MAZDA MVP LS
Strength:
Love the windows. (roll down, where no one elses do) Love the seat versatilty. Drives pretty smooth
Weakness:
Mine came with a DVD, for another 1,800. which was a total rip off. It is located in such a poor spot that we've yet to utilize it. I've owned this mini van for 3 months now. It took me this long to write a review, as I owned a Dodge Carvan for 5 years and loved it, but wanted a sportier look, so bought a Ford Explorer for 4 yrs. and loved the look, but hated the ride. (truck, truck truck) The Mazda was little disappointing at first, the pick up was a little slow and hesitant, but I have gotten use to that and now have to say am pretty happy with my purhcased. The dealership I dealt with has been very shady, so I'm having a hard time loving my Mazda, like I should. I really felt like I did NOT get a good deal, like I felt proud about with all my other purchases, but I do like my Van, and would recommend it. Just Don't deal with a dealership you don't feel right about it. |

Fold down seat in the rear
Weakness:
Awful Smell Not reliable, wouldn't start then quit while running. Dealer can not fix. This is my first and last Mazda. I have just reached 30,000 miles and the van has been in the shop and they can't fix it. It smells awful, which they tell me is part of the joy of owning Mazda. Don't get one, you will regret it. Strength:
engine, power windows on sliding doors, great visibility, very versitile layout, excellent price for value
Weakness:
occaisional sulfur smell, seats a bit firm for my liking Got a great deal on this ES with 4000 miles on it. It 'bucked' a bit, especially climbing hills, so I took it to the dealer, where they reprogrammed something, and now it rides beautifully. Good powerful engine, zoom zoom, and love the power sliding doors and windows on them. Have had it for 3 months, noticed sulfur smell only 4 times, and then it only lasted a minute or two. Kids adore it, especially my son who gets less carsick now that he can open the window near him. Similar Products Used: dodge caravan, rattled so much you could hear me driving blocks away |

Seat flexibility. Once you live with it- you must have it. Everything works, over 1.5 years, no problems so far. Great minivan. We've been driving our MPV for 1.5 years now. The best thing I can say is that we don't notice it- ie, it fits our needs without any hassles- no breakdowns, no flaws that annoy us on a daily basis. It does it's job (hauling 2 kids and stuff, occassional large purchases, etc.) with no hassles. Strength:
*Good power *Good ride *Well designed
Weakness:
*Needs another 3" in rear but this is only a small weaknesses. Great Van! I would recommend buying. Execellent driver visiblilty, this is an important feature for my 5'2" wife. Van is just the right size, although it could use another 3" in the rear compartment so a stroller would fit better, however we can still get it in there. Drives great, much better than other vans we looked at. I think this is the perfect soccor mom vehicle. |

Strength:
Powerful motor, great trans. hardly notice it shifting. very quite, terrific handling, the rear sliding doors have power windows. Thats one of a kind and is my favorite feature.
Weakness:
Well I have NOT noticed a sulpher smell like everyone says. Maybe I got lucky. The only weakness I can find is the ride is a little harsh on small bumps and a little noisy when you hit them. kinda like a compact car. other that that it does ride nicely. Great mini van, very classy and a great competitor to the high priced odyssey. My friend just got an odyssey, when we compared side by side I think he realized he got screwed. He paid 5,000 more than me and didnt have alloy wheels, power seat 6 disc cd, luggage rack, or fog lights. If you happen to be in Louisiana, I highly suggest calling RAY GROSS MOTORS in FRANKLIN. The most unbelievable car deal I've ever seen. I researched for 3 weeks all the options and pricing, both invoice and retail. I made the call, and was instantly offered a van on their lot for exact invoice and I got a $2000 factory rebate plus brought it to me 2 hours away. Was never pressured for extended warranty, paint protection, window etching nothing like that. All dealers should do business like that. It was like ordering pizza. Oh yeah if you are looking to buy used definatly spend the extra to get a 2002. They changed the motor and xmsn and is a huge upgrade. -Reliabilty -Seating versatility is awesome. We love the fold into the floor rear seats, this makes what space the van has very useable. - Easy to drive, not to big.
Weakness:
Engine power is at best adequete, the 3.0/5 speed is much better in the 2002 and up models (we just test drove a 2002) Bought this van used in 2001, we have 46,500 miles on it now and have had no trouble with it. |

Roomy and we love the hideaway seat in the back.
Weakness:
Bad smell We love the van and accessories. However, we are having trouble with a bad smell and they are unable to locate the problem. We were told this has happened alot with the 2002 MPVs. If I had been tols that upfront, I wouldn't have bought it. We were also told because they cant find whats making the smell, that they cant attempt to fix it and therefore does not fall under the 4 attempts to fix lemon law. We should have spent the extra money and purchased a Toyota Sienna |

Strength:
Flexible seating, comfort, handling, 9-speaker stereo.
Weakness:
Transmission shift quality (fixed on 2002+ models with the 5-speed automatic) Probably the only "right-sized" minivan on the market. I know Americans like to have the biggest and the "best", but this van drives and handles much better than the bloated Odyssey and Windstar. You hardly know you're driving a minivan. |

It is not quite minivan like a luxury car at highway. It is very nice and refined minivan which I really want to get. Sport style and performance like car, smooth engine and trasmission, reasonal price including many features compared to others such as Honda, Toyoda. Large is not always good than Small.
