Strength:

This car is a looker, I've picked up many girls in this car. MY girlfriend hates it!

Weakness:

The parts on this car are really expensive to replace. I put $2500 into just the engine after I bought it, New front exhaust=1200, altenator and heat sheild 500, tune up 300, and a Viper Alarm (strongly recomend) 500.

I bought this car on a whim I had 5000 and I decided to get a loan and buy the car. I put 20" rims on it and a new exhaust, racing pedals and a 1' wing on the back

ONLY THE BACK SEAT AND HATCHBACK, A REAL PERSON WONT FIT BACK THERE, BUT HEY, ITS A SPORTS CAR, YOU ONLY NEED 2 SEATS, ITS NOT A FAMILY CAR.

I LOVE THIS CAR.BEFORE THIS I HAD A 3000 GT SL, I LOVED THAT TOO.IT WASN'T THAT FAST BUT THE TWIN TURBO WILL KILL ANYTHING. I LOVE THIS CAR. I TREAT IT LIKE MY KID. ANYWAY, IT'S GOT ALL WHEEL DRIVE, ALL WHEEL STEERING, TWIN TURBO, 300PLUS HORSES STOCK, EASY TO UPGRADE, PUSH BUTTON SUSPENSION, PUSH BUTTON EXHAUST(IT'S SO COOL), TOP SPEED IS GOVERNED AT 155 MPH, WEIGHS 3820 LBS, THEY ONLY COME IN MANUAL TRANSMISSION, THEY GOT CD, AND CASSETTE, ACTIVE AERO (SPOILER AND GROUND FX GO DOWN SO THEY DONT CATCH WIND), DUAL MEAN SOUNDING CHROME EXHAUST, FOG LIGHTS, O-60 4.5 SECONDS, 1/4 MILE IN 13.5, AND THIS CAR IS FAT, WIDE BODIED.

Strength:

The car was pretty strong, beating camaros, mustangs, etc. I've always like driving it, you'll be getting attention from alot of ppls, especially girls, i like the style, the body of the car..

Weakness:

My brother in law had a black one, transmission went off on it, the one i've drove, didnt know if the transmission went off or not, cause when i got my thermostat fix up at a Arabian place, they fix the sh*t, but later that night my transmission went off, my brother-in-law found antifreeze water in my transmission, they f*ck it up so , i'll bring it to them to get it fix, the stereo is not that nice, i would rather get a nicer one put on, interior should be nicer , i did had another problem with the car, was smoking quite a bit on the exhaust pipe, had to get new engine heads fix, pan, gasket, etx. spent almost 8.000$ on it, but later found out that the car had been in a wreck before :( thats probably why all the problems being fix to it..

I've driven it alot, brothers wanted to borrow it also, I really like this car with the nice turns, acceleration, but the maintenance is pretty high on it in the end, I really like the attention from ppl (especially girls), some even say its the fastest car in the world (haha yeah right) but i'll just lie and say yeah :), I'm wanting to purchase another one a 99'3K SL COUPE RED, but their so damn hard to find especially they dont make them anymore, still looking for that 99'3k sl coupe, red , ...

Strength:

Holly jebus its fast! First gear takes you to 60mph, second past 85. I clocked mine 0-60 in about 4.3 sec. Thats better than the lamborgini Diablo if you dont know. Eat little Hondas (the ones with big loud tail pipes) alive! Some loser in a Acura RL actually kept up with me till 120mph, then gave up seeing as my brake lights disapear. Topped 160mph with 3 people in the car and a full tank of gas. My car is stock and although i had not taken it that far, i think it will hit 170 on a good road.
Toys! I can adjust how hard my shocks are, the noice output of my pipe and the pitch of my spoiler all at a touch of the button!
Full time 4 weel drive and 4 weel steering! At 40+mph car can pull well over 1.12g in a turn (The new Corvette can only do 1g, Camaro z28 does .89, Audi 80 Quattro(my old car) .88g) Handeling like no other! Car drives like on rails.
Mega chick magnet!

Weakness:

Although mine does not have a sun roof, from what i hear the damn things make lots of noise at 70+mph.
When i first got the car, i caught myself at 100+mph on the freeway. You dont feel the speed like you do on other cars. Speed feels very confortable and can be dangerous and expencive (damn cops).
Timing belt MUST be changed every 60k miles, otherwise you risk $2500+ in damages.
All fluids are damn expencive. Car needs 92octane fuel and sucks about 19mpg for me. Redline full synthetic oils @$5/bottle. All parts cost double of what you would pay for any other import.
Under the hood you cannot fit a finger because everything is so tight. I cannot even imagine how you get to the back 3 spark plugs.

