affordability & comfort. the car has room for taller people
Weakness:
electronics, i.e. engine controls Recentyl turned 96,000 miles. problems consist of fuel tank sending unit, leaking radiator intake, transmission speed sensors. the 1st two problems, Dodge said that that is normal??? speed sensors a fluke. However, car rides well and is comfortable, but now has a problem in trips over 100 miles, engine just dies & nobody knows why. my past vehicles (fords) had over 200,000 miles and never problems like this. If I could fix it I might keep the car, but I would not buy another Dodge/Mopar Product Similar Products Used: 1992 ford f250, 302 1984 T-Bird, 302 2003 GMC Yukon |

STANG GT
Strength:
This car has outstanding handling, even when accelerating in turns. The 16 valve 4.6 in my GT has a sound like no other has ever had. Beautiful interior catches everyones eyes everytime they get in for the first time. And the neck-breaking torque and awesome sound system with 6 disc in dash changer basically tops it off. The best thing about this O3 GT is it WHHOOOOOOOOOOPS all these tuners and bumble-bee sounding deals in my hometown. GO FORD!!! BYE HONDA and Mits.
Weakness:
Backseat is too small during certain times! :) First things first... Have you ever read anything stating that the stang GT would beat a Z28?? No! So why would silly people say that the mustang just doesn't do it like the Z, or my brothers Z beats my stang?? No kidding! A stang is popular about like a Harley is and will beat the living H#ll out of any prelude, civic, eclipse, and any other "Fartcan Muffler" car. Poor Takoffs??? You ever rode in an 03' Cobra, or even a Mustang Gt with Slicks so you can actually launch it like its supposed to be done in a drag race?? They quit making the Z28 and all your other heavy, non-handling cars like the firebird because they can't make them affordable like the most affordable V-8 powered performance car, the good ole' Mustang. Not meaning to offend anyone, but stop whining! You test drove it, so its your fault if it doesn't live up to your expectations! And you knew it wouldn't beat a Camaro the first time you looked up the stats online.(and I am not talking about the cobra)Go get your z28, or for that matter, get your ZO6, and I will go get an 03 Cobra if you want to make TRUE AND ACCURATE comparisons... Similar Products Used: I had an 03 Eclipse GT-S, and it was slow until you made it mad and force-fed it with about 5,000 rpm's. Horrible handling, lots of body roll and tire sqawking around corners... |

Ford Mustang Coupe
Strength:
6 cylinder has alot of power, zips around really well. Doesn't do too bad on gas mileage, and full coverage insurance is about $700/month for me. Only $200 more from what I had on the lumina. My opinion is it's more of a girly-car than a "man" car. Stereo system sounds good.
Weakness:
Cannot be driven with even a dusting of snow on the ground. Have to be careful with wet roads, also. Don't buy if you have kids. Back seat is rough to ride in and very little room. Good for 2 member family. Trunk is small also. I got too good of a price on this car to pass it up, they wanted it off the lot to make room for the 2002's. I bought this late model Mustang new in 2001, with only 20 miles on it. The first week, I had to have it back in the shop to fix a filter--wasn't that big of a deal for me. I took it back about 6 months later, I have a whistling sound where the air reflects off the front windshield, which has never been fixed yet. It does not do this all the time, only when the air hits a certain way. All in all, not a bad car, I would probably buy another one. Similar Products Used: lumina |

