Strength:

Affordable, Rebuildable dominating street power. Alpha Male presents in an automobile

Weakness:

staying earthbound at 155mph+. could use major suspension improvements but are affordable and easly done

! I am just turning 51 years old this year. I have a 11 year old daughter. I''m a late bloomer. Her best friends'' mother asked me the first day I picked her up at school in my new Very Cool and Clean White/ Tan Cobra with the top down, "And What are you compensating for?" I said, "My childhood".Lost in the 60''s as it was,I could never justify a the cost convertible sports car just for myself. My car! Not the high millage- work transportation- school bus -famaly van. I didn''t pay much attention to the movie" The Fast And The Furious" but the first time I drove A Cobra, was at a dealership. The car had just come in for resale and it Hadn''t been detailed. It was dirty, Black/Black and had been run HARD for the 40K on the speedo. I wanted to see what everybody was talking about. I loved the feel of power. Raw affordable power, Rebuildable and Improvable power. A great car stock as almost 90% of the cobras are stock so "they" say. I have owned BMW 3,5 and 7 series cars new (rented) along with an older Mercedes coupe. Great driving machines all to be sure until you need repairs. Oh MY God!!! Not cars, in my opinion, to own more than 3 or 4 years during the lease (rental) then, thrown away unless you have developed some spiritual attachment that supersedes your sense of value. If you can still get insurance, you can Lease another. I purchased my Cobra W/300+ hp and for $500 to $2000, I can, and have easily bolted on another 75 to 200 hp. Almost Scary fast, Almost. The 2002 Cobras come stock with a stock Supercharged and factory warenteed 400 HP. Thay can easly be bumped to 475 hp What is the Lease company going to think of Joe Ultimate-driver for adding NOS to his spiffy new family sedan as he probably can''t afford performance engin work to be done? It would be cheeper to fly Hans out from Munich for a few weeks to do the work than go to the local shop He could be forking over that 30K he was "saving" when he decided on a lease. My Tail lights are affordable, replaceable, upgradeable and paid for as I wave Good-By to Joe !!and I can afford the bump to my good driver status for my tickets forthcomeing. Conspicuous spending will always be for the inexperianced car owner as thay need to be seen in that Euro styled cars that I also love. If you want to kick ass on the street, Buy American and stick with something you can realy afford and duplicate.

to anyone who doesn''''t know...these cars are budget performance...they cut corners to give you something to be a winner in...it was a sacrifice for speed..and ill take it

Weakness:

its a dying breed...uneducated morons keep selling these things short and buying cute cars

why dont you put down real numbers while you are making opinionated statements....the 99-02 v6 mustang runs a mid 14 quarter mile stock....your car is over 15-16 stock..and it takes more than 20-30 horses to make up for the difference...oh yeah and handling wise my 99 cobra would absolutely beat your ass on a skidpad...look it up...oh yeah and while you may think i may not know what i am talking about...i came from japan...i am in the military and lived there for over 2 years...and you know what...no-one races civics integra''''s or eclipses..none of your underpowered "cute" import front wheel drives...with any power you have to totally redesign your motor and drivetrain because its built for your stock 120 ft lbs of torque...oy yeah my car runs a mid 13 stock..try keeping up...you can talk smack but you cant hang. oh the reason there was no mustangs or camaros in the fast in the furios is because they were drag racing...and while they have many daily driven 8-9 second(yes 1/4 mile) mustangs and camaros..all of your 15-16 second cars cant keep up..those cars were given the illusion of speed...look up the actual cars..none of them even broke into the 11''''s in real life..and gas mileage is in direct relation to horsepower...it takes a certian amount of gas to be burned to make a certain amount of horsepower...which is not dependent on engine size...you are really an uneducated kid who thinks his "all show" with an exhaust...and oh maybe a chip is fast while in reality your numbers wont show it...and handling your puny 6 in wide tires can only hold on so much..my tiny 17 by 8"s come stock on my car..as well as gt''''s did u ever read the super street test with a mustang gt vs a acura integra type r...yes it was a real test look it up...the mustang gt absolutely smoked it in a straight line and 2 out of the three road courses they went on the mustang beat it...and super street published it. oh yeah and while a s2000 a real sports car not your measly front wheel drive may run and handle on par with my car it also has a 32000 base msrp with the lots charging a 3000 + luxury tax..trust me i looked into one...you need to be educated and meet me on the street or the track and put some money where your mouth is....and i will be happy to show you a sight you probably know all to well...a domestics tail lights

Strength:

Styling the brushed aluminum gas door, shifter, and pedals look great. The handling is tight! The Mach One stereo will blow you away.

Weakness:

NOT ENOUGH POWER! What the hell is wrong with Ford. Ford as a company SUCKS the DEALERS are THIEVES. Their was a few small problems with the car such as a broken headlight switch, missing soare key and floor mats and bad orange peal in the clear coat in the door jams. Eight months later I gave up trying to get the dealer to fix these issues and even wrote to Ford themselves. Now the Ford corp has said that they would take care of this but that was TWO MONTHS AGO and guess what I''m still getting jerked from dealer to dealer! THEY ALL STINK.

