Strength:
Ride, looks, power, standard amenities, re-sale value.
Weakness:
Plastic wood looks decent but it would give the car a more substantial feel if they used real wood. Some of the body parts feel light (hood, fuel door), gas cap is not attached, vinyl seat sides, non-premium grade carpet, black color shows every scratch. Just leased it, was hungry for a reliable car experience after owning a Mercedes ML320. First impressions are good, drives nicely, reasonable power, well-equipped, etc. Was a little surprised about the amount of interior plastic and expected just a little bit better fit and finish. I guess overall I didn't realize when you buy an Acura that it does scream Honda on alot of levels which is not neccessarily a bad thing if the integrity is there. It is a little disheartening to see the Touregg and Volvo suvs at around the same price point offer real wood and a better grade of materials to some extent. Don't get me wrong, this very well could be the best bet under $40K. Again, looks and ride are there, this should be a good car for me, I need the benefits of a sport utility but like most people, don't need a bonafide off road vehicle. Therefore, the more car like ride appeals to me. If this turns out to be a reliable car as advertised, I will feel it was worthwhile. Similar Products Used: ML320, Explorer, Grand Cherokee |

MDX w/ Touring & Nav
Strength:
This vehicle rides smooth and instills a sense of confidence on the road. The Navigation system is first rate compared to others, and the extra few inches in width is noticeable compared to its competitors. In comparison shopping I found Acura to be the best "all around" while not being a standout in any one area. It's the prototypical "Jack of All trades........Master of None"
Weakness:
While the MDX rides smoothly, mine has always shifted a tad more abruptly in low gear than I would expect. Braking is rather long, and the interior needs to be jazzed up a bit. Gas mileage around town is abysmal. 15 mpg. Also, add rear seat air bags Acura. This car is reasonably priced when compared to the Volvo/BMW/Mercedes crowd. It's all wheel drive w/ Nav & 7 seats, plus comparable 260 horses runs close to 50K at those places. Still, if you're not in the market for a "premium" brand, you might be able to save a few bucks and look at the Nissan Murano. Get the running boards, they help. Acura MDX
Strength:
-rear view camara -7 seats -navigation system -smooth, car like -good power -no blind spots
Weakness:
-2 seats in 3rd row could be a little roomier but good for short distance trips This is a great vehicle! It rides smooth, handles great, has good power, and plenty of interior room. I picked the MDX over the Lexus RX330 because of 2 extra seats in rear. I like the 7 seats because I'm still driving a suv, not a mini-van. The navigation system is great for getting directions and finding restaurants, etc. and I especially love the rear-view camara for backing up! Similar Products Used: Ford Explorer, Lexus RX330 |

Acura MDX Touring
Strength:
* Good looking vehicle * Gas mileage has been between 25-30 on freeway * Acura Reliability * Dealer has been responsive to requests * 3rd row seats in an SUV of moderate size. This is the primary reason I bought the MDX over the RX300/330
Weakness:
* Cheesy cheap looking dash for a 40k vehicle. interior is nice but not what I would call impressive. * Steering wheel buttons for cruise and radio are not lit (Acura what were you thinking * Items that were standard on my audi or Rav 4 are extra on the MDX and excessively priced (cargo covers, liners, etc) * Plenty of cup holders exit but they do not hold drinks of larger size. The adjustable ones in my Rav 4 and A6 were much more functional * Luggage rack holds minimal weight * Gas mileage in city driving is well below published * Touring package gives the vehicle many nice options but they came standard in my Audi in the base vehicle. I think the base MDX does not offer much in the way of extras for the price. Overall I am pleased with the vehicle and would buy it again. Had the RX330 been able to seat 7 or have been a few inches larger I would have owned it over the MDX. The Trailblazer offered as many of the options as the MDX for a lot less money but my perception is that the MDX would outlast the Trailblazer. I find the MDX quiet, comfortable, of sufficient pickup and power. It is a pleasure to drive and responsive for a midsize vehicle and I think it is the best looking of all SUV's but am not sure it's premium price is worth it over a Pilot. Too upset to find any at this point.
Weakness:
Above Wake me up from this nightmare! Exteriorly-handsome Interiorly-pathetic w/too much plastic for a high-end SUV. If I wanted a Highlander, I would have paid 28K and bought a Highlander! Brutal Gas Mileage, I'd like to see 17 city MPG more than ONCE in a year. Has been "shopped" numerous times for issue that have no answers: 1. Klunking Breaks, been replaced 2 times, shimmed 4 times...still there! 2. Locking gear shifter - in 3 times, "can't duplicate while in shop", still locking 2-3x's a week. ACURA CUST SERV-SUCKS! Long time Honda Customer shocked at the ACURA Experience to date. Similar Products Used: Honda Products Ford Expedition & Explorer |

