Strength:
Crazy ass engine, with lots of power. Handling: If you are doing 160, it feels like you are doing 50. And the list goes on.
Weakness:
Price. But its worth every penny The most amazing thing ever created. I value my car more than my life. I''m a 16 year old, and I''ve only had this car for 6 months. My first car, and I''m in love with it. The power scares me, amazing suspensions, beatiful handling. The beauty is undescribable. I have 50 reasons why if you have the money you should buy one. No one tests my car. I''m at a light, and I got a mustang right next to me. I rev the engine, put it in first, the guy just looks at me, doesnt even think about trying. I don''t care if you are 16, 36 or 66, if you have money, make use of it. Similar Products Used: None, uneless you have 300.000$, then you would buy a Diablo. |

M3
Strength:
Great power, handling, comfort, styling
Weakness:
Shifter is a little balky compared to the silky smooth 330 ci (apprently necessary to accomodate the M3''s extra power) Outstanding--Best car I''ve ever owned. Mine is jet black with Napa leather, the cold weather package and all of the options except for the luxury package (auto seats and rain sensing wipers). I''m not a gearhead and know virtually nothing about the M3''s technical specs, but I absolutely do know quality when I drive it. The car is rock solid, fast as can be, and handles incredibly well(and smells great). The Dynamic Stability Control, which can be turned off, is especially nice for folks like me who have no real conception of how to drive a race car. Not that it feels like a race car--although the suspension is stiffer than the 330 ci, and although you''ll feel it on hacked-up roads, it is generally great for everyday driving. The "Sport" choke mode is great if you want an additional boost, but you can still pass anything on the highway at the drop of a hat in 6th gear in normal choke mode. And as for those who say the M3 doesn''t handle well in snow and rain: Hogwash. Take it from a Minnesotan--just get some decent snowtires and it''ll outperform anything out there sans four wheel drive. Criticism about the GPS Navigation System is equally unfounded: like all of the M3''s dashboard controls and gadgets, its easy and convenient. No one under 35 should be allowed to own an M3: If you''re under 25, you probably can''t afford it, and even if you can you haven''t really earned it; If you''re 25 to 35, you should be spending your extra dough on the wife and the kids. But seriously, the real reason no one under 35 should own an M3 is that every last one of the 3000 annual import quota should be reserved for 40ish guys like me who are trying to ward off a midlife crises and regain youth vicariously through the best sports car under $60K ever built! Strength:
Smooth power band up to 7000 rpm and great torque in every gear. Engine is bullet proof. Clutch has held up well under extreme track driving conditions. I''ve replaced the radiator and the guibo. I also installed Koni Sport dampers and H&R Sport springs to improve high speed track performance.
Weakness:
The E36 M3 is not a good daily driver; it''s a thoroughbred track car right out of the box and even better with a few well chosen suspension modifications. I last reviewed this Bimmer in January 2000 and things just keep getting better. The car now has 82,000 miles on the odo of which over 10,000 miles are hard track miles. I''ve modified the car to the point that it doesn''t see much daily driving; it''s almost a dedicated track car. Similar Products Used: 1994 BMW E36 325iS, 1999 Nissan Maxima SE Limited. |

Weakness:
Price, not easy to find one My first M3 was a pre-owned 97 4 door M3 it was a 16 year olds dream I loved that car and was impressed that they could pack that much performance and handling into a sedan. But anyways I''''m 18 now and when I saw the new M3''''s i was just impressed that they could inprove on a machine that was in my opinion the best car in its class. I work at an ad agency and one day I saw my co-worker pull in next to me in a new Titanium Silver M3 Coupe, he let me test drive it after work and I was even more impressed than I already was so the very next day I went over to the dealership to reserve mine. Its comming in February and if its as impressive as my test drive was then all I have to say is WOW. The price is a little steep though i payed 5000 over MSRP but I''''ve heard of these cars going for 10000 or moreand are still being bought. Acceleration, girls like it.
Weakness:
Average brake performance, bad plastic quality in the interior, bad metalic sound of the exhaust, lightning is poor in the night, tires, music system I went to a BMW dealer to have a look at the new BMW M3.I was impressed about the car and the technical dates. But after I bought it I had only problems with the car.The ABS light always blinks. The sunroof has a very bad evacuation. The music system is too bad for such expensive car as the M3.The acceleration is acceptable. The driving performance is average and in wet conditions its easy to loose the control of the car.You must change the tires after 10.000 km.I''ll buy a Mercedes CLK 55AMG,which I tested last week. Strength:
4 actual seat Quick start/powerful engine Great cornering Wow factor remains high
Weakness:
Back seat are limited to 2 person only Riding can be rough depends on surfaces Insurance rate Top speed electrically limited Purchase price includes sales tax and 5 yr. warrenty. My M3 had little over 8k miles and was in showroom condition. Driving M3 is a pure joy that one must experience it to truely appreciate it. Not only car accellates and runs outrageously fast, but also handling like a dream as well. You do really feel the 240 horse power when you step on accellator. Love that sound coming out of muffler everytime I smoke other drivers. Riding can be a little bumpy at first but I got used it rather quickly. I was in market for convertible and M3 was the only option considering I need sittable back seat for my little daughter. All of sudden driving in the city become enjoyble. Thanks BMW. TIP:Replacing all lamps with clear white makes big diffrence at little cost. If you think interior needs some help, try AC Schnitzer interior kit that will rival the look of new 330 CI. Strength:
Engine is very smooth. Acceleration is phenomenal!!! Very well build quality
Weakness:
Due to the extensive electrical system in this car, it took a whole day for a installer to put in alarm system. Do not comes with alot of goodies for the price of the car!!, should have keyless entries, alarm, etc for this price!! If you need to put in aftermarket such as CD, alarms, etc. may consider getting it done at the BMW dealer, electrical wirings is a pain in the rear end for a inexperience BMW installer...you don''t want to mess up the delicate wiring system since it may voids the warranty I bought my car with 5k on it from a friend. It was meticulously maintained, only driven on weekend by him. After 2 months of driving it, I love driving it every single time. The engine is extremely smooth, acceleration is excellent even in the stock version. The cockpit is a little bland in comparison to the new M3 or the 330Ci. It handles curves beautifully like a true sport car. Seating in the back is a bit tight for tall passengers, but otherwise it''s comfortable. I really like the "Vader" seats in my M3, fits around the driver like a glove and very comfortable. Similar Products Used: Integra, Porche, Is300 |
