Power, handling, comfort, etc, etc, etc
Weakness:
Noisy gear box ( normal ) Upgraded Napa Leather showing wear on the bolsters already and BMW won't replace. The 333 hp scared me at first not being accustom to so much power on demand. Drives so easily it took 2 days to feel at one with the 3. I look forward to driving to and from work. Not a day goes by that people don't stop and stare or ask questions about it. You truly feel like "king of the road". I would buy another M3 tomorrow. Similar Products Used: 323i , XJ6, Fiat Spider, Ford truck |

-Performance -Acceleration -Handling -Looks -Tire melting power from a smooth as silk 3.2 Inline 6. -Smooth exhaust note.
Weakness:
-needs a 6th gear. American version not as powerful as the european version. -Stock stereo is weak. -I recommend that if you have an M3, please do not pay any attention to the oil service lights. The engine oil should be changed between 3,000-5,000 miles. The M3 is great, it has everything you need. I've always wanted an M3. Finally my father bought the car for me as an early graduation present. It is the Ultimate Driving Machine. Similar Products Used: nothing compares to a BMW M3. Except an M5 or Z8. |

Strength:
Best Car Ever.
Weakness:
The sterio. This might be by design though, since the engine note is pure music. Regardless, MB Quart designes superb speakers specifically for this car. The balance the M series offers is what sets it apart from all other cars on the road. I have driven my share of sports cars and exotics, and there are only two cars I have ever driven that feel better than the E36 M3. Those cars are the Dinan E46 M3 and the Tech Art 911 GT2. (And that might be an unfair comparo, since those were 100K+ aftermarket vehicles.) The only car I will ever buy. I've gone through (totaled) 2 others. You feel invincilbe in an M3; this might not be such a great thing. Others may go faster, but nothing feels like an M. Similar Products Used: 1995 BMW M3 1996 BMW M3 |

Strength:
SPEED & HANDLING...the S setting on the automatic transmission is awesome. The a/c works great and the leather interior looks good. The on board computer works well and is remarkably well advanced for a 1995 vehicle.
Weakness:
The stock sound system SUCKS, it handles TERRIBLE in the winter on slick streets (too much power to the rear wheels). My automatic trans is boring....keep looking and get a 5 speed. The driver seat isn't really all that comfortable for a BMW...it grips you like a racing seat but for long trips you need to stretch. The heated seats could work a bit better. I purchased my 1995 BMW M3 almost 2 years ago and I have to say, I absolutely LOVE it! I have never owned or even test drove any car that has approached the M3 in both quality, speed, and especially handling. My car is about 5k miles away from hitting the 100k mark and it still runs like it is brand new. The only problems have been a small electrical short in the spoiler tail light, and the water pump which went out at 90k miles but was very easy to replace myself. This car is DEFINITELY the car for anybody who loves raw power, wants a race car they can drive to work, or just wants to go out and have fun. I can't recommend it to you enough...if you get a chance go test drive one. You will be sold, one trip around the block and I was an owner! Strength:
It is quite powerful. smg engine is fun.
Weakness:
Can not believe that the engine blew at 5000 miles and the price of the car is always marked up by at least 10k This was a great car until my engine exploded at 5000 miles. It was so unsafe because my whole engine shut off on me. Luckily I exited the freeway already because I heard some weird noises coming from the engine. Similar Products Used: 99' Lexus GS4000 |

Simply one of the finest, well built cars on the road with an acceptable price point. The choice should be clear. |

Strength:
The 3 litre straight 6 is a marvel of German engineering. No other normally aspirated engine can compare. BMW match this with a frame that compliments the power with handling ability. All this with the capacity to carry 4 adults in comfort (and exite them)
Weakness:
The dashboard is boring, but everything works. I would have hated to pay $70,000US for it when it was new. The best car I have ever driven. The BM has only 60,000KMs and goes like a new car. My Nissn 300zx was more perfect in finishing touch but the M3 is a full on sports car. This is a definitive drivers car. The Z car handled well with its output but did not have anywhere the performance of the M3. Similar Products Used: Nissan 300ZX 1994 (new $US32,000) 5Litre V8 Commodore SS |

Strength:
A wicked combination of power, handling, brakes and creature comforts.
Weakness:
Availability (maybe a good thing). Stereo could be a bit better. No second power outlet. This is my second M3, my first was a 98 coupe. THANK YOU BMW FOR GIVING US THE REAL ENGINE THIS TIME AROUND! This car is simply the best sports coupe on the market. It will run on the track with cars costing more than double its price and will take you and 3 of your friends back from the track in the lap of luxury. The power is awesome. Handling is at least as good as that of the previous car (and that's saying something) and the interior is a quantum leap forward. The car does feel a bit heavier (which it is) than the previous car and a little less "tossable" in corners. That said, I find that I can brake later into corners and maintain higher speeds through the apex in the E46 than the E36. On a track where I ran the older car on a number of occasions my times are better with the E46 but they do not feel as fast. This car feels more luxurious even at idiotically astronomical speeds. Dinan's software allows it to wind out fifth (167 mph) and I have no idea as of yet how fast it will pull in sixth. There are faster, cheaper cars on the market such as the Z06 (in terms of real drive off prices). There are also many down market offering like the WRX which provide a large margin of this car's performance at a fraction of this car's price. To compare simple numbers is juvenile folly. What BMW does is combine the true nature of a GT car with the luxurious appointments of a European tourer in a single package - something no one else offers at this (or possibly any other) price range. If your goal is racing teenagers from stop lights, buy the Vette. If you can't afford it don't bash it. This car is like a fine wine. Its not for the neophyte driver with a lead foot and a head of cheap reviews from "Compact Sports Car," etc. Yes Virginia, you can bolt on a Nitrous bottle and a blower on your Acura, but it will never be an M3. This indeed, is the complete, rational, 4.6 second 0-60 automobile.....
