Strength:

I like the styling, the drivetrain is top notch, great power, comfortable interior, relatively quiet, Very capable in any condition, on or off road. The brakes are very strong, if not a little noisy. Very controlled body motions.

Weakness:

Interior rattle since new. Noisy brakes. Very Bad rear visibility (blind spot big enough to hide a semi).

This is my first brand new vehicle I have ever bought. I love it. It is a great truck for a single person who wants to be active. It can pull a boat, carry a mnt bike, go 4-wheeling, and looks good for cruising town too. I don't know why everyone gripes about it. Its a truck, people. Its gonna have some rough edges. But they are minor when you compare the overall utility of the vehicle. I drive mine almost 4000 miles a month, and I have absolutely no regrets about buying this vehicle. It fits me.

Strength:

I love the sporty look, it is a very comfortable vehicle and lots of trunk space. It rides very comfortable in all areas.

Weakness:

The list goes on and on.. The noise, the squeaking doors, the horrible brake quality!

We bought this vehicle new in Jan 2001, it was a 2000 left over, exactly as we should have left it! We had it one month and a half and then we started hearing a noise over 80kmh, we took it in for the noise and the mechanics said it had problem brakes, they turned down front and rear rotors, this is at 4900k's. I know we will be replacing the brakes fairly soon. I had to take the truck back for another day because they didn't get to the main reason I had brought it in in the first place. They then tell me that the noise can't be fixed, that it is normal for the 4.3L engine to make that type of droning noise. I was not impressed, so we took it to the dealer we purchased it from, some 3 hours from our home. They balanced the drive shaft, to no avail. We took it back and they had it for two weeks, in that time we heard it was anything from torque converter to transfer case to U joints to oh, its normal. Lastly they shimmed down the front drive shaft so it would not turn continuously like it is suppose to. The noise is somewhat better, but is still there. I am happy with our dealers response to our problem, however GM was never heard from for three weeks until I called them. They are having their field manager have a look at our truck, that now has 8000 km on it from trying to get it fixed. I am not impressed at the way this vehicle was thrown together in hast. It definetly is not worth the price, and I believe that there should be a buyer beware sign posted in all dealerships that sell them!!!!!!1

I have had my blazer about 2 1/2 years and have had nothing but problems first of all my trasmission goes out at 71,000 miles, than my brakes are constantly wearing and they did send me a recall on this which was a transfer case and than this new found problem that no one can seem to figure out....the high idling and loss of power and the brakes are hard when you push down on them and take some time to actually stop. I called customer service and surprising enough there is a campaign in California only that pertains to this problem...gas in the oil...and now I've read other reviews and began to wonder about the transmission, but I've continuously complained to Chevrolet and either my blazer has to many miles to recieve any type of assistance or I live in the wrong state? My blazer has been the worst investment of my life!!!!!

very unsatisfied!!!!!!!

I've made several complaints and I am just amazed at various complaints on the 1995 blazers...gas in your oil? what is the cause of that? when you take your car to the dealer they can't figure it out...all they can say is it isn't covered...by any type of campaigns out there...by the way there is a campaign in California...99034A special policy 990601022 service bulletin CMFI but that doesn't help me any because I live in New Mexico and that isn't what is wrong with my blazer...that is what I'm told....yet part of the policy reads...gas upper intake...engine misfire....the dealer did a compressor test...finding cylinder...#1-25, #2-150, #3-135, #4-25, #5-20 and #6-125 basically my car is missing....and I was told it has 3 dead holes???? which in english..means I need a new engine now...wait only after putting in a transmission at 71,000 miles...talk about lemon!!!! I wouldn't recommend this vehicle to my worst enemy!!!!! I've probably made 15 complaints to GM and I will continue to complain....because I am very frustrated with all the money I've had to spend and basically end up with nothing...but a blazer that runs like crap!!!! I'm better off riding my daughters scooter....If anyones experiencing similar problems...please e:mail me and maybe we can get some type of class action suit going!!!!! we paid alot of money for these vehicles the least we could get out of it is some reliability...

Strength:

The xtream styling is very nice. The 4.3 L V-6 has more than enough power
for its size. The interior is nice and the Bose sound system is allright.

