Ford Mustang (2010 and older) Sports

DESCRIPTION

The Mustang has been redesigned for 2010. Fresh new sheet metal wraps around an updated interior, giving the icon a more modern look and feel.

The Mustang is available either as a coupe or convertible. Each is available with a V6 or a V8. The 210-hp 4.0L V6 carries over unchanged. The 4.6L V8 receives an increase in power - producing 315-hp for 2010. A five-speed manual transmission is standard; a five-speed automatic is optional. Strength:

I like the way the stereo sounds. Also the way the dual exaust goes with my 95 V-6 mustang. The fact that everyone stars at it as I drive down the street.

Weakness:

The only two weaknesses is the fact it burns to much gas and it attracts all of the police

I paid about 11,500 for it and at the time it didn't seem that much but now Ifound out it was over priced by 1,000

I bought this car BRAND NEW, They were just unloading all the cars from that big truck thing, I saw, I HAD TO HAVE THAT ONE! It had 7 Miles on it. I was ripped of at $23,000.00! Well I babied it for two reason #1, IT'S A MUSTANG! #2, You are supposted to be gentle on the engine for the first 800 miles or so. I was!, Never going over 55 mph! Well First thing I noticed is IT SUCKED UP GAS!!! With in the first 1,000 miles, The alarm went postal! Sometimes If did not arm or lock it , It would just go off! Cost me $500.00 Because I did not get any warranty. At 2,450 miles, IT OVERHEATED! New radiator : $423.00 I sold it the next week to someone I knew and now it has 6,000 miles and it overheated AGAIN and cracked a block due to the heat and now it has been sold as a fixerupper or for parts!!!

$23,000

Strength:

strong V6, great looks

Weakness:

handling

I have driven this car for a little while, and would like to put my thoughts about it here.

The car I am reviewing is a black 2000 V6 Mustang. The engine makes the car quick, but doesn't allow it to keep up with the V8 model. It is faster than most cars with a V6 engine. The Mustang is at tad bit faster than the V6 Camaro, which is probably due to the fact that is a few hundred pounds lighter. The 5 speed manual is quite smooth, but I have shifted it incorrectly on occassion.

The seats are just ok, for they could be a LOT more comfortable than they are. The seating position is much like one in a passenger car(as opposed to the almost lying down position of the Camaro), and it is MUCH easier to see the edges of the car. Rearward vision, however, is nothing to be happy about.

This car is an excellent value for anyone who wants a pretty fast car to get them from point A to point B in style!

Strength:

1. Sound
2. Power
3. Looks

Weakness:

1. A bit on the large size (Not a big deal to me)
2. Long Shifter Throw
3. Seats dont lean back very far, and not having power seats on the passenger side suxs.
4. On the gas steering (its rear wheel drive so its to be expected)
5. Headlights dont seem to be very effective at night (dont light up a large area in front of you which is important at higher speed!!!)

All in all I love this car.
I wanted the Spring Feature Package which adds polished rims, black stripes down the hood with a larger hood scoop and side scoops.
This isnt the fastest car on the road, but it has a lot of power. The take off and acceleration is extremely fun to toy with. I like it when those rice burners with 10in rims try to race past you with those chainsaw mufflers. I just laugh and drop it down a gear and go. hehe.

One thing I have noticed with mine is the transmission thumps hard when the car is in neutral and you shift to first or second from idle. Its almost as if the clutch needs adjusted, but I have done that.

I also like the cobra, but for the extra $$$ you can throw on a few aftermarket parts and make the GT faster and more powerful that a cobra.

I read another review and I agree with the person, the odometer reflects on the windshield at night and is very annoying. (Also, there is no key hole on the passenger side door which I thought was wierd).

All in all, a great car thats fun to drive and has plenty of power. I would suggest adding an intake, exhaust and headers and a mod chip though.

I would take this car anyday over a Camaro or Firebird w/more horsepower. I cant stand the long nose on both cars.

Strength:

Lots of power, great styling, not as heavy or bulky as Camaro or Firebird, nice handling, steering, braking, visibility. And it's affordable!

Weakness:

The quality and ride comfort of the car could be better.

The Mustang GT is an awesome car. The Camaro and Firebird both cost too much and are too big. The Mustang is a much better buy with superior handling, steering, quality, and ride comfort, but there is still room for improvement in the quality and comfort areas. However, this isn't a luxury car and it is very affordable.

Strength:

the sweet styling and the hood scoop, price, available options, gas mialage, power

Weakness:

small backseat means i can't take along more than one friend, fog lights aren't applicable for the v6

I bought it yet however i am looking to lease a 00' mustang v6 because the insurance rates are much lower and the price is much lower which allows me to add all the goodies and still be below the gt base price. I am getting a silver paint job, 16 inch wheels, spoiler, black charcoal leather, mach 460 system, convenience group, abs package, and a black stripe all this lists at 20,000 i will pick it up for 18000 which in my book is great value. it's not for families, more like a single guy looking for chicks and for them i would recommend it

I like the look of the car and so does everybody else. Overall this car is the best and a dream come true.

Weakness:

Well it got a 400 big block under the hood so it poor on gas.

I would recommend this car but they dont make them anymore, but the new mustangs are still the best cars around.buy them or get a old gas gusler like me.

Weakness:

Bad winter car

I paid $5K (Canadian) for my car, back in March of 1998. With the engine built, 3.73 gears, subframe connectors, shifter, and other minor things, this car is a riot to drive. The aftermarket for Mustangs is one major reason I'm sticking with them. 300 horsepower is attainable in the 5.0 cars for cheap, and you can do incredible things with these machines. Mine's been stone-reliable, never broken anything despite repeated abuse. Interior is basic, but liveable, although I wish I had a cupholder. A real blast of a summer car! Too bad it's not winter-worthy, scary in ice/snow.

Strength:

Attention getter, fun to drive, easily made into a GT look alike.

Weakness:

HEAD GASKET Problem! First came the overheating, then the blown head gasket, now the engine is knocking. Worst part is, it is no longer in warranty. Have had problems with rotars warping. The v6 is pretty sluggish compared to the camaro v6 and other newer v6's.

Would not recomend anyone to buy a 1994 or 95 v6 mustang, if they are no longer under warranty for the head gasket problem. Way to expensive to fix! Got a good deal on mine when I bought it, but the repair costs have more then made up for it.

Strength:

Very cheap to make VERY fast. A lot of fun to drive around aimlessly in. Has been absolutely reliable so far and is showing no signs of being anything but.

Weakness:

When it was stock the coolant temp rose pretty fast during agressive driving, but it never overheated.

Paid $13,200 with 44,000 miles on the clock. Was actually looking for an F-Body from GM until I sat in and drove them. If you're looking for a quick (not fast) and extremely pleasing and fun to own car the Mustang is highly recomended.

Similar Products Used:

New 1999 Camaro Z28 was fast but very boring, Used 1995 + 1997 Firebird V6 were ratty feeling (squeekes and rattles EVERYWHERE), 2000 Cougar V6 doesn't have the aftermarket support or torque.
