Strength:

smooth ride, handles really well

Weakness:

Transmission went out after 87,000 miles. Talked to other caravan owners all had same problem. Will not buy another.

over all was very pleased with the vehicle until the transmission went out. I have owned many other new models, this is the only one that ever went out. Next time will look at the Nissan Quest.

Strength:

moves well, roomy, comfortable

Weakness:

dependability is awful. can not trust it not to totally die out every 9 to 15 months.

Van has "eaten" four batteries in six years. Frahm dodge in Norco can never find a problem with the computer, electrical or ignition system. Stay away from this van unless you want your family standed somewhere. Only has 35,000 miles on it!!!

Idler pulley froze up at 25,000 miles. The dealer took care of it promptly, but had to order replacements. Other than that We have experienced no functional problems in almost 36 months of ownership. Overall Chrysler has done their homework with this vehicle. It's not perfect, but it has been very good. Given that a minivan this is basically a 4200 lb. box, it is styled well and the handling and brakes are quite satisfactory. The 215 HP V6 is quiet and relatively powerful with good torque. Except in a few cases where I have fooled the transmission with throttle transients, shift quality is excellent. They did a good job in selecting gear ratios, but they better provide a 5 speed auto available in the next one.

Repair needs - way too many for so few miles compared to many other cars I have had.

Have generally had good luck but repair needs are significant. At 40,000 miles had all four tires replaced. Had to repair back gate lock, right window power switch and was just told, with only 55,000 miles, I need shocks, struts, brake pads and shoes and fix major oil leak - $2500!! Dealer told me most Caravans need front brakes at 25,000!

???? ;( looks good, powerfull engine.

Weakness:

I need more than 1200 characters. Waste of money. No retail value. DO NOT BUY ANY AMERICAN MADE. DO NOT BELEAVE THE COMMERCIALS.

Never again.... Many problems since purchase. Power window went out within 1 year of purchase. Water leaks in when it rains, could not find the source. Wipper motor went out. Changed pullies twice and still making noise, I gave up. 5 recall letters, I had to take it to the dealer to fix. Still smell gas inside. Interior door handels falling apart. CD does not work anymore. I have only 80,000 miles lady driven (my wife). Changes some electrical parts that failed.

Alignment problem Leaks Transmission Rear window motor

Unlike some prior reviews, I have had relative success with this vehicle. Nevertheless, it didn't fail the common tramission test. At about 103,000 miles it limped home just to be towed to the shop for a transmission heart replacement. I could say it serve me well, except the it leaked from somewhere that the dealer swear i leave my windows open, maybe they think I drive in iraq's desert...moron. I still leaks and I am trading it for a Honda or Nissan. Never American again.

Strength:

roomy, nice looking

Weakness:

rides good only first 6000 miles.

I bought the car in March 2002 and was OK until couple month ago when after only 9000 miles I have to do Aligment because tires were worn unproperly. Now every time I stop I hear a loud noise coming from the engine. First time I was told that the problem is stering hose (was recalled and I never was told) but even after they replaced the same thing, maybe worst than before. I am thinking to hire a layer and to take back vehicle to dealer where I bought. I hate dodge.

Transmission, brake repairs done, controler replaced, rear light hold moisture.

would like to add the 2003 Caravan I have had for only 10 months has been in the shop in Courtney 4 times since the replacement has been done on the transmission in Parksville Vancouver Island. Courtney Chrysler has made effort to "chase" around the problems and fix what was or was not done by Parksville. Controller had to be replaced and smoking right brake had to be replaced. The worst of it the Owner called me at Parksville Chysler a LUNITIC this past Friday after requesting full documents on repairs done. Also my car was scratched during the repairs and the steering wheel was filthy. They recieved 5 star service,I think they should try a little bit better than to maintain this elite status. If warrenty work carries this type of stigma.... Chrysler should see about replacing my vehicle with one from the lot of the ill commenting owner in Parksville. I bought a new vehicle hoping it was a reliable as advertised. I don't have a lot of money and this was quite an investment I am saddened by the particular comments and the way I was treated.. I believe this vehicle should be replaced in the good faith of the Company (by Parksville) I did not deserve this treatment If I had the money to by a viper I would have maybe I would have been treated better, I just don't know what to think. I bought this van to drive my son safely and hopefully reliable, to be counted on. 5 times in a shop in the last month and a half, again I just don't know what to think? What is the minivan worth now with the damages repairs..

Very Roomy, handles well

Weakness:

On my way to Replacing the Whole Suspention system, already cost me $307 in repairs, waiting to see what the ball joints cost me to replace.

This Vehicle was bought used with 89800 miles on it, it now has 90,000 miles on it and I've already seen weird things happen, I was on the highway and saw my speedomider go backwards instead of forwards, I'm assuming that it might be the first signs of the transmission failing, Also I have had to put new struts and mounts on the van in the 2 months I have owned it at the time this was done, the mechanic told me the ball joint was going and needed to be replaced, personally I think when they put the new struts on they did something to the ball joint boot because it didn't make the noise prior to the new strut being replaced. I also put 2 new front 50,000 mile tires on, and due to improper alignment the right side tire has worn on the inside and the rest of the tire is fine, however I think it could be due to the ball joint or the older struts. as far as the alignment is concerned, I had it done 2 weeks ago, and it was already thrown out so it was realigned when the struts were replaced aka suspecting the ball joint failure.

Strength:

Handles better than my 92 voyager due to the 16 inch tires and wheels

Weakness:

A very week transmission that should have been recalled but its easier and cheaper for dodge to let the customer pay for their mistakes. (Last time Dodge customer)

Owned this vehicle for a year and a half put 19000 miles on in that time. Found a puddle on the garage floor one morning and found it to be a transmission leak at 57000 miles. After checking with four transmission shops they all told me the same thing that a pin comes out of a gear inside the transmission and knocks a hole through the side of the case it a very common problem with the four speed overdrive automatic transmission That cost me $1961 of which $600 was for a new case for the design flaw. While I was loading the van on the car dolly to take it for repairs I released the emergency brake only to have it hyperextend and now you can't put it on.
