Strength:

Strong engine, but would be nice with a vortec v8 lol. Nice body and interior. So much you can do with the blazer it unreal.

Weakness:

Front end is weak if you do some serious offroading this is not the car for it.

The only thing wrong with the blazer are the weak front ends on them. There is two much weight for the front end of the blazers. They have an awesome engine, and are everlasting vehicles. Those of you complaining need to relize that 2% of the people who have them don't like them for a real cause. As far as breaks go, the damn thing is nearly five thousand pounds what do you expect. I have over 150K miles with only having to relace the intake manifold gasket because of over heating. So I give 4 stars to the Chevy Blazer.

Strength:

looks great, no rust, no dents, paint is great, looks brand new.

Weakness:

the people who made the 4.3 engine for the blazer should be shot, or killed slowly.

I got it used with 78K. the truck was great untill 100K, then it self destructed! list of parts replaced: 2 frezze plugs, starter, water pump, fuel pump, intake gaskets(upper & lower), injectors, 2 ignition moduels (not sure of spelling), 2 computers, coil, multifunction switch (big problem with blazers & $$$) plus basic wear and tear: cap & rotor, plugs & wires, brakes, tires. I have only put 5,000 miles on the car in the past year because it is always broken. It still is not running, I cant figure out what is wrong with it, other than being electrical. I work on cars for a living. The chevy dealer near my house has no idea and their good! every person i talk to who has a blazer with more than 70K on it has problems. all the guys at chevy say not to buy a blazer. I have my blazer for sale. I'm driving a $200 85 toyota truck untill I sell the blazer. the toyota is awsome, not much to look at but will run untill the end of time.

Strength:

None

I rate this vehicle a zero. After only 33,000 miles I had to replace back and fron brake rotors and pads because of rust at a cost of $1350.00. In addition, if wipers attempt to run when the winshield is frozen, they unscrew themselves. This car is a disgrace and is a reason for the bad reutation that american made cars have.

Very poorly made truck, vehicle rarely used & falling apart. Front end rebuilt twice, 3 sets of front brakes installed, trans. leaked. Been in shop 6 times for repair. No GM backing on this vehicle & no problem found on front end, until after warranty expired. Filed 6 complaints & recieved no help. Last GM product I will purchase!

Model Reviewed: Chevy Blazer

Strength:

Smooth ride, very quite interior, cozy yet spacious. The newer models have obviously upgraded their toys but the soul of the blazer is still strong. Good off road capabilities though it can take a toll on the suspension. Great looking, good pick-up and braking. Suprising amount of cargo room. Ive moved 4 times with just this truck.

Weakness:

Factory parts will need replaced overtime but nothing over $300. Taking it off-road, though it holds its own, will take its toll on this smooth riding SUV

This is my second blazer. My other, a 92, I've put upwards of 160k on it and its still going. Besides about 1g ive spent on parts for it, it still works. The 01 is obviously much nicer with only 30k on it. The after market warrenty is impresive but all in all I'm a die hard Chevy fan. Good simple american craftsmanship.

Strength:

Power, Ride, Handling, 4x4 performance, comfort. Mileage is acceptable at about 21 mpg on the highway.

Weakness:

none

Both my wife and I are thoroughly satisfied with the ride, handling, and performance. It had 23,000 mi when we bought it last May, now it has 45,000 mi. There are a few repairs that were required. First, the driver's side door hinge bushings broke and fell out causing the door to be missaligned when closing. Second, the gas gauge has started to go crazy occasionally. We haven't fixed it yet, we just judge the amount of fuel remaining by the odometer. Third, some hoses are leaking oil near the oil filter.

Strength:

Durable, Inexpensive, powerful vortec 6 engine (not sluggish).

Weakness:

Some structual weaknesses, poor gas mileage(does much better with premium fuel). Nagging minor repair history.

Nice looking, smooth ride, practical, comfortable, reasonably priced compared to competitors. Numerous standard features that were included in the price. Pretty basic which I'm sure will reduce maintenance cost in the future. This may be the reason some many of the old blazers are still up and running. To me that's what it's all about. A real American SUV Icon.

Strength:

Comfy, Roomy, and has a sleek look to it, overall very well.

Weakness:

Fuel system, some minor leaks, nothing major, but can be a hassle

Honestly, this is one of the nicest SUV's I have driven. I bought this truck from a private owner, and I love it. I have never been a GM fan, but this is one nice truck. I have replaced on it by choice, just because I wanted more power :) Fuel pump and tank, sound system, CP Injection system, wide tires. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING has gone wrong that I actually had to replace not by choice. This truck was very well taken care of, which is probably why its in such sound condition. It has 62,000 miles on it, quite low for a 1995.
