Strength:

a great sports car that is neither too flamboyant nor too ordinary.

Weakness:

180hp is a little weak - should have opted for the 225 option

love this car. It handles well. Steering is tight and the gear box is clean.

Strength:

Like the 5 audi quattros before this, the car is an exceptionally well handling car in all weather, and has a very solid feel. Despite it's size the vehicle is quite solid around be, and very stable on the road.

Weakness:

Nothing!

I would recommend this car to anyone, with the understanding that this is not a family car. It is a two-seater. Although it has back seats, they are not suitable for adults, or even adolecent children. I would be cautious of putting an infant in the back seat only because of the limited space in which to maneuver.

This is a sports car. This is THE PERFECT SPORTS CAR!.

Strength:

-Cute and compact.
-Excellent acceleration, handling and brakes.
-Quite luxurious for a sportscar.
-Also very, very cheap.

Weakness:

-Too cute and compact.
-Horsepower, Horsepower, Horsepower, Horsepower, Horsepower!!! The Engine purrs and whines like an RC Motor.
(I think this car is made for ladies)

If you want a loud, low, long, uncomfortable, typical sportscar, this one's definitely not a good choice. Recommend it to young people or ladies.

Model Reviewed: audi tt quattro

Strength:

The handling is excellent. Most impressive is the balance between the power and the ability of the car to simply take anything you can throw at it: slick roads, tricky curves, hard braking and speed. It just huggs the road. Others have complained about the feel of the car on the road, but my sense is I am in touch with every nuance of the road surface. The AWD adds a dimension of stablity and traction that beats any car I have ever driven.

I have been looking for years for a car that looks as good as the British and German sportscars of the 60's. This Audi is better looking, and it goes without saying that the mechanical systems are beyond compare. Love the ESP (electronic stabilization) and the fact that I can turn it off if I so desired. Brakes are amazing. I cannot help feeling I have finally got the vehicle I have always wanted. There are 3 airbags and fully reinforced side panels. This thing is small but surprisingly and reassuringly safe (if you don't try and test the speed limiter on twisting back roads).

Another plus is the guarantee. 4 years or 50,000 miles with everything, including oil changes. Only trouble is it's so enjoyable to drive, it will probably only be 2 years and 50,000 for me.

Weakness:

Radio reception is only fair. I live in a semirural area, and cannot get clearly some stations that the Passat and my former Honda picked up with ease. The Leather seats are quite comfortable, but adjusting them leaves something to be desired. Because of the low window pofile, there is a narrow margin for getting the perfect driving position. Even then there is a small blind spot where the window post slopes down behind the passenger seat.

I read a review of the TT that stated 80% of the owners were married men in their forties. Sounds right. You finally have the bucks to get something a little impractical, and don't have to move your own furniture anymore. Or you do it in your wife's SUV.

Anyone who loves good design should get one, and anyone who loves to drive should as well. Even with the "back seats", this is not a family car. Get a van if you transport kids. Though kids seem to love the looks.

I think the TT is a remarkable value, and would expect Audi to start inching the price up in the next year or two. It should be about $40,000, and that is where it will probably end up. Like the Boxster, the Infinity, Lexus etc, it has been introduced at a fairly low price to gain market share. (My opinion only.)

People have been complaining that the TT's are hard to get. I bought mine off the lot on the day I went to test drive it. May be luck, or perhaps the situation is changing in that regard.

Personally I love the car, and expect to hold on to it until it attains classic car status.

Strength:

Styling, details, build quality, everyday driveability, quickness, handling, gas mileage, back seats, rarity....

Weakness:

Cup holders in akward place, there should be an additional power outlet so cell phone can be charged without opening ash tray...

It's really simple. What other car looks as cool as the TT? What other car gives you more bang for the buck? What other true sports car has back seats (I have kids)? Nothing. The only cars that come close is the Boxter and the Prelude. I found the Boxter to be not quite as smooth and much more expensive (nicely equiped). The Prelude was great fun to drive, but it's a Honda. There's nothing wrong with that, I've owned three Honda's and they've all been fantastic cars. But I wanted something with a bit more style, a lot more character.

So far, my 2001 TT has been perfect. Fast, fun, great mileage, easy, and rare.

If you are looking to buy one, beware. Most dealers in the L.A, area are jacking up the prices, or adding expensive wheel packages as soon as they are unloaded off of the truck. Check out Keyes in Van Nuys and Beverly Hills. Both require some haggling but I ended up paying MSRP at Keyes. I had one on order from Beverly Hills (at MSRP), but beware, they stick on aftermarket stuff immediately.

Strength:

The TT is by far the most stylish thing on the road today- hands down. I get at least 1-10 comments a day about this beauty. I never drove the 180hp, but the 225 hp will beat a boxster or a Z3 from just about every angle. I'm constantly amazed at how much I got for my dollar. The car is a great value when compared to it's rivals- I see Z3's and Boxsters in every parking lot I go to- I've yet to see another TT on the road- and that suits me just fine. So don't buy it! I like all the attention.

Weakness:

Having to clean the greasy face and finger prints off my windows whenever I leave her alone- and not always having time to chat with folks who stop me and want to know more about it.

At 42-47k it's not for everyone- I couldn't drive the 180 because once you lay your foot on the 225 your spoiled forever. It's not trying to please everyone, which in the conformist copy cat styling of european sports cars is exactly what attracted me to it. If you have a sense of fashion and are looking for something that compliments you like a fine leather coat then this car is for you.

A fun commuter car with lots of style and average power.

I would recommend this car to anyone that is small framed, Has a large banc role and wants a very expensive (but stylish) commuter car.
I will be giving mine to my son for school after grad. Curently looking for a new toy. Leaning towards a used Porsche 928, or vintage 911

How Long it took to arrive.

I paid MSRP, which in this area is getting off cheap (some less than
honest dealers are charging 5-15K over invoice).

This is not a car for the weak of heart or the lazy. With 6 on the floor, and 225HP, this car goes. As they say "its meant to be DRIVEN".

Strength:

Quattro & Six Speed make this Roadster an awesome sports car as well as a fun daily driver.

Weakness:

Cupholders are in a hard to reach spot on those long highway drives, but not enough to make you get something different.

43,355 - MSRP. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking at a real sports car. If you feel the need to whine about a lack of back seat, you aren't looking for a real sports car.

Please ignore the two idiots that posted '1' ratings. They obviously are jealous types. The instability complained about occured at Autobahn speed (read 120 MPH +) and were due to driver inexperience. This car is (prior to suspension modifications) was not a forgiving car for driver error. Anyone who pulls power while going into a high speed turns deserves to get thrown around, that's just not something you do. Being prudent however Audi recalled the TT and added new control arms and a different suspension, as well as an 'ESP' system that helps keep you on the road if you're driving at high speeds.

However, living in America, where the fastest speed limit in my area is 70 MPH things are fine.

You can quickly cycle through all six gears, interior is either a love it or hate it, the onboard trip computer functionality is fun to play with and informative.

A Fun car for all involved. The only drawback is the waiting, I ordered in April and just now is it coming in.
