cute, good gas, lots of room, easy driving

i guess i bought a lemon or something along with everyone else...i've spent over $2,000 fixing the car in the past 1 1/2 years...although i love the car i'm gonna buy the newest model next time.

Car is cute as heck, great on gas, lots of room, easy to drive...i love those things about it. Unfortunately the maintenance has been non-stop...where do i start...first of all the battery died 2 times in a year and we had to have it replaced and the dealership said that with the '98 beetles there's a short in the system that does that...also our window motor broke and that was something we had to have fixed...and the temp box that is located under the hood on the battery melted and the car overheated and we had to have that fixed...there's more BUT these things that i have mentioned the dealership said they have been having alot of these types of repairs coming in and also the company is well aware of them and has been trying to remedy this with the later models...too bad for me i bought the first of them.

Has alot of room for being such a small car. Good fuel economy. You get lots of looks, so its great to advertise company logos.

The tan color seats/rugs are awfull to keep clean. There are useless compartments (such as having 4 drink compartments that don't fit a standard size drink. If something goes wrong, its a major expence. I mean major!

Overall this is a fun car to drive around in. The colors to choose from are great! Accessories are endless, but costly. A great company car to advertise in because everyone looks at a bug...especially if its cyber green!

Gas mileage and power, fun to drive

To replace a relay for the fuel pump- I had to drive 350 miles to Ft. Smith- no closer dealers could work on the diesel- took 25 minutes to fix. Really poor service from dealers( there are 4 closer who refused to even look)

Not a vehicle I would buy again. Motor problems,switches breaking, bad paint, bad seat covers, horrible to maintain by individual. Plastic where there should be metal or feinforced fibre. Battery died and so lost computer, radio code, trouble codes, etc. Radio has never worked due to dealer error when fixing the dents in roof it had when new- disconnected antenna apparently.

This is my dream car. I have wanted a vw bug since I was a little girl. When the new bugs came out I was so excited. This is one of the best cars EVER. It has killer gas milage, a great stock sound system and it doesn't hurt that its cute too. This is a perfect car for a teenager. You can have a car full of people and not be crowed.The amount of leg room is unbelievable. Plus the trunk is huge for such a little car.

Well I bought this Beetle and I thought wow this is a great car. Fun to drive, lots of zip, cool looking. What a blast. Then the nightmare began. Power window control failure. Center consol broke. Door handles peeling. Trunk Latch broke. ABS Switch Recall. Oil Pan Guard reset five times. Instrument Cluster replaced. And other small things. It's a real shame because the car is such fun and I was hoping to buy the new convertable when it came out. That isn't going to happen. The service record on this car has been as bad as my VW Rabbit which was the worst car I ever owned.

Fun to drive, great gas milage.

Must go to dealer for service even to change a light bulb. Too many plastic parts. Too many problems for a german engineered car.

It's either write this, or pay a shrink to calm me down. I have owned my new beetle for 4.5 years. Loved the shape, the car rides and acts like a racy small sports car. Has most features one could typically want, including excellant gas milage. The problem with this car is that the typical lay person can't fix anything on this car without taking it to the dealer. NOT EVEN TO CHANGE A HEADLIGHT!! What ever happened to two screws on the lens cap, and access to the bulbs are quick and easy. Too many plastic parts assures that if you do attempt to perform minor maintenance on your vehicle, you willsurely incure 5 times the amount saved to buy replacement pieces that get broken during the attempted repair. Problems over the past 4 years has included: replacemnt of the dash cluster 2 times, alternator, 2 batteries, window repair for not going up all the way, button on parking brake fell off,air bag light that constantly stays on, and a 40,000 mile service that cost me 2500.00.

i bought this car and it only had about 5000 miles on it. it's a total nightmare. every time i turn around something goes wrong. the power window buttons has fell off and become loose even after they were fixed,button on emergency brake fell off, air bag light stays on and its been fixed about 5 or 6 times,alarm on car has been going off, door lock on driver's side doesn't work right,gas lid wouldn't open and i was almost out of gas and it was winter time so i had to break it open. costs 500 dollars to fix. hatch opens after you pull the button a couple of times,seats stain and will not come clean,radio would turn itself down, had to have it replaced,cd changer keeps telling me there's an error,but after awhile it will play. the cd changer cost me about $400 or $500 for the changer and them to put it in. i had this car for about 3 years and i will be selling it or trading it in. no more beetles for me.

Whenever I need to haul something like a couch, a tree, a wal-mart I always prefer to use my bug rather than my H2 hummer b/c of the xtra room it offers. It's much faster and cooler than a viper. I prefer bugs over everything!

One time I had a flat leg and my antenna got stuck.

I hate real bugs but I love this bug. Everytime I get into it I just wanna sing for joy. The thought of riding in a 'bug' is so awesome. I like to pretend when I'm driving that all the other cars are fly swatters and I'm the only bug around and I've got to try and get away from all of them before I die. It makes me so happy.
