Weakness:

Strength:
Fast as hell! Interior build quality was pretty good with no cheap parts.
Weakness:
Where do I begin...? O2 sensors, O2 sensors and O2 sensors. No leg room in back seat, No trunk with convertible or T-top version (very limited space), Delco radio..?, documented problem with driver side windows (on both cars), ERG valves, yada, yada, yada... I bought a 2000 Corvette Convertile and have not had it in the shop once. It may be more money but test drive it before you judge and you''ll see what I mean. I purchased a 95 Firebird new (fully loaded) and had nothing but problems. I am not exaggerating that I had it in for service no less than 25 times. I got rid of it after 3 years and bought a new 97 TransAM RAM Air convertible (It sat at the dealers for a year). Same damn problems. It was VERY discouraging to have 2 brand new cars with identical problems. This car was in the shop at least 20-25 times - no exaggeration. Never again will I buy a Pontiac. Strength:
Everything. Fast, Powerful, Great Handling, Muscular Looks, T-Top option is great, and the stereo system is really good.
Weakness:
None It''s red, mean, and fast. Very Durable. Never Been in a funer car to drive. With simply exhaust, and filter i gained .6 seconds in the 1/4 mile. Currently runs a 15.9 automatic. It''s not very fast but it''ll take most Hondas and that includes Si''s. It is very tempting to speed so watch out with the cops if you get one. Similar Products Used: Chevrolet Camaro |

Strength:
Power, looks, comfort, handling.
Weakness:
speeding tickets, insurance. I love this car, despite the dealer screwing me over. Never go to Grand Auto in Thorton CO. She will peg the speedometer in 5th. 6th gear is where you get the gas mileage - 28.1 is my best. It is a magnet - babes, curves, cops. The car is decievingly larger than it appears. Doors are long, and it is difficult to get in and out of, but once your in, she is as cozy as a kitten, but a roar instead of a purr. Similar Products Used: T-top 454 ''73 Vette |

TransAm WS6
Strength:
Power, power, power. Looks, eventual collector car.(gone after 2002 model)
Weakness:
Back seats for small kids or trophies, not adult humans.(but what did you buy this car for anyway?) The second F-body I own. This car is incredible. I have had 0 problems with it. It is comfortable to drive, whether a short trip to the store or accross the state(if you''re under 6''). The factory Monsoon system is more than anyone should ever NEED in any vehicle. The engine pulls hard from off idle all the way to the red line. The Hurst shifter is precise(have not missed 2-3 shift yet). Gas mileage on a 453 mile RT was 28.02 MPG(after 500 mile break in). This car would toast my Roadrunner and Satellite. Everything works as advertised. I have read stories about people complaining about the "cheap plastic interior", rattles, squeaks and general "crappiness" found in GM''s f-body line. Well, I live in southwestern Pennsylvania and the roads here are terrible! My car has 6000 miles on the odometer and I still DO NOT have one rattle or squeak! It has been one full year since I took delivery. The fit and finish are excellent! There are NO flaws in the finish and ALL the gaps are Perfect(I have checked every one). This car was meant to be purchased by car enthusiasts, not the "MASSES". If you want a regular car, buy a Ford, Buick, Olds.... Don''t buy a performance car and then whine about it! I have heard of other folks having problems with the dealer they purchased their card from. I will say that my dealer was a joy to work with. I did not pay close to sticker price for this car and it was ordered the way I wanted it. The general manager personally took video of the car being driven off the transport and into their service bay. He had the window sticker framed and gave me EVERY piece of paperwork associated with the car. He also refused to order any other Firebird with my color combination and option list just to make sure my car was the ONLY one in this area like it. Too bad all GM dealers can''t be the same way! Strength:
Power, handeling, monsoon stereo system, t-tops dont leak, comfortable seats, stereo controlls on stearing wheel, factory alarm,
Weakness:
sometimes has a hard time getting traction on the street (nothing that a set of Nitto''s cant handel), and cant see the front end very well. I absolutly love this car. This is the best purchase I have ever made! I don''t know how anyone couldn''t love these cars. It handels awesome, looks mean, has alot of power, and is very inexpensive for the quality of the car. Also, there are alot of bolt ons and free modifications that can be done to these cars for little or no money. I will own alot of Firebirds and Trans Am''s in the future. Trans Am Ram Air
Strength:
Looks, engine
Weakness:
Interior quality--plastic like seats---boring dash that is like every other pontiac and just overall fit and finish Black with tan leather 86000kms-very fast, looks great. My father used to own a 1988 Corvette---the corvette was built much better. Reliability has been pretty good except for blowing rear oil seals twice. Interior build quality is crappy. The car looks good, the engine is strong but the fit and finish has left much to be desired. I personally am going to buy a 2002 Acura RSX Type-S and get rid of this car. I have owned a couple VW Corrados and have found them much more fun to drive. The Trans AM is faster, but handles much worse and the quality is definately not there. Would probably not buy another Domestic car again. The car is not terrible, just not worth the money. Similar Products Used: 1993 VW Corrado 1994 VW Corrado 1988 Corvette |

Pontiac Firebird
Strength:
POWER (AND ONLY THE BASE V-6!!!), CORNERING, LOOKS, GAS MILEAGE, no drips from t-tops
Weakness:
visibility, lousy base factory sound, bought used at 47,000 miles and at 15 miles after leaving the lot, the engine started stumbling, Service Engine light came on. Dealer told me to drive it back to the lot ( I had it towed back on a flatbed hauler). Turns out that fuel filter and injectors got fouled from bad gas and a plug wire was cracked and shorting (plug wires are a recall item for the 1998''s). Somehow the (Pontiac) dealer missed these problems during theirmeticulous 64-point inspection of this "Certified Pre-owned Pontiac". Since then, it runs great. Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, the BEST car I have EVER owned in over 20 years. "just" has the base V-6, but at 200 hp it hauls butt, gets 24 mpg in 75/25 highway/city driving, and corners like it''s glued to the road. It''s black and with the great body and fender curves it''s actually been mistaken for a Vette a few times. Incredible value for the money if you understand that it''s supposed to be a stiff-riding, low slung performance car. Similar Products Used: Ford Mustang, Buick Grand National |