Have not found any other car for anywhere near the price to offer that much preformance, toys and comfort. A good shopper can find a twin turbo 91-93 for under 10K in good condition. I got a sweet deal as mine is like museum quality. New they sold for about 50K and the next best car i can think of starts at about 90K. Best value hands down!

Strength:

FAST FAST FAST! The gas pedal longs to be abused. With the right tires, it will stick off the line. However with cheap tires, all you do is hear the screech and smell rubber. Handles like a dream, even better after the addition of KYB struts and springs. 80k miles and still runs like a champ. Likes the premium gas however. Runs like a old dog on the cheap stuff. Everyone looks at the car, it's a compliment getter if you keep it nice. Mine's white so i'm constantly washing it. I'm a big guy so the interior gets the biggest part of my accolades. Its huge!..for it's type of car.

Weakness:

The fact that the performance takes a nosedive on regular unleaded gas, it loves the expensive stuff. Ride the brakes once in a hard stop and your turning rotors the next day. The 3000gt has a cup holder...it's called a passenger. Interior is a bit loud under excelleration. lots of torque steering when coming hard off the line. BAD BLIND SPOTS!!! Easily fixed with a $2 blind spot mirror on the drivers side.

Someone wants to buy it or race you at every stoplight!!

Highly recommend!!! Unless you're buying for a new driver. This car demands respect and will bite you the second you forget that. It's roomy (for 2 people anyway...forget back seat passengers) It's fast, good looking, hold it's value, appeals to collectors since they dont make them anymore. 5 years old and still showroom condition.

Strength:

It's a bad-ass car for a 15 year old.

Weakness:

It can be beat by a Viper.

$20,000

It definitely recommend it, even though it's a foreign car and the parts may be a bit more expensive than an American one, it's still a badboy on the road. It outperforms most cars on the road, looks cool, and has a real smooth name....3000 GT.

Strength:

Power, grip, performance, looks, easy to get >>400HP, >>400lbft out of them

Weakness:

Way too easy to get far too much power out of them (650HP do-able)
AWD & AWS takes bravery and re-learning to get the best out of it - then experience more grip than you EVER thought possible

Bought mine new in 94 for $38K - mine's yellow and the dealer was convinced he would never move a yellow one so I got a deep discount.

I added $1500 in upgrades (K&N boost to 15.5 psi, lowered 1.5" with siffer progressive rate springs, cross drilled brembo rotors + Porterfield Racing full carbon race pads) and have enjoyed 74,000 miles of reliable 400+HP perfromance.

The upgrades are so cheap and transform the car so much (0-60 now sub 4.7, 1/4 mile mid 12's, top speed >170)- its almost a sin not to do it.

My wife & daughter have promised to divorce me if I ever sell mine.

Strength:

It is very fast and the TWIN TURBO makes it way more fun
It is very comfortable in the interior and feels just like a sports car
This car The Mitsubishi GTO (as it is known as in NZ)definitly lives up to it's title as the Japanese Ferrari

Weakness:

The weight is a bit of a sore point as it slows down the take off speed
The fact that the only place to see the great performance is really only on a wide open race track - NASCAR TRACK???

Overall I think that the Mitsubishi GTO is a great sportscar
It has all the features that one could want.
The model I own may be a bit old (1992) but this makes it great value for money.
I paid US$9400 for it which was a good deal.
Compared to a new Skyline GTR at US$55000 I think is great as they both have similar comfort levels and although the GTR has much greater performance the price soon levels this out.
I would recommend this car to any one who desires a real sports car
If you wanted a hard accelerating, off the mark car this isn't quite for you But still good value.
The TWIN TURBO 5 speed model is the best and fit a bigger intercooler and twin blow-off valves.

Similar Products Used:

EVO SIX - Doesn't have the same acceleration but the top end speed is much better
Nissan Skyline GTR - Once again acceleration lacking but value for money compared to one of these race bred beasts is way better

Strength:

The amazing handling of this car seems to be its best quality. The Tour/Sport option for the suspension is also a plus. Acceleration is hurt due to its 3600 lb body. However, get out of first gear and 40-100 is quicker than most other sports car. I got this car up to 145... I could have pushed it to 150. I feel the SL is a better by than the VR-4 because of the expensive maintainence that comes with the twin turbo. I have beaten a 2.8 Audi A4 Quattro and a 2000 Nissan Maxima.

Weakness:

The 3600 lbs. body. Also, my airbag and antilock lights show up on occasion. I have to get that checked out. Also, the leather is showing signs of age as well as the gear shifter boot.

I feel that the 3000 GT SL is a great buy. It has awesome handling and reasonable acceleration after the forty mile an hour mark. It will blow away any prelude, integra, v-6 camaro, mustang.
