Strength:

The ONLY 50k brand new super-car made. Plus throw down only $2000 in upgrades and you can get vipers, turbo porches, ferraris, NSX's (easy already), and more...

Weakness:

The base and SL version are dinky, better GT/sports cars in that price range. It's heavy, but not more then most super-cars. But at least they keep the VR-4 alive. Make sure to get warranty as the tranny can die at around 50-100k.

This is the ONLY super-car brand new under $50k. You can get them for 1/2 that used. Now you have a car with all-wheel-drive, all-wheel-steering, electronic adjustable exhaust, electronic adjustable suspension, seperate amp infinity stereo, active aero (the wing moves up and a front air dam drops down in the front at higher speeds), 6-speed getrag, and a great cockpit.

Drop $2000 more (boost controller, air intake, exhaust, boost gauge, regap plugs) and you can spank all of the mentioned above. And drive EVERY day in complete comfort, year round (thanks to AWD/AWS).

It handles every bit as great as it sounds. The only reason it shouldn't be bought over every other car around under $200k is the fact it doesn't have any exotic destinction. The base and SL are fairly common cars and some people don't even know the difference. However, if you want to feel what these super-cars drive like and see that viper or porche getting laughed at as you pull away from them. GET THIS CAR.

Strength:

This car is extremely quick and agile. Going 60MPH or 120MPH this things handles great.

Weakness:

For some reason, could be me, taking off from the stop light at a normal pace is not what the car wants. She seems to need that quick jump.

For someone with out the big bucks sitting in their bank, this car is great to spin around the block.

Strength:

Verry fast car, awesome looks and performance. Long lasting and all weather driver.

Weakness:

Gas gussler, front vent ports crack, after 110,000 miles some smoke from piston rings being worn out. Verry easy to get speeding tickets (but that a plus).

Over all an awesome ride, extremely cool to drive and a super babe magnet. Could make a marrige break up.

Strength:

Beautiful car. Very comfortable with leather and sunroof. Well designed. Affordable car, very reliable as long as you maintain the vehicle. Great power on the highway.

Weakness:

Parts are expensive since 3000GT has been discontinued. Shaky transmission and little room in the back seat. Although if you maintain this vehicle costly repairs can be avoided. Insurance is quite expensive. Slow during take off.

I personally feel comfortable about the power. Very smooth ride in rough weather. Well crafted design. I definetly recommend this vehicle for someone who keeps up with their vehicle maintenance and appreciates sufisticated Japanese engineering.

Strength:

In my opinion, it is a very easy car to handle. It is great even in bad weather. The looks have to be the biggest thing for me since it is a very eye catching car. I've been told that it does tend to have engine problems, but mine went with well over 100,000 miles before it started to show any problems. A question I get asked a lot is it's age. When I tell them it's a '91, they don't believe me because it looks so new. It's hard to find a bad looking model of this car. It's a very fast car, first gear can tend to be slow on mine, but once you hit second, it goes!

Weakness:

It's a very heavy car. But that's never been a major issue for me so far. It's front wheel drive so I can't get any burnouts in it. The only trouble I've had with mine is that I've had to replace the engine. Since it's an older model, it had well over 100,000 miles. Because of that it began to have some problems and we just replaced it. Parts are very hard to find for this car and tend to become expensive. Also since mine is older, it's showing some signs of age(a few paint chips, leather interior is faded and cracked, etc) but that's with just about any car.

I've read a lot of reviews from guys, well now it's time for a girl's opinion. Let's just first off say that this is my baby. It was my first car and it has given me a lot of good experience on the road. With it's sporty body and roaring engine, I get a lot of people that notice it when I'm on the road. It's a guy magnet which is great for me. I've driven some other cars(mustangs, cameros, corvettes, firebirds)and I think that driving the 3000 GT is a lot more enjoyable to drive. People always compliment me on how good it looks, or they just stand and drool as I cruise by

Similar Products Used:

I just recently leased a 2000 camero, but the 3000 GT is by far faster and just more fun to drive. I've had numerous people in mustangs, cameros, corvettes, etc, that have offered(jokingly)to race me. They sure were surprised when I told them to bring it on! I guess they figured a girl like me would just giggle and say no. I've only ever raced it once, I raced a guy with a 2000 Mustang...let's just say I ruined his reputation. He's been the only 1 man enough to give my car some competition.