Weakness:

The worst quality is the blind spots. I also have paid $500 extra for a bose sound system that the cd player does not work and GM won't send me another unless I send in the broken one and go withount any sound for at least a mounth. The dealership has done everything they could to help me but my options are runing slim.

I have had a great experience with the vehicle and love the power and the styling. I just am getting tired of not being able to listen to the cd player.

Strength:

It is very comfortable, and looks great.

Weakness:

EVERYTHING. I replace the EGR valve in Feb. now it is going out again. The brakes are awful, when I am driving and if I hit a pot hole while I am breaking my brakes will lock up and then give away and not want to stop. It will make a very loud noise. I have taken it in many times and they keep telling me there is nothing wrong with the brakes.

I do not recommend a blazer to anyone. I use to love chevrolet and thought they were the best vehicles on the road. I will never again own a GM. THEY SUCK.

water leak through the roof seams...seven times in the shop. left front tire was tearing fender off on the day it was purchased. dealer needs to learn how to really fix vehicles. ABS break light comes on while going down the road. poor visiblity out the rear. lack of power.....NOT A VERY GOOD VEHICLE FOR THE AVERAGE PERSON THAT EXPECTS A LOT OUT OF A SUV!!!!! dealership service very poor, act mad when you return vehicle back again to have it worked on again

DO NOT BUY CHEVROLET IF YOU EXPECT TO NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS OR GET A RUN AROUND FROM THE DEALERSHIPS AND GM.

Strength:

Style, strength, power (Tim Allen grunt), space, storage compartments, engine is good, haven't spent a lot of money on repairs except for major tune-up. The word "Chevrolet" says it all- "Like A Rock"!

Weakness:

Doesn't hold alignment very well, bad gas mileage- but to be expected with any SUV, had to have painted and clear-coated, most expensive thing I've had to have replaced is the steering gearbox, the front window leaks down left side of window at top of headliner.

Overall it has been a great vehicle. No problems with it other than the ABS recall- which is no big deal. Great in all types of weather also due to the fact I have Michelin LTX M/S tires on it, which are the best I've seen on these vehicles, considering I work at an auto/tire shop. Rides good, gets good gas mileage on long trips, and is a great vehicle to customize to your own taste. I do not recommend this as a first vehicle, but a good one for the experienced driver and after owning your "first crappy vehicle". I love my Blazer!

Compared to the newer versions of the Blazer, I like the 94 & under body styles better. Fords, Toyotas, Dodges, Nissans, and other SUV's - Chevrolet is still the BEST!

Strength:

Most of all its a nice body style with a mean look to it. With the right kind of gears applied, it has potential to be a war horse in the mud and muck of Alabama. The drive train is dependable and has a great turning radius. Most of all the girls love the look and the driver behind the wheel is not too bad.

Weakness:

The 305 that cheverolet put in the truck just cant pull its on weight. It had to be rebuilt at 124,000. If i was smart i would have just dropped a 350 four bolt main in there and tore the highway up. Of course the gas mileage sucks, but thanks to the 32 gallon tank you dont have to stop for a while when filling up.

I bought the Blazer after i decided to trade my restored 1965 Chevy truck for a bigger, more roomy vehicle that could carry all my friends when we hit the river.Through high school it served the purpose of getting the attention of the girls, but being my only transportation back and forth to work, I really did not put it in the mud.
After high school, I attended Marion Military Institute, in Marion Alabama about 200 miles from my home in Mobile. The vehicle never let me down driving back and forth most every weekend and can honestly say the vehicle became a road vehicle instead of a off road one.
I am recently attending the University of South Alabama and finishing my senior year in college before becoming a police officer. The Blazer is still my main transportation vehicle but I also joined a newly formed club called Mobile Off Road Extreme (M.O.R.E.).Since i have joined the club i can say that the vehicle has did more than proove its ability to pull other vehicles out of some rough spots.I have never got in a spot that i could not get out and i still get the girls to notice its fine body style even though its a little dirty from the mud. To all those Blazer owners in the U.S. "Keep up the spirit, she will never let you down"
