Strength:
Strong reliable engine
Weakness:
Road and air noise, lots of creaks. Electrical Short somewhere? Struts hard to replace The car is awsome. Got the car with 160,000 miles. Put an oil change in it and it was ready to go. Still have factory speakers in rear sound fine. Despite a poor aftermarket paint job, the car is in good workign order. Be careful of the lower stearing arms, bushings need to be replaced at 100,000 miles, if not, the car wont hold an alignment and will tear up tires. Runs best on Unleaded Plus (89 octaine) with gum cleaner in the tank with every oil change. Keep the fluids full and the car will outlive you. Have fun. Be Safe. Similar Products Used: None |

Celica GT
Strength:
- Very spunky for a 4 cylinder
Weakness:
- Limited visability For all the 2000 model owners, Toyota did get rid of the reverse warning beep, and I've heard this car was destined for problems with the CD player skipping, but I've had no such problem as of yet. This car begs to be driven fast!!!!! I really don't know what the right hand lane on the highway is for anymore. This car is totally fun to drive, my biggest complaint is teenage boys wanting to race me these days. Similar Products Used: Mits. Eclipse - Too cheap looking, with no power. |

Strength:
the car has style
Weakness:
little torque, little horsepower....this car is not a sports car. Don't get me wrong, it can be fun, but even v6 mustangs beat me off the line If you like the looks of small sporty cars then this is the one for you, but if you are looking for a car that is truely fun to drive look elsewhere. There is no mistaking it for a sports care when you try to race from a stop light. Similar Products Used: 2000 civic SI...both are too weak...this is the last import i'm going to ever own. i already ordered a 2001 Mustang Cobra...hell and its only costing me 4k more for 140 more hp and 3 times the torque! |

Strength:
I think some of the strengths are the design of the car. The body style just dices right throught the wind going around sharp curves. I live in rural area of NC thats has many different types of curves and very easy to go around them with this car. The Speed of this car is very good for a 4-cylinder. It's not that fast coming off the line but trust me it makes up for in long Run. Also the car is very low maintance. I bought the car for $1,200 with a rebuilt engine. the only work I had to do was get a new paint job,new tires, new muffler, and rack and pinion all this for about $2,000 but it's worth it.
Weakness:
The only problem I have had with this cars is the heat. After taking it to everyone around town they finally told me in was the computer. I couldn't believe this car being an 86" had an computer in it!!! I love my car, I love any Toyota Celica that I see on the road. I think it's the best import car in the world. I would suggest this car to anyone that whats a sportscar but dosen't what to pay the price of a sportscar. Similar Products Used: Ford Mustang= dosen't drive as good to loose feeling |

I still love my car! Both my husband and I have Celicas, his is a 1991 GT and it's running great too. We plan on purchasing another Celica when our 1988 one finally dies but we are shooting for 200,000 miles on it! Similar Products Used: None |

GT Convertible
Strength:
Excellent build quality. Beautifully sculptured body. Unique yet ergonomic interior made with with top quality material (should've been sold as a Lexus). Sublime shifter. Sticks to the ground like it's on rail. Great steering feel. Great gas mileage. After 2-1/2 year I still don't know what cowl shake is. Exclusivity because very few were made.
Weakness:
Weak engine not helped by extra weight of the convertible top. Cup holders interfere with shifting. Noisy, but then it's a convertible. This car has got one of the most unique interior of any car I've ever seen. Love the cockpit style dash and console. All plastic surfaces are either soft-touch or painted with flat black paint. Every swith and button have that quality feel. Nothing rattles or shakes even when the car goes triple digit. Shifter throw is a little long, but you can always tell which gear it's in. Excellent feel - you can almost feel the gears engage. Clutch take up is perfect. Steering is very communicative. Engine is uninspired but it never sounds harsh when revved. The car would've been perfect with a V-6. As is this is more a personal sporty coupe than a sports car. This car never sold well because of its cost. But once you sit inside you know where the money went. It is unbelievable a version of this convertible was ever available with a 1.8L engine. The standard 2.2L is barely adequate to lug the convertible top around. Similar Products Used: 2000 Miata. The Miata is faster and more nimble. But the Celica is equal or better in all other aspect including practicality. |

Celica GT-S
Strength:
-Sportbike-like revving
Weakness:
-Steering and braking feels a bit muted at times You don't just drive this car, you experience it. The Celica GT-S has proven to me that cars just aren't for getting to point A to point B, but from point A to points C,D,E,F,etc. then to point B with a SMILE on my face. I have often found myself leaving for work a good 20 minutes earlier to carve up a twisty road or at a deserted country road practicing a perfect launch. I've never doubted my purchase of this car. Gives a small lag in power deliver when starting from a standstill. Anyone living in Australia. if you want somthing thats got everything then there is only one choice. get the celica. looks are great compared to other cars. turns heads......damn there gonna break thier necks looking at this thing. car has performance. VVTL-i kicks in and gives a nice feeling "WHAM" at 6000rpm. cornering is probably the best performance charateristic. spot on. WRX exists in every corner. Type R is getting too old. 200SX looks el'cheapo. get somthing with class ladies and gentlemen. Similar Products Used: WRX - this car just shows performance, over rated ugly. You gotta love this car. That VVT-i KICK u get when u rev it up beyond 7400 makes it a lotta fun 2 drive. I also like it's looks, the one's it got, and the one's I get whenever I drive it around. For a low end sports car, it sure got a rad design.
Weakness:
The stupid advertising from Toyota if u ask me. I just hate the ketchup bottle ad. But seriously, the location of the R shift feels weird. I keep shifting into 6th, expecting it to go backwards. Sometimes I will also mix-up the 1st with the reverse, and maybe, just maybe - I'll hear it beeping. The Reverse Beep doesn't do anything 4 me. (Not when u're blasting rave tunes over the 8 speaker system :-). I downright like the car. Even when I paid much more than most guys here did. (Destination charges). It's no Acura NSX (best I've driven), but it's a reliable little car. Add *DIFFERENT* nice looks. Similar Products Used: ACURA NSX- Low end exotic, but almost a 200 mph car. Don't embarrass yourself. Forget racing it. |
