Strength:
power, simplicity. is a true sports car. the ones i have had were corner carvers (except the mach 1) and they go on the belief of light weight and big engines.
Weakness:
they are everywhere. more than likely your neighbors' is faster. so keep on modifying. i love mustangs. i am on my 4th, and i am only 22. my first(gt) was super fast. my second was a 69 mach 1 was super powerful, but hard to control. the 3rd was an 89 lx that i was doing body work to and never had the engine in. the 4th is my svo. great, feels as powerful as the gt i had, but with a turbo 4. these cars are super simple to work on, and cheap too. even the 69 was cheap on parts and you can walk into a store and walk out with the right part. have to wait forever to "fix" my constantly breaking porsche 944. Strength:
Great style and excellent price, performance up to 150,000 miles, and all around beauty.
Weakness:
Electronics, seats, squeaky things, and rain handling. My Pony is stylish, fun, exciting, and sexy. the car has never had any problems till it hit 150,000 miles. I had to replace some electronics in the transmission and replace a chip in the computer. The car no shakes, raddles, and squeaks. The problem will cost me another $500-$700 tom fix. the interior is fine but not to my likings. The sound system is okay and the seats hurt my back after thirty minutes of driving or sitting. The car handles good, but not as good in the rain. But all in all, if this car broke down, I would'nt fix or keep it, but I would get another one. Similar Products Used: none |

Ford Mustang GT
Strength:
At least for the 94-95 GT Mustangs -Stock HorsePower is high (220)Torque is i think what made me fall for this car head over heels though. -Great stock sound system -gotta love that american muscle look -the ever so soothing V8 5.0L rumble
Weakness:
-FORD MUSTANGS SEEM TO HAVE MAJOR ELECTRONICS PROBLEMS. drive around and you will see mustangs will usually have similar electronic problems that happen rather often (headlights burnout, 3rd back light burnout, fog lights burnout, power seats, dash panel gauges like temperature and oil) -Obviously gas mileage is rather low (for me 14MPG on a relatively stock GT) -stock rims are in my opinion hideous (except the bullit and saleens) -interior looks rather cheap and makes a lot of squeaking noises when driving -bad traction in rain -lots of tire wear .... but it could be lessened if you change your driving habits -back seats are so cramped that it is almost torture to have to be forced to sit in there -IMPORTANTLY, 94 and 95 models had a problem with the hood ripping apart and unfortunately...has happened to me where my hood ripped off on the freeway. it was a recall issue so ford dealer will fix it for you for free. I received this car as a 16 year old so I must warn parents, do not buy your teenage son a GT mustang. Although the pure stylish muscle GT car will be the greatest thing that can happen to a teenage kid, it is big worries on the parent's side. Traction in the rain, even with my Z performance Yokohama tires, was really bad but it makes sense because it has a 60/40 weight ratio with rear wheel drive putting about 300lbs of torque on the back end. Also, i don't know about other people's mustangs but i had a negative cambridge on the front tires. On top of that, it is almost a crime not to burn rubber once in a while with 300lbs of massive torque, thus tires are expensive. Gas bills alone i paid 200 a month. But still, as a driver and not a teenager, the car really gives you a lot of power for the relatively low price you pay for. The stock mach 460s sound awesome-- possibly one of the best stock sound systems. Looks of that ballsy ameican muscle with the muscle to back it up. I'd buy another one if i could. Similar Products Used: however, heed my words, if you are a single guy or girl who makes enough money to pay for a 15mpg mileage and likes power, this car is an awesome, fun car to drive. All the weaknesses i have listed is not THAT big of an issue if you are, once again, single and is more concerned and excited by power than luxury. Personally, i would love to have another GT mustang. |

Cosmetic Details, they stink!! Replaced 2000 Roush Mustang Coupe with NEW 2001 left over Saleen Speedster in April of 03. I like the looks of the Saleen better but found the build quality of the Roush to be better then the Saleen. Within the first week of ownership the paint and clear coat on all the Saleen body parts began to flake and chip to where the front facia looks like hell!!! I contacted Saleen and sent them photos and they have not responded. I drove the Roush 70,000 miles without any problems and the paint looked great the day I traded it. If you are looking for a Saleen call Laramie Peak Motors, they are GREAT!! If you want a performance Mustang consider the Roush!! Lots of power for a 6. Handeling is awesome. braking is good. accelleration is good.
Weakness:
rust around wheel wells. My friend has the exact same year and model as me and has the same rust spot. Stock sound system was weak. But couple subs and pioneers fixed that. This car is amazing! Its Only a 6 Cylinder, but crazy for a six. Handles very well, accelleration is amazing in lower gears. Shifts smoothly. Plastic on dash makes noise, but what car with plastic in the dash doesn't. An Excellent car for having fun! Similar Products Used: 1966 Mustang coupe 289 1992 mustang convertable 5L |

Mustang GT
Strength:
fast, decent handling (for a sports car), awesome stereo, great exhaust tone, chicks dig it
Weakness:
pricey tires that need to be replaced often, snow traction (if you are experienced with a manual tranny + v8 you will be fine) I just bought a 2000 mustang GT and can't say enough about it. The car is fast as hell. 0 - 60 in 5.5 seconds. As for the handling, it does fine. I am concidering putting a drop kit on it but probably won't do that until i reitre the car from daily usage. The car looks great on the 17" pony 5 stars (stock). I used to own a 90 lx 5.0 and have noticed many similarities about the cars. Shifting is similar, exhaust sound is similar, but a little better (no need for aftermarket). Mach 460 stereo is the best stock stereo i have ever heard. i'm not much into the subwolfers but i don't need them to acheive seat vibrating bass. the back speakers have 2 seperate amps ( one for each speaker) and tweeters in the front corners of the door by the mirrors. For all of you camaro enthusiasts, get lost. For the $4,000 difference in price between the GT and Z-28 I think I'll put a supercharger on and blow away a corvette!!! Don't get me wrong, i like the z's but it's not worth the extra money. THe only set back about this car is if you want the ultimate performance you will need to purchase a new set of z-rated tires about every 20,000. This is my daily driver and i live in chicago so i am going to buy all season tires with a W rating. aparently continental Extreme Control seem to be the best choice acording to the reviews. With a W rating i will be able to get up to 158 mph, but with a 400 tread rating, i don't know if i'll want to. Overall i would say a very good choice. Similar Products Used: 1990 mustang lx 5.0 |

Strength:
looks sensational, goes quck for the V6 auto, milage not too bad at all
Weakness:
Here we go, Oil leak fron end engine, the 5th trip to Ford fianlly settled that (5 trips to diagnose and oil leak). Rattles and noises from the dash, 2 trips still not fixed after complete wiring harness rebind. (I was informed by the service rep. All Mustangs have noisey dashes, just look at the amount of plastic there....) kind of like every other care built after 1980, Both entire door seals replaced due to water leaks......All in all I have driven a Focus (Courtersy Care) just about as much as the Mustang. Overall a great stylish reliable vehicle. Looks great, drives well and I wish that I could love it more but......save your money and buy something with a little more quality in the build Similar Products Used: Pontiac Grand Prix.....1992 total garbage. Never buy a GM car over 5 years old, Ford Focus...the trusty Courtesy Car...seemed great |
