Strength:

Good looks, great ride, strong engine, very comfortable seats, Z71 off-road package, On-star.

Weakness:

I honestly can''''t think of any weaknesses so far. I have absolutely no complaints.

This is the most expensive car I have ever purchased. I have never had leather seats, CD, 4-wheel drive, etc before. When you pay a lot for a vehicle, you expect a lot. This truck has been exactly what I expected, and more. The 0% interest enticed me. So, I went in and explored. I found this Onyx Black Tahoe Z71 Tahoe. I had an ''''89 Suburban with a 6.2L Diesel engine. Great truck. My wife didn''''t go with me, but she said "If you are going to get a vehicle, I would like a black Tahoe." When I saw this truck, I considered it a "sign from above". The dealership was great. They gave me what I considered a great deal. I tested the 4wd ont the beach, and was very impressed. I came across nothing that even bogged it down. Great Truck!!

Great ride and handling; able to sit up above most other vehicles; very safe feeling SUV.

Weakness:

none

A great vehicle. Owned a 2000 Suburban prior to this. Was too big for just the wife and I. We travel to Louisiana quite a bit and it is the perfect vehicle to travel in. Got rid of the Firestone tires the 1st day and replaced them w/ Cooper Discover HT series LT265/75R15 tires. Handles great with these w/ no road noise. This is the vehicle I wanted to get when I got the ''Burb but was unable to find the one I wanted. This is quite possibly the perfect vehicle.

Very nice vehilce. Blows away the Ford Exepition in the handling department. Feels and handles like a luxury car. Road noise is minial for a vehilce of it''s size. Definitely a good choice.

some dork put a chip in it that cuts off the speed at 100MPH!

This is really a very nice truck, and nicest vehicle I''ve owned. No problems, nice ride, great get up and go, plush, and a sound system that''ll send chills up your spine.

This is my first Tahoe but my family has owned three so this makes the forth in the family. It had 96,000 miles when I first bought it, which I was afraid of. I was worried that it would have the rumored transmission problems. When I first drove it for the test drive I paid close attention to the transmission and it shifted great! I have had it for 5 months now and it still runs and shifts perfectly. I plan to keep it for a long time and I will definately buy another when the time comes. I strongly recommend a Chevy Tahoe to anyone who is looking for a big, roomy SUV that will get you through anything. I don''t recommend it however to someone who wants a fast car that can fit in tight spaces.

Strength:

The new 2001 LS handles corners very well at high speeds.Has more than enough power. The only thing this Tahoe does not have is leather seats, it''s a pleasure to drive.

Weakness:

The only weakness this SUV has is that the air conditioning will not cool very well(100 degrees plus)when the vehicle is sitting idle.As long there is air flow over the condenser it will freeze you out no matter how hot it gets.

We bought our 2001 LS Tahoe brand new. It''s great for long rides,we put 4300 miles on it,during our vaction to Yellow Stone National Park.We had a 1997 LT 4DR 4X4 it was nice.We experienced only minor mechanical problems with the 1997 and two minor problems with our new Tahoe, which was covered by the warranty. We also had an extended warranty on our old Tahoe, it paid for its self.

Strength:

1. Lots of power.
2. Smooth drive.
3. Much more room.

Weakness:

None

We replaced an Eddie Bauer Explorer with a 2001 LS Tahoe with leather seats. We love the extra room with the third seat. It drives wonderfully, much better than the Explorer. We liked the look of the Tahoe best of all the SUV's. Its overall performance (power) has been more than we expected. Usually, you have a few "issues" with a new vehicle but none with this Tahoe. Great SUV!

Compared to an Eddie Bauer Explorer, the Tahoe is wider which makes the drive better and it has much more room.

Repair nightmare... hungry for gas too...

Fun all around SUV... but it's been a long haul of repairs even after the extended warranty ran out!!! Still has power and handles off/on road like a smooth ride. Hopefully the new models fixed all the problems?!?

Strength:

Lots of room, good gas milage for an SUV, and handles like a dream.

Weakness:

none that I can think of yet.

I have not owned this vehicle that long, but I fell in love with it the first day I owned it. It handles great, is comfortable for long trips and tows wonderfully. No problems with the brakes yet and the truck stops on a dime. Tows like a dream. Going up hills with the cruise on, the speed stays right at the setting.
