Ford Mustang (2010 and older) Sports

DESCRIPTION

The Mustang has been redesigned for 2010. Fresh new sheet metal wraps around an updated interior, giving the icon a more modern look and feel.

The Mustang is available either as a coupe or convertible. Each is available with a V6 or a V8. The 210-hp 4.0L V6 carries over unchanged. The 4.6L V8 receives an increase in power - producing 315-hp for 2010. A five-speed manual transmission is standard; a five-speed automatic is optional. All Mustangs are equipped with standard electronic stability control and LED sequential tail lamps for enhanced safety.

Strength:

Quick Acceleration Rear Wheel Drive Fun Car Gets better gas milage than larger engine options Passing gear allows needed power when necessary.

Weakness:

Gas Milage (17 mpg city) Sudden Acceleration may surprise those who have become accustomed to the gradual acceleration of fuel enjection. The car has positive rate turns, in other words, the car will hold a turn and the steering wheel will not quicky return to center. The car will vibrate at highway speeds (70+ mph) Wind noise at higher speeds. Rust weakness on floor boards. I had my car undercoated and have not had this problem. Wind shield wippers are slow.

Model Reviewed: SVT Mustang Cobra

Strength:

4.6L DOHC engine has more power than was anticipated. It can get you from 0-60 fast! Seatings - nice trim, side bolsters give the driver a solid feeling behind the wheel. Wheels - nice polished wheels with a black center cap, displaying SVT Rear - amber turn signals embedded into the tail lights, unlike the GT (which uses the tails as both), bumper cover with COBRA embossed. IRS - regardless of what any other 99-01-03 cobra owner will say, the IRS is a beneficial addition to the car and its heritage. After all, the Cobra is advertised as a ROAD car, not a dragster (which everyone thinks it is).

Weakness:

Higher than normal ride height. - This car must be lowered a minimum of 1" Seating - while comfortable, the seats make the driver feel as if they're driving a semi. they are that high. not even my '66 seats are that high. Transmission - this car should have received the same transmission as the 2000 Cobra R.

I have owned this car since October 2001. It has given me many hours of driving pleasure and it definitely catches the eyes of other drivers when riding on the streets. I test drove three other vehicles before deciding on the Cobra, with the only other comparable car being the Mustang Bullitt. Compared to the Bullitt, the Cobra is more refined and has better throttle response. It also handles better despite the less-than-adequate BF Goodrich tires that are standard on the car. The IRS makes this car handle like a FWD vehicle, and is definitely much welcomed. This car was definitely worth the money I paid for it! The financing was just as worth it (0%)! :)

Strength:

Great ride and comfort, controls easy to read and use. Superb styling and handling. Excellent sound system.

Weakness:

For a V-6 in a Mustang needs atleast 220 Horsepower, independant rear suspension would be something to think about.

I love this car, who cares about room, comfort, it's a sports car, although it is quit comfortable, nice ride, love the Premium Package, the clutch and shift patterns are a lot better than previous models. True Blue awsome color with the medium graphite interior, god bless the person who put traction control in these things. Sure puts an import in its place.

Model Reviewed: Premium Coupe

Strength:

Fast and very nimble (the independent suspension these new guys have helps). Excellent stereo system, loud and clear. Lovely exterior and interior color. Tons of features for it's price. Very organized interior, easy to reach and view all instruments and panels. Easy to use in dash 6 CD player. Nice interior. Smoky headlights look nice on the car. Nice sized spoiler, not a harrier jet size and not a tiny ledge (why even stick a spoiler on that size) size.

Weakness:

Build quality not as good as my 95 Mustang (some pieces look crooked or it could just be the design of the car). No holes for my hood protector (needed to pull two plugs off the insulation for the holes). Not much interior change from the 1995 Mustang. Missing the clock module in the middle of the dash. Small rear seats, but larger than some comparable cars (this can be good because it keeps people out of your car *grin*). Smaller trunk space than the 95, but this is to be expected with the Mach 460 system taking the upper top of the trunk for the 2 amplifiers and such. Speed limit not high enough to truly drive my car!

After swearing to wait for the next incarnation of the Mustang I folded like a wet piece of paper when I saw this one. The color, Mineral Grey, and the light parchment leather looked wonderful together. At night it looks dark grey and in the day like gold. It's a head turner. I love the minimal curves and design, no funky Celica design. The stereo system, Mach 460, rocked (not blew away my hearing like the Mach 1000 did). The little tail at the end and the smoky front headlights charmed me to no end. I like that there are 55 more horsepower on this baby versus the 145 I had on my 95. I like the standard features of the ABS and traction control. When driving stick in this rear wheel drive, traction control is a must (I have spun out on the 95 too many times when it rains, I am unfortunately a little chicken hearted). Yes this car guzzles gas like no tomorrow but upgrading from the 1995 Mustang didn't change anything for me. As mentioned earlier by another reviewer, you pay with the performance of the car with gas. At least it takes 87 octane. Try comparing this to a comparable Camry or Accord, they are the same around 20/30 and they also have higher octane requirements.

Strength:

Engine, suspension, comfortable (for the type of car it is) looks.

Weakness:

5 speed. Really needs a 6 and I mean really needs a 6 speed. All the dorks in their japanese imports that try to race you at the light.( C'mon people you drive a Civic, this is a Saleen)

The Saleen rocks!!! I bought this car and immediately drove to Vegas. It has some pretty good gas mileage and cruises nicely at 110. The looks you get are awesome I had ladies coming up and asking what kind of mustang this was and if they can ride in it. This car absolutely flys.

Strength:

V8 engine with good power. Nice Lookin car with good sound which sounds better then the one in my 2001 Corvette!

Weakness:

Only 280Hp, Many scoops - none work, some unfinished parts, with ok detail to much of a 4x4 feeling, needs to be lowered at least 2". It's a Ok daily driver, but I'll be keeping my Vette for the weekends!!

Over all good car and easy to work on! Not the best sport car out there, but very reasonable for the value. Only had one problem with leather seat which the dealer replaced right away.

I replaced my Camaro with this Mustang GT. It rides and feels a little better. The seats feel more comfortable and the size fits mush better in the garage.

Strength:

power, handling, braking, price compared to quality. And Fun!

Weakness:

leg room, Speaker system fits only 5x7's unless you cut.

This was my dream car since I was a teenager, ( now 33 ). Very solid car, but you must be a smaller individual to fight comfortably. The V-6 has plenty of power to get up and go. Breaking is great and handling is instant. A little rough riding on city streets, but highways are great. All in all this car is fun, and makes you feel good about what you got for the money. I just wish i could get the cobra. I recomend to all.

Strength:

Horsepower/Torque Driving with the windows down is great for letting the wind blow through my mullit. Looks great parked at my trailer. Don't need an alarms because most thiefs look for cars worth money.

Weakness:

Very, very poor build quality/reliability. Poor gas mileage. Vintage 1970 suspension/platform technology. My trailer makes anything look good. Bugs get caught in my mullit with windows down.

This car is a piece of crap. The interior rattles & sqeaks. The engine burns/leaks oil. The suspension has less sophistication than a K-car. Performance is only average even though it burns gas like a supercar.

Similar Products Used:

Now own 1999 Integra GSR which it twice the car. Driving this car gave me the self esteem to cut my mullit, get a job, and move out of the trailer park.
