Very attractive theft item. What can I say, this is my 3rd Mustang, and I love it. I have had problems: thermostat, clutch, oil leaks... But I'm the third owner and the car is almost 20 years old. It still has killer power, excellent handling, and great for bolt-on modifications. You can't beat a Mustang for an affordable hot rod. Similar Products Used: Mustangs |

Strength:
Fast for a six cyl. Handles very well on corners. Fun to drive.
Weakness:
Brakes (only if you neglect the darn things) I read many reviews and the only one's that talk smack about the Stang is from these adolecents who's parents gave them the car. It's sad that these kids don't appreciate what they are given. Hey parents, make them buy their own car. I bet they will have something to complain about then.;) My 02 Mustang is great, the only problems I have had was due to it being stolen. Even then, the warranty covered it. Brakes are a problem but aren't they on any vehicle. That's just routine maintainence. Duh. Try replacing the pads once and awhile people. I bought mine used and the brakes were already destroyed. It's the driver not the car. Similar Products Used: This is my third mustang and won't be the last. |

V-6 and Saleen convertible
Strength:
V-6: NO problems at all. Decent gas mileage, good sound sytem; worst problem I've had is an expansion crack in the windshield from a rock chip! Saleen: Best car for the money by far. The looks, the power, everything in it is 120% worth it!
Weakness:
The oil leak on the Saleen sucked... In the V-6, the stock cd player doesn't have enough power for the little mini-subs in the trunk, so I got a Sony cd player and the sound system sounds 3x better. Saleen's gas mileage sucks a lot, but if you can afford the car, you can afford gas lol. These Mustangs are GREAT. The V-6 has always been reliable and has definitely been worth the money. I got it with 28k miles on it and now it's at 46k and has had no problems at all. The gas mileage is great for long trips, like most cars. The gas mileage around town is horrible in stop-and-go traffic with the 5-speed tranny. The 5-speed is the only way to go with these cars. My ex-girlfriend had an automatic 2000 V-6 convertible and it was much less unresponsive than the 5-speed. The Saleen is an AMAZING car. We had a problem with oil leaking, but we were told with the V-8's that it's a usual problem. The Saleen has 20k miles and that's the only problem we've had. The Saleen is so fast and the convertible with that car just turns heads everywhere. Soon, the V-6 will have to go because I would like the GT or cobra for speed's sake. No problems Good sized engine Looks good Really good interior space for a small pickup
Weakness:
Exterior paint job I have the quad-cab SR5 PreRunner version. This is a solid little pickup truck. No problems, other than the hand-brake light came on, but no brake problem. The V6 has plenty of pickup (for a truck anyway), and hauls a full load of people and stuff with no noticeable loss of power. The back seats are very roomy. The bed is just big enough to haul landscaping stuff and building materials for my suburban house basement, with some creative loading and bunji-cording. I was too cheap to get 4 wheel drive, but 300 lbs of sandbags work fine on the few days we get winter here. The exterior paint job could be thicker. good looks, good power...It's a ford....
Weakness:
high insurance cost, poor fuel economy, people want to race..get beat a lot... I deided to buy the mustang after test driving a pontiac transam....I liked the power in the transam, but the seating was poor and the overall reliability with them is poor, so I chose the mustang,,It was a good car overall ..It had decent power and good leather..The stereo was good..I did have trouble after only one week, I went out into the driveway and it was dead....Had to have it towed in..It turned out to be the AIC..Air idle control..dealer replaced it..all was fine for a few miles and then my car was dead in the driveway again...This time after towing it into the dealership, it was the fuel pump.....It also had problems with it trying to lurch forward when your foot was on the brake as though it was possesed...I think the rear wheel bearing s was going out when i traded it for a ford f-150.I overall loved the car...But the insurance rates combined with poor fuel econmy and payments got to be too much....I had straight pipes ran on mine and you never heard a car sound so good... Looks great! Rides great! Races great! Superb value!
Weakness:
Head lights do that fogging thing, but other than that, no major stuff at all. All I can say about the Mustang is that it is a reliable, great-looking, and affordable car! My parents got me this car in 98. It is a 5 speed manual, so I learned how to drive a manual shift on this car. The car has given me no major problems for six years, and when I got it, it already had 11k miles on it. I did have to replace the clutch about two years ago, but that was because I learned on this car. Not to mention it looks great even after all these years! It's royal opaque blue with the total sports package (alloy wheels, spoiler, factory tent etc.) I am considereing getting another Stang this year. I have driven the Cobra convertible, and the GT convertible. I also drove the Mach1 (It's so BOSS!!!) For the price, performance, and reliability------UNBEATABLE. I have recently driven the 04 Z car (which was fast, but didn't ride to good), BMW 330ic (smooth ride, kinda pricey though), and the Mazda RX-8 (too tinkery), but none of them have the combined value, performance and reliability of the Mustang--in my experience.) VERY good looking car. Fast enough for me.
Weakness:
Back seat should have been more trunk. The seat belt chokes the crap out of me. I need to know what that burning smell is This is my first mustang and first convertible and I love it, it is perfect for Texas Summer weather. I really love the look, and it does draw attention that I did not get in my 99 Chevy Malibu. However, I have been smelling something burning, but no signs of smoke or engine problems. Once I find out what that is, hopefully it will be long live MUSTANG. Oh yeah! can people quit pulling up beside me trying to race. I just like to chill out!! |

problem with wiring on the Fog lights and Tail lights I have had one problem with my car, when I use the fog lights it burned out my tail lights. other than that problem that will happen to all mustangs, there is nothing wrong with mustangs. I have also put aluminum heads, and headers on my car, so I have an extra horsepower and torque I was fifteen when I got a job to pay for this car, because I saw it and I loved it. Mustang Premium Convertible
Strength:
Passing power Decent top end Smooth working convertible top Good quality interior Classic looks, and the girls that it attracts ;) Good ABS system
Weakness:
Terrible winter driving, even with traction control A few small rattles in the roof (what convertible under $30,000 doesn't have at least one or two) Trying to keep the white top CLEAN OEM tires suck really bad. Goodyears are junk. My Mustang is a 2003 V6 in redfire with a white top and white leather interior. I traded in a 2001 V6 hardtop to get it. I think it is a good car.. plenty of power.. great looks. I have had more women with this car after 6 months than I have had in my entire life if that gives you any clues. Handling is good, except during the winter months. The car is in storage right now. I could have bought a GT for around the same price but there has been rumors of engine block problems with the GT, and the V6 has plenty of power for me anyway. Plus, it is a dependable pushrod based engine like the 5.0's of yesteryear. My car has all options, Mach 460 sound system, leather, ABS, Traction Control.. and most important of all.. no fake hood scoop like the GT's have. That is called American rice. My car is slower than a GT but at least it don't pretend to be faster with a hoodscoop like they do. All in all, it's a beautiful car that runs well.. especially with the classic looking white over red styling. I always tell people that want to race me that you may win, but the girls will still come running to my car even after I lose. :D Similar Products Used: 2001 Ford Mustang 1993 Eagle Summit 1999 Plymouth Breeze 1999 Ford Escort |
