Strength:
Works great for kids. Our model has kid seats built-in. Sliding doors on both sides great. Interior works for us. Seats easy to remove/reconfigure.
Weakness:
Maintenance cost/dealership poor service/lack of interest in fixing problems. The cost is to much for us to consider buying another Chrysler product. Purchased vehicle new in Denver, CO. Vehicle currently has 122,000 miles. WE have been disappointed with the amount and cost of repairs necessary to maintain vehicle. We have replaced transmission, almost all electrical to include engine computer, air bag electronics, electric door switches, and transmission computer. Brakes have been replaced 3 times, head gaskets have been replaced, timing belts, struts and shocks. Local dealer does not seem qualified to make repairs. Talk to three different people at dealership and get three different answers, none of them complete. Similar Products Used: 1990 Dodge van. Almost same problems. We thought we bought a lemon, did not realize they were built that way on purpose. |

Strength:
Roomy. Rides like a car.
Weakness:
A little noisy. Electrical problems!!!! Air bag sensor malfunctioned. The air bag light comes on and stays on. Dealer can fix this. The gas sensor is also broken. The gas light comes on while driving and stays on even though you have a full tank. The windshield wipers TURN THEMSELVES ON. I thought it was me hitting the turn signal and causing the wipers to turn on, until I was driving down the highway and they turned on and would not turn off! The speedomoter and tac do not always work. The odomoter still records mileage though. AC doesn''t always work nor does the radio. This car is a piece of junk! We purchased this van used in 1999. For the first year we owned it, performance was great! The interior is very roomy, great for car seats and strollers. Gas mileage was also acceptable. Then the problems started. EVERYTHING MECHANICAL TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS - THIS IS OUR THIRD (3RD) TRANSMISSION IN 6 YEARS. I DEFINITELY THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM HERE. WE HAVE ALSO REPLACED APPROX. 4 TENSION BELTS AND AN AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR PLUS COUNTLESS BRAKES AND ROTORS AND FRONT TIRES. ON VACATION THIS YEAR A BOLT BROKE AND THERE WENT THE CAR AGAIN. WE JUST HAD THE TIMING BELT AND WATER PUMP REPLACED. STARTER AND BATTERY INSIDE LIGHTS. I CANNOT EVEN REMEMBER WHAT ELSE, BUT I KNOW IT''S A LOT. WAY TOO MUCH MONEY IS GOING IN. I CANNOT WAIT TO GET RID OF IT. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS CAR TO ANYONE.... IT STINKS Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Roomy, easy to drive, comfortable, great for a family.
Weakness:
3.0 engine needs more power. Door ajar signal will not stop beeping. A/C is weak, does not cool the back. Rear wiper is broken. 1993 Plymouth Voyager With over 90,000 miles, it''s been a better than average product. Mostly just needs required maintence. A/C had to be replaced at 85,000. Strength:
Great seating comfort and roomy. Handles well and easy to manuver.
Weakness:
Sluggish engine when ac is on. Repeated problem with passenger tie rod until I took it to a great mechanic. I have been a Chrylser-Plymouth owner since my first Horizon in 1979. This 1991 Voyager has and hopefully will continue to be give me great service for a few more years. It currently has 199500 miles. The major replacement parts - ac, fuel pump, timing belt, serpentine belt, battery - and the general maintenance expenses - tires, oil changes (I use Mobil 1 synthetic, change filter every 2-3K and the oil every 15K. I have used this oil on all my Chrysler vehicles since 1979 and the engine is clean as new.). Similar Products Used: Have owned Plymouth Horizons - 1979, 1985, 1986, 1987 - all great cars. Wish Chrysler still made them. |

transmission, anti-lock brakes We purchased our minivan 2/2001 and have had it in shop several times. The map sensor went out and it took 3 different garages until they finally solved the problem, after service charges at all 3 and one replaced a fuel filter we ended up paying aaround $250 and I replaced the map sensor myself. Then the anti-lock brakes went bad but were covered by recall. That was fixed 2 weeks ago. Today I am taking it to have the transmission rebuilt. But I still think it is the best all in all vehicle I have ever owned. It has 127,500 miles and the motor purrs like a kitten, it dosen''t burn any oil and gets good gas mileage. When I weigh the good and the bad the good is far above the bad and when this one does need replaced I''m sure it will be with another voyager. Similar Products Used: 1989 plymouth voyager |

Drive feel and ride is nice. The interior has held up well.
Weakness:
mechanical and electrical problems that often are unexplainable. Transmission gone. I will never buy another Chrysler product. We should have learned from the 92 Eagle Talon we had and a 94 Intrepid my husband drove as a company car. We had problems with those. We bought our 96 Grand voyager in 1996. It was a demo model and had 4600 miles on it. It just now has 86,000 miles on it and we have had NUMEROUS electrial problems (engine fan, windshield wipers, cruise control, horn, etc.)The interior lights still fade in and out when the door is open. My battery even exploded one day while trying to start the car! We have had problems with the brakes b/c the "drums were too big." We were never able to diagnose why the engine just cuts out sometimes while diving. And now at 86,000 miles, the transmission is gone. My husband and I have learned our lesson. I am very disappointed in this vehicle. Similar Products Used: 92 Eagle talon 94 Dodge Intrepid |

None I bought this lemon (98 Gr. Voyager) brand spanking new..What a disappointment it has been..Before the 3 year manufacture warranty expired, I had the van in the shop on average every 4 months (mouldings falling off to a/c repair)..A few months after the three year warranty expired, I have brought it to get a new battery, a new starter, and now the headlights are flickering on and off while the car is running (switch is off mind you)...Each time I have to pay $50 with the extended warranty..
