Plymouth Voyager SE, 3.0
Strength:
It only needed to be towed once, despite all the trouble it has gotten us from A to B 99% of the time! Great integrated child seat(s)!
Weakness:
Electric system, brake system, poor quality on factory installed tires, brakes, shocks, battery...too much road noise get''s inside We bought our minivan as a program car at 6 month old with 18000 miles, following the recommendation of the Consumer Report... And we did buy the extended Warranty (100000 miles) for ca $1500 (without which we''d be byond recovery!) But now at 86000 miles whatever quits seems to be excluded (so they do know their product?) We had: 5 visits due to the ABS light not turning off, 5 visits because of AC compressor/belt noise (paid all their research but have had to live with it on and off since 1998), ''ghost'' wipers (come on now and then; column switch shifted 3 times (warranty, $150 on us) and they still do it..., new brake drums at 38000 (!) + the rest of the system at that point and again at 70000 (then incl. brake cylinders...),fuel pump (warranty, $50, but they wanted $75 for the diagnosis!!!,- Chrysler stepped in and we changed the dealer), battery, drive belt (no. 3 since 79000 miles- they disintegrate...) belt tensioner (not covered under warranty...), fuel gauge in and out, backing light works occasionly... To much to share with Click and Clack. I read that others share many of our problems and will choose a different car maker next time. So will we. |

Was very happy until 65,000 miles when drive belt tensioner broke, large spring fell out of engine, and steering went out with 4 children in car. Had repaired for $800 bucks + $250 rental car. 2 weeks later the steering column is creaking. Oh yeah, wing mirror fell off ($200). Infiniti speaker rattles. Everything rattles. Disappointed. Won''t buy another. |

Strength:
Powerful 3.3 V6, reliable (very few problems), lots of nice little things included. good sound system, nice handling, good turning, sticks to the road well.
Weakness:
one belt (accessory, I believe) had to be changed twice within 5,000 miles, found the problem was not the belt, but a part of the hardware. Very nice vehicle. I have the extended wheel base van (Grand) and there is lots of room, plenty of power, lots of extras. Similar Products Used: Honda Odyssey (horrible) |

Strength:
Most everything. Power, Quality, Looks, Lots of Extras, Reliability, Sound System, inexpensive repairs (compared to last import car)
Weakness:
none, very few problems The Voyager is a great van. The 3.3 V6 provides ample power to pass and merge. It handles very well. The view is exellent, I can see more than I can with a car or SUV. The brakes (ABS) have very good stopping distance. The Infinity sound system sounds absolutly great. The interior is exellent quality and has lots of room. Its very flexible. Everything has been very reliable. The van looks nice. There are so many little extras in the van I cant name them all, like lots of cup holders, click-on lights, ect. I should add that my last Voyager (1990) was also a very good vehicle. Similar Products Used: 1990 Plymouth Voyager |

Strength:
Nice color
Weakness:
Reliability Something is constantly breaking. Valve job at 50001 miles (of course not covered under warranty), Lights on HVAC panel flash for 15 minutes after startup, Cruise/horn stopped working. Airbag light on, seatbelt broke, etc., etc. Similar Products Used: We had a ''96 voyager and we returned it after 1 year as a lemon because the dealer could not make the check engine light go off after numerous service calls. |

not reliable, apparent transmission problems The vehicle upon initial purchase presented a nice look good handeling and good milage, however 6mos into the van the transmission censor gave out causing the van to go into limp mode, not allowing the van to go over 25mph and reving at 5-6. The van did exactly that and limped into the dealership the censor was replaced.About a year later we get the mystery check engine, the dealer stated the engine light was faulty (LEMON). Jan.02 740 dollars spent on a heater /AC compressor, after my wife noticed a burning smell from the engine.March 02 380 dollars spent on that same transmission censor replaced after only 6mos after purchase yes the van once again went into limp mode the censor had to be replaced.Remember this van was new at purchase. Strength:
Double doors were the reason we bought this God-forsaken van. They were very convenient.
Weakness:
UNRELIABLE AND SHODDY WORKMANSHIP. GOD-FORBID YOU ARE STRANDED WITH YOUR CHILDREN BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD! Bought this van new in Nov 1996. We have had a string of problems (about 1 battery per year, repairs involving oil pressure switches, new radiator, new water pump, windshield wipers turning on by themselves, power steering pump), despite regular maintenance and oil changes, etc. At 63,000 miles (just over 5 years old), the engine threw a rod. It is inconceivable to me how a vehicle can be so poorly made. This shouldn''t happen so quickly!! WE WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER VEHICLE BY THIS MAKER AND I WILL URGE ALL THAT I KNOW TO AVOID IT AS WELL!! |

Strength:
four doors, 3.3 liter engine is very dependable.
Weakness:
Headlights I bought this van due to a new family. It had 16,500 mile on it. It''s great having the four doors. The van has the 3.3 liter engine. It has plenty of power on the highway and good gas milage. The transmission went at 35000 miles. It was replaced on warranty.I have had no other problems since. The main thing I don''t like, is the lack of distance the headlights project light. This vehicle runs great and I can''t complain a bit. I would highly recomend this vehicle to anyone who needs the room to seat 7. This van now has 75,000 miles on it. Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
Looks, handling, interior, seats, other bells/whistles inside, engine power...just love it!
Weakness:
Nothing major that comes to mind This is our 2nd Voyager. We had a ''97 base model till now (got it new off the lot). Loved it! No major problems at all, and I never had it tuned or anything major replaced! Did the oil changes myself. We put 116,000 miles on the ''97, and only in the past few months was it showing transmission and belt problems (since I hadn''t had any ''regular'' visits to the shop, that''s pretty good). Got into this 2K SE with 25K miles on it, 4 doors, 3.3/V6 engine, and so far love it. Seems a bit smaller/tighter inside, but not anything we can''t live with. I encourage everyone to look hard at these. Don''t know what all the other reviewers have had so many problems. Similar Products Used: None |
