Mustang GT
Strength:
8 cylinder,260hp,MACH460 Sound System,Headroom (front), Traction Control To date (5/13/03)...the car with the least problems.
Weakness:
Rear Headroom, Poor High Beams (headlights), Scary wet weather traction (wide tires), interior fit and finish, starting problems in summertime heat, seatbelt strap cuts across my neck (very dangerous) I bought my Mustang GT shortly after September 11, 2001 when Ford started their 0% for 60 monthes financing. I traded in a 2000 Toyota Corolla on my Zinc Yellow GT. Since the night I took delivery of my GT, I have had problems in the summertime heat with it chugging down when it's cranked. Once started, the engine ran fine but at one time last summer it took me 7 times to finally get it started. On top of that I have had driver seat problems because since 2 weeks after purchase I noticed that my drivers seat leather stitching was crooked and it has now caused a hole to develop in the foam where a bar of the seat frame has created a hole and now the bar is poking me in the leg while I am driving. So what's my problem? A sorry dealership that will not fix problems with the cars they sell. I made numerous trips (30 minutes each way) back and forth last summer because of the chugging and they would only claim each time that there was nothing wrong knowing good and well that they did know what it was doing. They claimed they fixed it the fist time by replacing the idle regulator valve and when that didn't fix it they replaced the fuel pump. Currently the car is running fine until the summer heat kicks in and the problem is bound to start all over again. So overall, I enjoy my car...(as long as the weather is cool) it's problems are minor, some of the trim on the interior is not perfect but without a dealership that will take care of them, those problems become major and the car is still under warranty because my car only has 23,000 plus miles to date. It takes an ACT OF CONGRESS to get anything done there. I would advise to never purchase a vehicle from Ronnie Watkins Ford in Gadsden, Alabama. They may make you a good deal but what's a good deal if they won't take care of the product they sell. Strength:
Can take a beating, can use regular 87 octane gas, Mach 1000 audio system is great. Power everything.
Weakness:
Cheap plastic interior, 3650 Tremec 5 speed trans has a cold weather issue. Insurance at my age is high (200 a month) WOW...that's all I can say. Best bang for the buck. Engine is strong and powerful. Highly recommended with the 5 speed manual although the auto still has a lot of power. Definately turns heads. Exhaust note sounds great stock, even better with 40 series flows. Similar Products Used: 2000 Pontiac V6-Firebird, 2000 Corvette, 2001 Pontiac Trans-Am. |

Performance,great,...Looks-my god,you get the chills, interior, leather is nice,Everything about it is flawless.
Weakness:
No suggestions. Ladies and gentlemen,May I introduce to you my Stang,Hard Top,black on black, stick shift,460 mach stereo,4.6 V8 engine,Did a few work on it,Performance suspension with struts, springs and shocks, front lowered 1.5',rear lowered 1.5',handles way better than the bullitt.dark tinted windows all around, changed the rims to Cobra 2000."chrome" 18'by 10inc rear,9.5inc front.Added the borla exhaust.15hp rate. My car ran 14.19 @95mph in 1/4 mile at Palmdale Ca, and its basically bone stock,Key,with the wider tires and lowered suspension you can decrease your et time without adding any pony's to your GT. Stock gt's run high 14's,oh and take the spare tire out and turn off the traction control off, Other than that This Gt is a God,Black exterior with nice chrome rims, plus lowered, damn, it's a beauty. Can say much.I Can easily take on a Camaro Z28,and I have, rice burners, jesus, Im not even gonna go there. One time I went head on with a S2000 w/turbo.He got me in the begining for about 20 30 feet but Once I hit 2nd gear then shifted to third gear, I had him eating dust, and I wasn't even power shifting. I know It wasn't fare, but hey he started it,thinking he can take on me. yeah right ...Key,its how you drive the car. Many people dont know how to race.,for example,My buddy has a 2002 SS Camaro, And everytime we race, I kick his ass all the time,he is confused on why he cant take on a Stock GT. GT vs SS, 260hp vs 320hp, I figured that people dont know how to use the Horsepower on a powerful vehicle, Like the SS for example, Anyway for folks who plan on purchasing a Vehicle, Get a Mustang GT, or even better a Cobra. lates. absolutley none The car is flat out awsome. It has 207,000 miles on the odometer and still runs great. I have not had one single problem with the car. The engine is completely stock save for a K&N filter, flowmaster mufflers, and 3.73 gears and the car goes 13.70's at 101 at 3200 lbs. with street tires. GT Convertible
Strength:
Great muscle-car look, incredible exhaust note, high-end sound system and a pleasure to drive--even for a commute.
Weakness:
The front seats could be better. Mine has power adjustments but no side support. Long drives require leg-stretching. A gas guzzler for the heavy footed. Backlight for the cruise control would be nice. And the boot for the convertible, which looks nice when in place, can be a pain in the butt to attach. This is the first car I've purchased since becoming a family man that hasn't had a "utilitarian" purpose (read minivan). Now I'm trying to figure out why I waited so long! Mine is a triple-black convertible with the 4.6 V-8. The engine exhaust sound is awesome and the 6-disc CD system cranks clear and hot even with the top down. The glass rear window (w/defogger) is a great feature (unavailable on some more expensive foreign sports cars). Even through this past endless winter, I was nice and warm. Solid and sure-footed in the turns and plenty of acceleration whenever I need it. Exterior looks great w/ spoked mags and low-profile wide tires. The kids ride in the minivan. This is Daddy's car. |

absolutley nothing
Weakness:
everything, from engine to brakes. engine is underpowered, acceleration- i can get better with a gremlin. braking sucks. cornering feels like the engineer's mom. i hate this car. paid too much for it. could have got a corvette for the same price only older. still would have handled, accelerated, and braked easier. ford is (fill in blank). Cobra
Strength:
I have all of the power I could possibly want and the reliability of an overhead cam engine. Revvs cleanly to 6800 rpm. Pulls hard in any gear. Don't have to downshift to pass on the highway. Lot's of torque everywhere in the powerband!
Weakness:
That Ford didn't make this thing sooner! Also that Ford doesn't have enough of these in local dealers' I have long been a chevy fan for many years until the 5.0 Mustang was produced. Since then, I have ben a loyal Ford fan! I also own a Holley supercharged '85 Lx hatch that is extremely fun. Anyways, i was not a big fan of the modular V8 until Ford released the '99 GT. When Ford finally got some respectable power out of 4.6 liters, I changed my mind. Now I own a 2003 Cobra and I must say this is the best value sports car ever made. For under $45,000 you can have a sports car that has a high revving V8 that makes 585 RWHP! A corvette just can't compare. I can go to any gas station and fill up and drive it anywhere I want. The Nissan 350Z just doesn't compare. The cobra flat out toasts it! What strikes me as the most ridiculous is how all the import cars try to race me everywhere I go! I would be cruising on the freeway and some guy in a "souped up" fartmobile will get alongside of me. He flags me and I nod my head. As soon as he gets through downshifting 2 gears, I am already 4-5 car lengths ahead of him! Seriously, you can buy a $8,000 car and spend another $10,000-$20,000 an look absolutely ridiculous, or you can buy a real car that sounds s good as it performs for about the same money new! I will never own a rice burner no matter how much horsepower they say it has. Rear wheel drive is the way to go! Four cylinders will never compare to eight! Similar Products Used: 89 Z28,85 LX Hatch |