It has poor takeoffs & just doest compare to any z28 or Trans Am. The fake scoop just looks ugly, and it handles poorly on corners. Ive had this car for about a year & my tranny has been replaced with a new clutch. Really Bad Car!!! I hope GM comes back with the camaro & Trans am, cause these mustangs just dont do it. Weakness:
none Im 16 years old and this is the second mustang that i've owned. My first one was a 1995 5.0L GT with 215 horsepower. It was a great car and ran very well and i had the pleasure of putting a lot of ricers from my school to shame. But now that i have this 4.6L DOHC Cobra with 305 horsepower (stock), around 330 now with the K&N FIPK no one that i have raced, with the exception of my dad, has beaten me. The car handles great especdially with the z-rated BFGoodrich tires it sticks to the pavement like hot bubble gum. I love smoking camaros all the time i hate the F-body cars and im happy that GM stopped making them cause they just couldnt compete with the Stang anymore. Now the Corvette better start watching its back cause the Mustang Cobra is gonna be trampling all over it soon. Oh yeah and just to let you know about my dads car that he beat me in, well actually he smoked me bad, its a 1995 Mustang Saleen S351 supercharged with more than 500 horsepower. That thing has SO much torque its not even funny. Similar Products Used: 1995 Mustang GT |

Strength:
Great styling, good handling, very trouble-free. Well-designed interiors with all instruments and controls visible and within easy reach.
Weakness:
With the exception of the '96, all had a very harsh ride. The 5.0 V-8 got horrible gas mileage (17mpg average). We have owned '66, '80, '85, '89 and '96 Mustangs equipped with everything from the 2.3 litre 4 to the 5.0 V-8. All were stick shifts except for the '89 5.0, which was an automatic. We found the cars to be a lot of fun, sporty, and basically very reliable. We found the 4 cylinder models to be most reliable, while the 5.0, naturally, provided plenty of power. All of them handled well, and I am pleased to see that the car has become progressively more sophisticated over the years. The '96 was the best and smoothest of the ponies we owned, and the V-6 in it provided ample power. I am anxiously awaiting the new generation Mustang that will be out in a couple of years. Mustang LX
Strength:
-Beautiful car. -Interior looks nice. -Drives nice. Not too fast like the V-8 but still gets up and goes. -Even the V-6's exhaust sounds great. -Every car nut deserves to drive a legend.
Weakness:
-The tires on the car are god-awful. You need wider tires the minute you get this car. -Stick shifts terrible. -Fourth to fifth gear requires extra time to maneuver. -Some interior trim seems a bit cheaply made. Actually, my dad bought this about 3 years ago, when the dealer was just starting to get in 2001's. I recently acquired it from him about two weeks ago. Anyway, performance isn't too bad. While it certainly isn't eye catching like the V-8, the exhaust has a cool, mellow sound to it, and 190 HP in such a light car isn't anything to sneeze at. It's definately a car you can just cruise around in. The handling is one issue that Ford needs to correct. You see, the stock tires have no width to them at all. This makes the car handle poorly and has caused Mustangs to randomly lose control when driving in rain. Anyway, me and my dad both agreed that the stock tires have to go, so we slapped on wider tires. Since then, the Mustang has been a complete joy to drive around in. It feels like a completely different car with wider tires. So far the car has 53K miles on it and have had no problems with the car. The only problem we have experienced was really a mistake the factory made while painting the trunk. Apparently, Ford screwed up with the clear coating, causing a section of the paint to have a urine-colored tint to the paint. After leaving the car at the dealer for a couple of days, (why they wouldn't let us keep the car and just order the trunk is beyond me)the problem was remedied. As for the interior, it looks quite nice. Though some of the paneling seems a bit cheaply made. Sound system is pretty good for a Ford. Drives smoothly and nice, but the five-speed shifts awful. Unlike other sticks I have driven, shifting actually requires muscling the stick. And don't get me started on shifting from 4th to 5th! Overall, this isn't a bad car. While Ford could've done better when designating the parts to be used, I enjoy driving it around. Non functional hood scoop. Twitchy rear end suspension. Fifth gear (who uses fifth gear to race) Waking in windows. Low redline. Suspension too rough for me *It's like buying a lowered car for goodness sake* GT's pull hard off the line. 2nd and 3rd gear are the joy gears!!! Got the looks and the power. Minor upgrades help the car even more. 3.73 gears, exhaust, x-pipe, intake put ridiculous more power. What else can I say?? Power for less money that a BMW. FORD RACING BABY!!!! |
