Strength:
Almost perfect. Torque. Quattro. Interior.
Weakness:
Stick could be a bit smoother. Brakes (though powerful) could have a little more feel - but with ABS, ESP and Quattro I''ll be fine. Very impressed with the stock perforance. A lot of torque for the HP. First time driving an all wheel drive car and cannot believe how good it feels in tight corners. Love the interior. Suspension is perfect. Not interested in being shaken to death by anything tighter. Very understated look - no "boy racer" looks or body kits thanks. Nice to drive to work or race Mulholland. Strength:
Great finish, strength, value, not everywhere
Weakness:
30% of total power from turbo, why is it so hard for Audi to put in a better engine? (Wait till 2004) needs a lot of tuning. The look of the back It does what you would expect from a sports car or more. Just like every one here said, the shifter isn’t the best. Good maintenance, important because this is my first manual car. Similar Products Used: M3z...99 zo6 vett |

Strength:
Ten stars ********** for the interior. It''s still one of the best out there. Gut Wrenching Torque! Huge array of Performance parts. Again REAL USABLE TORQUE. Definately a sleeper. I''ll take on a 900+HP Supra and Henessey 850TT Viper in the snow any day!
Weakness:
Brakes, weight(handling), unconnected feel. tranny feel.. too notchy, no dual climate controls. Basically alot of stock equipment. This read is a follow up to my review posted a little less than a year ago. I am still very impressed with this car. I have installed Downpipes, exhaust, and H&R Ultras. I highly recommend performance parts(arsenal). I had my chip out of the car for two days for a software upgrade; it was the longest two days of my driving life. A stock S4 feels like an over-weight FAT pig. Boost is smooth, but DAMN where did all the kick go. The butterflies that build up in your stomach must be sleeping. And the stock handling is almost dangerous for the kind of speed the S4 can get up to. In the mean time, have smoked Corvette C5''s, numerous Camaros(SS), Firehawk(birds, WS6''s). I Haven''t found a Mustang to play with yet =(. A lot of those races didn’t even feel like races because I smoked them so bad. I think I beat an SS by 30 car lengths from 40 to 120 on the highway. You can’t touch the S4’s low end grunt. Probably could''ve been the 5600ft elevation too. My car is pushing 350-360HP 380-390lbs/ft right now(not bad at all for 4k in mods...including installation). And those are conservative numbers. H&R’s take away a lot of the huge body roll and brake dive. They are definitely needed, especially with the kind of power the S4 has potential for. All in all, I am still defending one of the best kept secrets. A lot of people just don’t know what lurks beneath the relatively conservative look of the S4. Stick on some mad 19s and K04s and you’ll be coming in with a sledge hammer. VERY SWEET INDEED! Speed, beautiful interior, alcantara seats provide great support, Quiet and comfortable. very little engine noise. Handles like a luxury v8 family sedan.
Weakness:
um... Quiet and comfortable. very little engine noise. Handles like a luxury v8 family sedan. Superfast, but feels tame. Almost too tame, too quiet, too nice inside for what''s really going on outside. Handling is stable and sharp, but feels too controlled also. Similar Products Used: Saab Viggen |

250HP Bi-turbo POWER! Very Comfy, Very good clutch(include 6SPD Manual baby!) AWD, Perfect Suspension, Perfect Driving Position, and what else... Everything I expected is in this car S4... I think my life will go on with the AUDI. and 2001 S4 is now on special price with 3.9% financing... Long live AUDI!
Weakness:
hmmm........ NOTHING to me. and about the gas... If you want to drive a car that is fast as this, U should expect to pay that much gas.. dont u think? I just test drove Audi S4.. and What I can say is just WOW!! Who said shift is too long? Who said suspension is soft? Who said brake is bad? Who said about the bodyroll? NO.. you guys are all wrong at least to me... This car fits perfect to me. This is the car that I was looking for. Now I am driving Acura CL-S and I am going change it SOON... REAL SOON.. and the Dealer was very good. I also test drove BMW 330i but driving position including tilt position, pedal position, seat position does not fit to me and not as fast as S4, but AUDI fits PERFECT to me..... and BMW DEALERS SUCKS!!! BMW DEALERS hate younger buyers or what! So! I am getting it before 2002 comes.. I will write more review after I bought it.. See you soon. Similar Products Used: Supercharged Civic SI (No comp.) Strength:
Power. Interior is 2nd to none. Outstanding quality in every aspect. AWD, 4 doors, 6 speed, 250HP, looks, sleeper aspect (less attention than a Porsche, but I can blow away Boxters and older 911s). Great value....all this for $40K AND they stopped making it so it''s kind of rare.
Weakness:
Long shifter throws. Audi NAV system needs a big screen. Audi cell phones are analog so installing hands-free for a digital phone is a hassle. This car is awesome!!!! Very fast. I can''t wait until it snows so that I can put on my Blizzaks and cruise while all the BMWs get stuck in the snow! Similar Products Used: I test drove the 330xi and wasn''t as thrilled as I was when I test drove the S4. (and the fist S4 I drove was an Avant) There are a million BMW 3xx out there and they all look alike. I might see 1 S4 |

Strength:
Spacious interior with German quality material. Fair to good sound system. Quattro is unbelievable on tricky roads.
Weakness:
Breaks are too weak for this car. Shifter has too long of a throw. Turbo lag sometimes (you need to rev the engine at low speed to do a quick passing maneuver). Breaking dust build up on rims after a few hundred miles I bought my S4 2 months ago, and feel very good about it. I drove a 1999 Corvette hardtop for three years and rarely miss it. In terms of pure and shear enjoyment the base S4 does not come close to driving a car such as a Corvette. However, after 500 miles I installed an ABT chip (310 HP and ~360 ft/lb) and a short shifter, and I must admit that my opinion is starting to change. Moreover, I can''t wait to have some fun this winter! Similar Products Used: I owned one of the new Corvette for 3 years and had a lot of fun every time I was driving it (winter time aside of course).