Strength:

Fun to drive, eye grabber, good in all weather... chicks dig guys with cool cars :) looks faster than it is so people give ya credit when you drive by.. you can do a lot of things to make this car look pretty

Weakness:

Gears stick/grind expecially 1st 3rd and reverse .. takes me around 3 times to get the car to pop into reverse.... even after having the clutch replaced... breaks squeek all the time..

The reason I am putting this in the 3000gt is because it is a 3000gt, with Dodges name on it and there is no Stealth under Dodge..
car is an eye grabber fun to drive good in snow, lots of minor problems

Model Reviewed: 3000GT VR-4 Twin Turbo

Strength:

Acceleration:

The acceleration of this vehicle for it's large size is incredible. It goes 0-60 in approximately 5.3 seconds. First gear takes you to about 40 mph and it gets 0-30 a half second faster than a Corvette.

Handling:

The AWD and AWS allows the car to take highway ramps where the suggested speed is 35mph at 70mph.

Looks:

People have been known to mistake the car for being brand new. When I tell them the car is eight years old they are always shocked.

Sunroof:

The car has a gigantic sunroof that can be taken off and put in the back hatch. It gives you a convertible feel without the danger of being killed in a roll-over.

Extras:

Lombard support and a spoiler that tilts when you get to 45 mph.

Weakness:

Blind spots are a problem but that can be eliminated if your mirrors are adjusted correctly.

No cup holders.

It's a shame that Mitsubishi stopped making these cars. I believe they were fazed out because people would rather pay 45,000$ and get a Mercedes or a BMW.

The car is a blast to drive. Every time you hit the road you know you're in for an enjoyable experience.

The car isn't very costly to maintain. It also gets decent gas milage for a car of it's performance level.

Well This Car Is A Rocket. Its My Dads car and we have eated wrx,mr-2 and any australian supercar (if thats wat they call em). Anyways i love the power this thing has it can beat most cars(keep in mind i mean STOCK) 3000gt's r fast but cannot compare to after market cars. I love the speed and its handling its looks are great. It lives up to the name of a japanese ferrari. When i get my license my dad should b passing down the 3000gt to me and i will add some Mods so i can beat those Skylines =)

Weakness:

Its HEAVY which is a pain.|If the 3000gt was the same weight as the Skyline 3000gt's would b king of the road.

This is a good fast car which i think can b a great car with mods added. In australia where i am there isnt much wif mods.
i would like to boost the turbo to beat some skylines.=)

Model Reviewed: 3000GT SL

Strength:

The 3000GT SL is a beautiful sports car with power, good handling, comfortable interior, etc. Granted, it's no VR-4, but for people who are buying for "Show" rather than "Show and GO" to keep insurance lower or to stay out of trouble, it's a great car. It still has a lot of power for a 3.0 DOHC V6. I'm selling my SL to upgrade to a VR-4, however. :)

Weakness:

Weight! I really wish this car didn't weigh in at 3,800 lbs. Another problem are the 3000GT/Stealth's have bad transmissions. At least in the earlier years. My transmission went out and I know a guy who bought 4 different VR-4's and all of them need transmission work or had transmission work to soon.

The 3000GT VR-4 is the best car for the money, in my opinion. Sure, if I had the money I'd have an NSX, a couple Ferrari's, etc.. but considering I'm only 19 years old, I cannot afford those beauties. Even if I were rich, I'd still have a VR-4 (which would be turned into a drag car more than likely).

During the time I was selling my SL, my parents told me to get something "practical" for now until gas prices get better but I really can't see myself getting something like a Honda Civic or any other regular car. I'll just get the Tator (1982 Honda Civic Hatchback) working and use that to get to work and save miles on the VR-4 and keep it as my "weekend warrior."

Strength:

This car likes to go! I may own the base version with only 161 horses but I have been able to mod it and get upto 150 mph. The look is just as nice as the style. I really love the look they chose for the 99 GT's. Just drive by and the panites DROP!

Weakness:

So it is a little small. Specially in the back. NO ONE EVER SAID IT WAS MADE FOR A FRIGGIN FAMILY!

I truely dig this car. Because I have the base model it has given me lots to work with and change. (Thinking about selling the borla exhaust I have put on it) CONTACT ME! Tons of fun. I dont think I could ask for much more of a fun, good looking, and dependable car as I got for much less money.
