Strength:

Very few.

Weakness:

Transmission and oxygen sensor.

One simple word - AWFUL!! The transmission is terrible. You know a auto is bad when you call a mechanic & state your mini van is having problems and they tell YOU what kind of mini van you own.

Strength:

Hauls everything and everyone, tows everything and goes everywhere. Has never let me down! Very dependable. More so than its 6 cylinder counterpart

Weakness:

It is a dodge and i live in fear of sensors and AC failure. Dealer pressure to for add ons and warranty. Bought extended warranty and never used it!

Just turned 85,000. what can I say, It tows jetskis and motorcycles, hunts, hauls kids, gets driven over everything from mud/clay to gravel and interstate. The kids are hard on the interior. It cleans up like new (inside and out) and does it all. It lives a hard and active life and keeps goin'. No AC problems like the 6 cylinders. The 4 cylinder has plenty of power. I bought it despite my previous dodge experiences. A little tough to do simple maintainence though. This is Dodge's most basic model caravan you can get.

Strength:

Has carried me to some fairly remote places in the British Columbia wilderness. Hasn't posed too many problems up to now.

Weakness:

Over the last 1.5 years I've put approximately $1000 into this car. This includes a tune-up which is a cost to any vehicle. The 3.0L is fairly weak and requires 3000RPM to climb inclined stretches of highway. Of course this could be due to the fact that it's got over 200K on it.

My model is a CV 3.0L. It was originally from the LA area but I now have it in Victoria, British Columbia. At the time of purchase it had 150K miles on it, and now has 202K miles. Since my purchase, I've replaced the compressor; fixed a reverse-gear issue; 1 tune-up which cost me approx. $300; new breaks; new starter; fixed an oil leak; and replaced a front headlight. All in all, this is a reliable car that I've taken all over BC (more mountains than you can shake a stick at). I've neglected it to say the least, but hopefully (knocking on wood) it won't turn on me anytime soon.

Strength:

Attractive

Weakness:

Everything!!

The WORST Vehical I have ever owned!!!!! If you are looking for a reliable Vehicle this is not it!!!! We have had nothing but problems with this van. So far from what I am learning from TONS of other people as well you can expect to put an average of $4,000 every year to keep it on the road. Once you hit 70,000 miles it will hit you with one thing or the other. This van has a great bodystyle and interior but it is not worth the money you will invest in the engine and all other components. A sad disapointment!!

Strength:

like the layout and the dual sliders, usually keep the third bench seat out in order to haul stuff. Convenient with kids and large items to transport. Overall the ride is smooth and comfortable.

Weakness:

probability of transmission failure due to the noises I am hearing; CD player cant seem to reliably skip ahead to selected tracks and outright fails in cold weather.

I had always owned German cars and had never before considered an American car, however two young children in car seats made those dual sliders attractive... my husband was only reluctantly persuaded due to so much negative press about the transmission. Have had the 98 Voyager for 4 years, it had only 13000 miles at the time so was still $17,000. I drive over 100 miles daily to/from work so am now over 100000 miles, knock wood have had few mechanical troubles thus far. However, am suspicious as to the probably causes of an occasional noise when in reverse; even more worried when the car will not engage into Drive from Reverse, when the car is cold; dealer said it was nothing when checked. Also, a funny rattling sound from the roof racks at a perfect 70mph is a distraction to driving (one thinks "Oh dear, did I drive away with the cat on the roof?") It's a misery to read from so many unhappy Voyager owners, understandably disgusted with the constant need for repairs and Chrysler's failure to step up to the plate. The constant "recall notices" are a nuisance.

Strength:

Roomy

Weakness:

Transmission, brakes

I think it is time that Chyrsler steps in and starts to reimburse their customers for thier transmission problems with these lemons instead of ignoring the consumers. Obviously this is a major problem with these vehicles, because the transmissions do not seem to have many miles on them and they blow. I am also a Minivan owner and now my transmission blew at 61,000 miles and this does not seem like it should be happening. If the consumer knew these problems with the transmissions then Chrysler would have these lemons sitting in the dealers lot. My van is at a shop now waiting to be fixed and their are at least 6 others sitting there. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE AND WILL MAKES SURE I TELL ALL.

Strength:

Comfortable ride, lots of room, and great gas mileage even with luggage on roof. At van held up even in collision with 250 lb deer at 50 mph.

Weakness:

Middle bench seat did not fold down, and gas gauge begins to fail in hot weather after 90K.

At 70K, the rear wiper motor failed, at 130K, the rear door release broke, at 142K the cooling fan motor broke otherwise no major problems. Would still be driving it if I did not total van by hitting a deer at 155K. Only had to replace head lights once but all other parts still original.

Strength:

Roomy, nice ride, when it runs.

Weakness:

transmission, head gasket, AC, brakes

This van was a nightmare from the get go. After only 6 months of ownership the engine went. Thank God for warrantys!! The check engine light was always on, we went through 3 sets of breaks in 3 yrs. The AC went after 2 yrs, it was a heater core problem, that was an out of pocket expense of $700. Soon after the head gasket went, with a "new engine" I gave up. These vans are great to look at but that's about it.

Good pickup. Roomy.

Weakness:

Expensive upkeep. Dealership screwed me on purchase price. Untrustworthy for a car with under 60,000 miles.

I have owned this money pit for 1 1/2 years. I bought it used and should have taken it to a mechanic before I bought it. I've learned that lesson now. So far I've replaced the battery 3 times, put in a new alternator (they didn't have rebuilts for that particular model year), put new brakes on all four wheels, and now I need to get the head gasket replaced. I have put $ 1000.00 into this van, not counting the new tire to replace the one that I blew on vacation. I now have at least another $700.00 to put in for the new head gasket. The car did get me to Florida and back, knock on wood. I'm going to be shopping for a new car, but definitely not another Plymouth product I've always owned Chevy vehicle with minimal problems. I'm going to go that direction again.
