Strength:
the high view i get helps in seeing traffic ahead.the chair like seats helps in comfort on long trips.the totally reclining drivers and passenger seatbacks are a plus for sleeping in a rest area.the electric operated rear side windows help with ventilation. the adjustable roof rack is help full with my cargo carrier that i got off an R.V.,but i had to go to a junk yard to get two extra luggage rack arms. for a total of four supports.i had a class 2 hitch put on for towing a trailer.the hitch is just a few inches of the ground when the van is empty and sometimes drags with the family in it.the four captain chairs are great for the kids, each can recline and stay apart from each other so that there is less fuss from the children.
Weakness:
well,i dont know where to start to list the weaknesses,so i'll list them as i remember the problems.the headlight assy. should not be made of plastic which clouds up and turns yellowish.the paint job is pealing.not just on the roof but on the front bumper.the serpintine belt comes off when you run over a rain puddle, but it corrected itself when i had the engine mount replaced.the AC compressor was replaced twice both times under my extended policy.the second day i had it the serpintine belt came off because of a failed water pump. i had to replace the pump again just reciently.the little water hose from the thermostate housing to the lower area or the motor which is very difficult to get to had failed internally. the outward apperance showed no signs of age.the serpintine belt tentioner pully was seised the place,as if the tention was no longer in its spring and it also was replaced.the speedometer stoped working and its sensor needed replaced.now the cruise control is intermittent, mostly failing when needed and when it does work it lasts only for a short time or if i hit a bump.the rear struts on the door had to be replaced by me,then a few days later a recieved a recall for it.after the recall for the windshield wipers was done they are now very noisey when they operate.the engine cooling fan stopped without warning, the brushes worn out,it was replaced for one at the junk yard.just reciently the AC system raditor fan was noisey ,it was the bearings,i replaced it also from the junk yard.the O2 sensor was bad and the engine light came on. so i replaced that too.but the light had to be turned off at a repair shop with the use of a computor tool called an OBD2.i found out that the light sometimes turns on at predetermined milages.i have a popping noise when i turn the steering wheel from left to right.the front brake pads and rotors need replaced every year.the rear brakes replaced every other year.the trans mission was rebuilt twice.one from pully a heavy trailer. very good hauler.using it as the main family vehicle.the rear air has to be on for effictive cooling.i get about 17mpg combined.21hwy/13city. Similar Products Used: i had a 86 saab 900 s 2 door sedan that was the family car which doubled as a van.i could fold down the back seats for extra room.it got the same fuel milage as the caravan |

EVERYTHING!!!! THIS IS NOT A GOOD REVIEW FOR THIS PRODUCT. WE HAD A 1997 PLYMOUTH VOYAGER WHICH WE TRADED IN TO GET THIS VEHICLE. WE HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE ONLY A WEEK AND HALF. IT DRIVES ON ITS ON, YOU CAN TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND IT WILL ACCELORATE ON ITS OWN. WE HAVE LESS THAN 300 MILES ON THE VAN AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON. I CANNOT TELL YOU WHAT THE DEALERSHIP IS GOING TO SAY YET AS WE HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO CONTACT THEM DUE TO THE WEEKEND. I KNOW THAT THIS WILL DEFINITELY BE THE LAST CHRYSLER PRODUCT I EVER BY. WITH OUR 97 VOYAGER THE TIMING BELT BROKE AT 12,000, THE HEAD GASKET BLEW AT 15,000 AND AT 25,000 THE WINDSHIELD WIPER PROBLEM THAT EVERYONE COMPLAINS ABOUT HAPPENED. THE SWITCH FOR THE HEATER ALSO QUIT WORKING. WE TRADED IT IN AT 75,000 BECAUSE THE MECHANIC SAID THE TRANSMISSION WAS ABOUT TO BLOW. Similar Products Used: 1997 PLYMOUTH VOYAGER |

