adlts 1 child). Good features for the money, right there withthe Honda CR-V. A definite improvement on the previous model years- new engine, body style, interior. GM should have renamed this vehicle also. Driving at 40-45 MPH, acts like it can't decide what gear to use. Acts like you are driving in too high of a gear. V6 should have been offered as an option, it is available on the Suzuki version (Vitara). Have had no quality problems, although have gotten one recall for a brake light switch. Similar Products Used: None |

Tracker
Strength:
The Tracker is a fun, cute little car to drive. Great on gas with a 9 gallon tank. It will cost about $10 to fill up. If all you do all day everyday is drive in the city during summer to and from the beach, the tracker is perfect for you.
Weakness:
Ok...slow, loud traffic noise (the soft-top), expensive, low buy back value, the back seat feels like your in jail, safety is a thumbs down (even with the dual airbags), alarm is a must (I want my CD's and player back!) and no trunk space. Let me see. It's slow, loud, gets broken into easily, no backseat space, no trunk space, too expensive, but its cute. Similar Products Used: Nothing compare to the tracker. |

Strength:
More than adequate power with the new 155HP V6. Quiet and very comfortable seating although the front seats are a bit narrow for a 200 pounder. It has all the nice things you want in an SUV, CD player, A/C, power brakes, steering, electric windows, etc. I had 800 pounds of tools in the cargo area coming from Utah to Ca. It got between 18 and 22 MPG. The V6 never even strained when going over all the mountain summits in Nevada. It has nice power, indeed. The road noise from past models was completely absent in the newly designed model for 2001. The sound system and CD player, gauges, heater and other accessories worked flawlessly and the riding on a long trip comfort for a smaller SUV was much better than I expected.
Weakness:
The seats are too narrow, but they are well padded and comfortable. The spare tire was conspicuous when looking out the rear view mirror. But in order to gain the extra cargo space without putting it under the already crowded underside, I suppose that's the only logical place to put it. In a cross wind, the Tracker seemed like it wanted to drift, but it never did, even at speeds of 65 to 80 MPH in Nevada. Not too many nrgatives here. Chevrolet gave major thought to the 2001 model Tracker. The previous models gave this smaller SUV an undeserved reputation for roll over and being under powered. They were, this one is not. The price was fair as the dealer sold it to me for a couple of hundred dollars more than their invoice price. Even though there are some minor things I don't like about this vehicle, I'm more than satisfied with the Tracker. I would certainly purchase another one. People who want a very useful, and nice looking vehicle with much quality built in, should give this Tracker serious consideration. I did . . . and, I'm glad. For the money, I am very impressed with look of this vehicle (inside and out). The older versions seemed to skimp on the materials, but this year has lots of nice curves, fabric and moldings. It feels like it has some luxury compared to earlier versions. There is surprisingly a lot of shoulder room in the front seats. My husband is 210 lbs & 6' tall and we have lots of room up front. We have an 8 month old baby who rides in the back and one on the way. It is very easy to put kids in their car seats in this vehicle. It rides very well for an SUV. It is great in the snow! I think that it looks terrific!
Weakness:
The wind does grab this vehicle, so you have to be careful to keep it in check. There is quite enough power for me, but my husband says that he would have preferred the V6. This is our primary vehicle at this time, so it is important for it to be able to go from everyday city driving, to holding the kids, the dog and all our luggage for trips to the cottage up north. We previously owned a Station Wagon, and we have all the benefits of that, in a more attractive and fun vehicle. I will probably keep this truck for quite some time! V6 engine, quite, comfortable and very cute w/ running boards
Weakness:
I would like to see an arm rest for my right arm. No elbow rest between the seats. Every 4 wheel vehicle was priced high ($28,000 -$32,000) and I thought the Chevy Tracker would fit my needs. I thought the price was very good, Cheverolet was offering a $2,000 dollar rebate, along w/ my dealer rebate. The car is perfect and I have had no problems with my Tracker.