Strength:
Nice SUV.
Weakness:
Sometimes service is not good. Had a check engine light come on at 10,000 miles. Service depends on what dealership you go to, did not have a good experience at Radley Acura. Service clerk name Tiffany does not do a good job. Overall, I am happy with the SUV. |

Everything looks good except that only 7 passager seats, and the rear 2 seats are too small. If it can take 8 passagers and bigger leg space for the rear seats, that will be wonderful! |

Strength:
Nav. system is worth having but I'd rather have it in a LX330 !
Weakness:
New car that rattles and worse yet the brakes are becoming dangerous at 17,000 miles. I had it towed in this morning after they seemed to go out. Historic rear brake noise when cold since I bought it. Maybe now they will find out. Cocky dealerships don't think they need to price fairly, don't think they need to privde service either. Am I unhappy, you bet! Fair Exterior, Poor Interior/Plastic, plastic, plastic, even the wood grain. Noises everywhere. Not economical, gas mileage about 13 - 16 mpg. Very disappointed in performance. Doesn't ride or look (interior) like a luxury car. See problems below. Similar Products Used: RX300, Acura RL, Jeep Grand Cherokee |

Strength:
Quiet, smooth ride; fair gas mpg, good traction in snow; feels stable on the road; comfortable front seats; sound system; looks good; comfortable on 12-hour trips and I'm 6'2" 190 lbs.
Weakness:
Odd clicking noises in the front and back wheels when I apply the breaks (cold); rotors rust up and sound raspy too when breaking for the first time. Dash brake light and battery light sometimes light up simultaneously when breaking. Other Honda-like little problems, mostly cosmetic. Funny smell at times, like I'm cooking engine coolant (sulfur-like)smell. Paint job is so-so, and paint scratches easily, even with a towel after you wash it. Very nice ride. Practical interior. Tight fit for 7 passengers. Great sound system. I passed on the Nav system, went with the Touring package. Averaging 21.5 MPG. My first "pricy" SUV purchase and probably my last. Little things are bothering me about this vehicle that I would not expect in a vehicle that cost almost 40K. The Michelin tires are doing fine at 20K. Dealer has been great for regular check-ups. ML500
Strength:
Handling is a plus, turning radius is very small radius even better than some small sport car. Powerful engine, Emergency button if you need help or tow truck or make a restaurant reservation, etc.
Weakness:
I like don't like a look from the back. I have been driven for many SUVs in the past such Lexus-RX300, Accura MDX and BMW X5 include ML500 and I am so impress a new revised ML V8. It performs beautifully and has many safety featurs come as standard such as 10 airbags (2 fronts, 4 sides and 4 head protection airbags) and ESP, 4ET, BRAKE ASSIST, etc. Nav also standard. I recommend get the inspiration edition which appreciation from Mercedes-Benz clients and it actually you get more enhance look but costs a little less than a regular ML. This series will soon be gone. Most importantly a price is much cheaper than V8 BMW or LEXUS LX470 Similar Products Used: LEXUS RX300; BMW X5; ACCURA MDX |