The Bullitt is not just a GT as you may think. It started off as a GT but with some modifications. The 4.6ltr has been pushed up to about 275 horespower and 315 pounds of torque. It has the same breaking system and 57-mm twin throttle found on the Cobra. Also it has a modified suspension shocks ans struts. It has a faster acceleration off the line than the regular GT and the handling is incompareable. And with only 6500 produced its a sure to be collectable. But you will need to add a SUPERCHARGER!!

Power, looks, ride, factory system, and the heads that turn make you feel good.

Weakness:

Have found none yet except for the fact it drinks like a V8 but that was expected.

I have not one complaint about this car. It still amazes every time I drive it. The Mach 460 system kicks and especially after I added my own subs to it. The take off on this car is excellent, good handling, leather seats absolutely awesome. Bought it brand new for the 0% financing incentive. People just love to look at it when it goes by. It has the 4.6L V8, bullet rims, decals on side, some custom ones for the hood scoop, windshield and rear bumper. It has tinted windows and power everything. Have had it as far as 200 kph comfortably before I decided I didnt want to beat on her too bad. I am totally impressed by this car and I believe I made a good decision here. Love it.

Engine leaves room for mods. Soft leather. Great Sound (Not the high pitched lawnmower engine like the Civics). Makes that Modified Civic I just passed look like SH*T!

Weakness:

No locking gas cap. Backseat, why is it there? They should just take it out and make the car smaller. A little too high off the ground.

When shopping for a car I looked at all cars Domestic and Import there is no car out there that can touch the Mustang for the price. I got mine loaded with every option there was for it. It was the best money I have ever spent. The V8 is big enough to provide any extra power needed (after modifications). Put a few grand in this car, and it will beat a stock Camaro SS for a smaller tag (looks better too). Sure, you can buy a Civic and take one of these. However, you can buy one of these, and take a Corvette! **Note: I gave this an overall of 4 stars just to leave room (the car is not perfect yet). No problems have ever occured with any mustang I have ever owned. This is a great car! Best Buy Under $25000.

this car is my fourth mustang and first cobra. This car performs. I have had it on some of the most challenging roads in the kentucky to smokey mountain area. The suspension is supple enough not encourage trips to the chiropractor, but firm enough to only allow minimal body roll. Though some oversteer is present when getting on the gas hard after exiting a turn, it can be quickly brought into line with a slight flick of the wrist. Not only does the cobra corner well it also has great acceleration. with a few minor bolt-ons it ran 0-60 in 4.8 sec. better watch out boxster and s2000. The car also has excellent brakes. 4-wheel disc with ABS and 13in. front rotors realy hauls down the speed quickly. Though it does not get the best gas mileage, i would take it any day over some weed eater rice car. Performance and an all-American v8 rumble is what matters. To those interested in comfort and styling more then performance, this is still the car for you. The seats in leather trim are very adjustable and quite comfortable, providing plenty of support when pulling lateral Gs. The fit and feel of the steering and 5-speed manuel are good. While the white face guages are easily visible, except at dusk they are a bit difficult to distinguish. The out side appearence is a good mix of modern and classic styling themes, that it received in the 1994 redesign. over all it is a great car with great performance that can easily put any stuck-up import back in its place....behind you.

Well, for one I am unbiased, and have owned both the import and domestic sport coupes. If you are looking for a car with straight line speed to have fun with stoplight wars and compeditive drag racing, you are much better off with a Rwd V8 car like the mustang gt. If you want a car with good handling, refinement, and something that is more economical, but with the sacrifice of having less straight line speed and torque, buy an import. It''''''''s personal preference. Don''''''''t knock either.

Handbuilt engine! It''s 1 of the highiest revving american engines. Just love how it sounds. Strong front suspension, I got hit a 6 inch street curb at 20mph and no damage at all. just couldn''t believe it. Value, low depreciation Gas mileage isn''t that bad as I expected I get 220-240 miles out 13 gallons with my way of driving in city.

Weakness:

Seats- head rests! SVT must forgot about them. Bumpy ride. The suspension is too soft, but strong though. Could be with targa roof, like supra.

I bought it with less than 22k miles on it, all stock, except K&N and shorter gears. To improve grip and cornering balance I had to get wider rims to put 275 tires on rear and leave 245 in front: way better, less fish-tailing. I raced it with new Camaro SS SLP 3 times. The first 2 times I had him, thanks to few tricks like octane boosted, deflated tires, half-way powershifting. Hate to admit, generally SS is slightly faster.

Boy does this car suck. It shifts like crap, it losses to every camaro SS, and the engine breaks down easily. Not only is it the worse mustang i''ve ever driven, but it competes below the ranks of a camaro and firebird. I would not recommend any mustang new or old.