everything else Purchased used with 4oook on it. Good in the beginning, but soon problems with abs light, check engine light and all belts wearing out a month after being replaced. Brakes finally failed and everything had to be replaced, they haven't stopped squeaking since. windsheildwipers don't work in delayed options they're haunted.Customer service is a joke, do they send them to the rude and customer is never right or telling truth about their vehicle school? I've always taken it to Dodge Country customer service dept in Killeen,TX, for servicing and it has gradually gotten worse. recently they were suppose to replace my wiper switch but didn't after much trouble it was replaced under warranty and found that that wasn't the problem and I need to pay $500 for a motor or something cause warranty ran out after all this. I love caravans, and I couldn't afford a fully loaded one so I got a standard, nothing in it but a motor and I've still had a lot of problems. Similar Products Used: none |

none. The 95 Caravan was easily the best car I have ever owned. I bought it with 30.000 miles on it I now have 134,000. It had the 3.0 engine. I havent spent $ 400 total on repairs for thet car. It had pep, pickup, and towing strength. Most of my milage was high still it was in a class by itself. |

HAD TO REPLACE BRAKE PADS IN FRONT OFTEN, COOLING FAN SHROUD ONCE BUT IT PROBABLY WAS ONLY A LOOSE WIRE BECAUSE WHEN THE DEALER WANTED TO REPLACE IT AGAIN, I WENT TO ANOTHER SHOP AND HE WIGGLED THE WIRE HARNESS AND IT WAS OK, REPLACED POWER STEERING PUMP I like the van. Feels comfortable, works good. Have 191,000 mile on it. Similar Products Used: HAD A 1990 CARAVAN AND HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION TWICE SO I WASN'T GOING TO BUY ANOTHER DODGE BUT THE PRICE WAS TOO GOOD AND CONSUMER REPORTS HAD RECOMMENDED IT. |

Headlights I can't believe how good this product is. Not normally a Dodge or even a van fan, this van has worked well for our family. It now has 120,000 KM on it. 3.8 liter V-6 a little thirsty, but hauls. I get 24 mpg (Imperial) on the highway. Headlights suck, only complaint. I fixed them with A/M driving lights and 100/80 watt high output bulbs. Forget the built in fog lights-waste of time & money. Tip-if gas mileage poor, replace the plugs. Original plugs only lasted 60,000 KMS. New Bosch platimum plugs are working well after 60,000KMS. Also, air filters are cheap, replace them every 6 months. Handling a little twitchy. I may install a rear anti sway bar and see if that helps. Similar Products Used: Have driven most other vans. Dodge offers good value for the money. Honda the best yet, but pricey. |

roomy, versatile interior, rides very well, the 3.3 engine provides plenty of power, nice exterior design
Weakness:
clock spring mechanism, original Goodyear tires only lasted 39,000 miles The clock spring mechanism was replaced twice by the dealer under warrenty. The battery was replaced under warrenty. The inside surface of the front brake rotors were pitted (noticed during a vehicle inspection) but the dealer replaced these when we voiced concern. 89,000 miles with many trips between Philly and Pittsburgh. This has been a very dependable vehicle. We have loaded it to the roof taking two girls back and forth to college. Similar Products Used: We had a 1988 Caravan with 214,000 miles which we sold and that owner is still driving it. |

Constant problems. Always taking it in for warranty work. We bought the van 1 1/2 years ago and have problems ever since. First the ABS light come on and after 4 attempts we had to take it to another dealer to have it fixed. Now there is an intermittent grinding noise in the front when it is put in reverse and it jumps. The dealer could not find anything. Similar Products Used: None |

Weakness:
Transmission repaired twice, electrical problems, cheap interior made of plastics-easily breakable. Have had various problems since purchasing this vehicle-from electrical to transmission repair. The tires blew out within the first 20,000 miles. The dealer said that it was because the vehicle was overloaded-750 lb. limit.Since the vehicle seats 7, that means everyone must weigh 100 lb. or less and no allowance for luggage. Comfortable ride. Front wheel drive is awesome in the snow. Cuts through it like a battle tank.
Weakness:
At 86k, burning oil and gas mileage crappy. May need tune up to fix. But these are standard issues. We bought the vehicle with 33k on it. It has been dependable and now has 86k with original transmission. Had the demonic wiper problem, which the dealer fixed. Now the headlights come on by themselves. Based on some of the other reviews I have read, we have been lucky. Dealer has been fair based on minor issues we have had. Nothing major. |
