Woodsy
Strength:
Great traction (with a good set of tires) Good power, the 2 door has great looks, especially like the tire mounted on tail gate.
Weakness:
The 4 speed auto tranny of GM always had a (drop in & out) overdrive that you have to get used to. I've had 3 Blazers & was much worse in the 2.8 models. I love my little Blazer. It's a 2 door LS with the ZR wheels. I bought the truck with 113,000 mi on it. I haven't had a problem with it yet. It's a light truck, not much for pulling, but other than that, I love it. I'll drive it till the wheels fall off! Similar Products Used: Owned a Ford Explorer with aproximately the same miles. A little easier on the gas & a little more room, but that's about it. |

Blazer 2-door
Strength:
-Power. This puppy has some go to it if you romp on it, just don't rag it out. -Room. For a 2-door the back seat has got a considerable amount of room (none of my backseat passengers have complained yet) -AC/Heat: Gets frosty or tropical real quick. -Good handling & steering -Good brakes -looks good -Smooth ride; almost like a car.
Weakness:
-Gas mileage. Its ok; 15-17 city: 18-20 Hwy (Remember its an suv, everybody pisses and moans about gas) -They've made the engine compartment smaller and smaller. God help me if I've got to work on it. This is the first car that I've owned that wasn't atleast 8 years old when I bought it, so this might be a bit slanted when I say that I am just glad to have a vehicle where everything works. I drive about 60 miles a day and I can honestly say that I have never dreaded wanting to drive this suv. Overall I think its a great vehicle for the money Similar Products Used: 1992 Isuzu Rodeo 1986 Jeep Cherokee 1990 Chevy S 1500 |

Strength:
Way cooler than a 92' Prizm. Try driving one and see how much you appreciate a real vehicle
Weakness:
None I love my blazer. I have had no problems and it had 107k miles on it. The girl who trades it in had not taken care of it and the dealer hadn't had time to fix it up and clean it, but I took care of that and it is GREAT!!!! |

Weakness:
Too much repair expenses, we have spent more than 6,000 over last 4 years We have had nothing but problems with our Blazer. Although we still love the looks of it, the size, options, etc. the amount we have paid in repairs has been ridiculous. The whole fuel system is obviously faulty, we have replaced the fuel injection system, the catalytic converter, transmission, egr valve, the list goes on. I would definitely not buy another Blazer or any other GM products ever! Similar Products Used: None |

Weakness:
shocks have too much play needs more front end clearance Great vehicle.i bought mine wrecked with a little damage to the front end. After some frame straitening and putting a new radiator and front clip on, it was as good as new.I have taken mine in some of the harshest off road conditions and it handled well and definitly proved that its 4.3 V6 vortec packs a punch.looking at it you might think that there is no way but, to non-believers, i'd say don't judge a book by its cover. this vehicle will defintly surprise you off road. Strength:
Great for hauling. Driving in snow and mud.
Weakness:
High maintenance. Tune up alone runs $170. Noisy interior. I've had mine now for over a 1yr with 52,000 miles and I like it. I've had to fix the lower ball joints, idler arm, driver side hub. I recommend new shocks, and keep the tires up to date. If they wear out you'll get a bad ride. Similar Products Used: 87 Blazer. |

Weakness:
It gets dirty too easy and I have to wash it What can I say, I owned a 1993 chevy blazer for about 4 years. I bought it at 98k miles and I got rid of it at 172k miles. It was a great vehicle so I decided to buy a new model. I shopped around and found a great deal at Carmax in Fort Worth, Texas. I have driven this blazer for less than two months and I love it. I did notice that the gas mileage wasn't what I expected but hey, I have a new car!! I bought it with 27k miles and I'm almost at 30k. It runs great and I'm very happy with my purchase. floatoveru
Strength:
Easily shifted into 4wd. Good traction in deep snow. Fairly comfortable front seats with good visibility. Adequate power for hills and passing. Good heating and defrost.
Weakness:
Poor fuel economy. Loud on the highway and rattles on any but the smoothest of roads. Overall quality of the vehicle is below what one would expect in this price range. Mechanically inferior to other vehicles in this class and price range. Does not have good trade or resale value which means you could get stuck driving it longer than you'd like to. This is my first and last Chevrolet product. Although not a complete surprise this vehicle gives poor gas mileage for the size of the engine and is therefore expensive to drive. We have maintained the Blazer according to schedule with the exception of oil changes which have been done more often than recommended. So far the Blazers been in the shop for a problem with the automatic transmission, which was easily repaired, a broken seat recliner lever and apparently it is now in need of ball joints. Fortunatley it is under warranty with 29000 miles but We are surprised that these have worn out with low mileage and highway driving. We are afraid it's only the begining. I wish now I we had stuck with our original idea of Toyota product. The 0% financing got us, hook, line and sinker. Chevy Blazer ZR2
Strength:
- Not many on the road - Big and mean - Handles GREAT for an 0ff-road - Unique two-door, raised design - EVERY option you could imagine is available - Rough enough to baha with. Pretty enough for a girl's truck
Weakness:
- Rear tire of course but, I think you can purchase and adapter kit that brings it down if you're interested. - Can't honestly think of any more! I just bought (yesterday) a brand new 2003 Chevy Blazer ZR2. So why am I writing a review already?? This is my second. I owned a 1999 ZR2 as well and fell in love. Unfortunately, after taking 6 months to find it, it took just seconds to total it. Bad weather, and a slick, dangerous road forced me out of my first way TOO soon. Reluctant due the big price tag, I wasn't sure I would: 1-find or 2-buy another. After a month of searching, I knew I would never find one like the one I lost so, I bought a brand new loaded replica. This is an AMAZING truck. After years of making Blazers, I feel Chevy has perfected it. Never a big Chevy fan, this truck converted me. Went from a 1999 Mustang GT, 35th Anniversary edition. Now, I bike, hike, go to the beach, all in this unique, beautiful automobile. Thinking about it -- BUY one. Mine is black on graphite. I always get complements and enjoy the attention. |
