Strength:

Peppy, handling, GAS MILEAGE!, economy and room and braking. It has alot of get up and go and loves speed. It is large inside and feels like a much bigger car. Outside it is compact and little. Safety, too is important in small vehicles which this supposedly has. Can be a super family car even.

Weakness:

Steering wheel feels too large. Other than that none! Has everything needed.

I accidentally tripped over my Echo on the Internet. Thought it was the silliest looking vehicle! But curiousity got me. One test drive and that was it - I have owned many large luxury and sport vehicles but my Echo is my pride and joy. This is the most fun car I have ever had. As a commuter my rides now are fun, not long! To the scoffers, you don''t know what you had! I don''t know what you were previously driving but for the price and quality you can''t beat it. An underestimated little guy! I check out many and all the interiors were cheap compared to the ECHO in similar price range. I swore I would never own a small car but I am in love with this one!

Strength:

Gas mileage Roomy Easy in and out Trunk space brakes

Weakness:

Wet weather handling(probably tire size related)

Best car I''ve ever owned and that says alot. My first was a Renault Dauphine(1959) and my most recent was a Mitsubishi Mirage(1991). I didn''t need a new car(the Mitsu) only has 85,000 but this car is a joy to drive and the gas mileage is a big plus. I am on the waiting list for the new BMW Mini and the horsepower to weight ratio is almost identical to the echo. No problems at all.

Strength:

This car handles and steers more like something in the Acura line-up.

Weakness:

It does have a little rattle when sitting still and idle.

This car is everything that fuel economy car wish to be. It has a good ride and feel to it. I can''t believe the amount of power and torque this little car developes. As for the interior room; it is not little at all, it is very roomy and comfortable. I never liked fuel econ. cars until I drove this car.

Strength:

Roomy interior. Very comfortable seats. Quiet. Zippy but very fuel efficient engine (38 mpg with automatic and air). no rattles or squeaks. Awesome 6 speaker stereo system. Just a lot of fun to drive! Also GREAT in our deep snow.

Weakness:

A little bit light and moves around a bit in high winds.

I had been looking at this car since it came out in 2000. Very interesting design. Finally bought one and have never been happier! It is well built, well designed and drives like a much bigger car. The attention to detail was great throughout and I have had no problems. After owning a lot of Chrysler/Dodge products, I can say that I''ll never go back (head gaskets on three cars in three years!).

Strength:

nice looks, good gas, cute, good price, a lot of extras, peppy for a 4.

Weakness:

no clock.......blinky lights if you dont put on your seatbelt.....gets annoying if you dont wear a seatbelt like me. (lol)

great car, great gas mileage, comfy and a neat little car for the price. the only squabbles i have is that the toyota company lets the dealers try to scam you to death with silly little extras. DON''T buy the undercoating, paint coating and scotchguard package, they are a rip off. i did not buy them because they are crazy. the total package is like 1600.00 dux and is not worth 25.00, you can buy silicone treatments in this little thing called silicone in a can and do the seats. works great, if not just put seat covers on it. the paint: just buy the german wax called zymol, you can get it from wal-mart or k-mart and its rated best around, thatll protect ya from acid rain and bird doo doo''s. and the undercoating......do it yourself.

Can''t think of any

Purchased the Echo for my wife. I am currently driving a 1989 Toyota pick up with 182,500 miles on it. I have had vitrually no trouble with it. The Toyota quality made me come back. We looked at other brands but for the comfort, economy and overall performance you can''t beat Toyota

Strength:

Interior roominess (excellent head room) gas mileage storage space trunk space seating (you sit up nice and high in the ECHO vs. having to sit down into the seat) fun to drive -- while not a hot rod, this little car has zip Decent stereo/sound system

Weakness:

Power mirrors would be great, but for a car in this price range I am hard pressed to find any weaknesses.

I, too, am an older than average ECHO owner by about 30 years for which this vehicle''s sales were targeted for. I have enthusiastically recommended this car to many of my peers because not only is it fun to drive, it is an easy car to get in and out of. There is an amazing amount of room, and it''s very inexpensive to drive. If you want a luxury sedan this is not the car for you, but if you want a reliable, economical, easy to park and turn around in a tight space vehicle this is the car for you. I actually did a major downsize from a gas guzzling SUV and I haven''t looked back with regret for one minute. I have found the ECHO responds better on icy roads than the SUV. The ECHO, however, does not push snow worth a darn. The good news is that it is easy to get unstuck :-) The brakes are 100 times better than the brakes I had in my Blazer (also known as "what brakes??")

Strength:

Easy entry/exit. Excellent driver''s view. Great gas mileage. Great handling. Spunky engine. Great overall performance.

Weakness:

None that I''ve noticed.

You can buy a bigger car. You can buy a faster car. You can buy a more luxurious car. You can buy a more prestigious car. But you can''t buy a better car. I''ve read that Toyota''s target market for this car was the young. I''m not young - I''ve had a lot of cars since 1959 - and this is the best one yet!
