power, power, power, oh.... and handling too! Easy to upgrade to a turbo, or twin turbo like mine. There is very little T-lag due to the intakes. Good suspension, with wider tires handles like a dream
Weakness:
Air noise at high speeds Love the car! I will keep this for along time and continue to add MORE POWER....UrUrUrUrUr! Similar Products Used: 1989 240sx SE Fastback - The 240 is better in the turns, but cannot catch the GT off the line |

As a proud owner of a Celica my whole 10 years of driving (including the infamous Landspeeder, an 83 brown on brown with electric sunroof and fatty Cooper Cobras) it's cool to see most of you like the new ones. I'm 6foot5 and I fit better in my Celica than most larger cars. It looks good, it's inexpensive to gas up, and you can virtually ignore it and it'll still run. And of course, all electric, including sunroof.
Weakness:
OK, mine is like a huge vibrator, maybe a loose engine. Pickup isn't what it used to be. Celica's are notorious for the little things, it makes the character: I can't open the trunk with the keys, only one mirror moves, the seatbelts may or may not work, the seats have a mind of their own.... With many manufacturers dropping small sports cars (see RX7) for SUVs, we must keep the Celica tradition alive! Not many foreign models have been around for over 25 years. I'd buy a new one, but I kinda like the oldschool better. Great value, good looks, and don't forget the sunroof! Similar Products Used: None compare |

Strength:
The design of the Body is very nice. The power of the engine is very good for it's size.
Weakness:
Even in cyberspace there isn't enough room to list everything. Let's start at the front. There is no control of the lights, so if you get home late consider lazer beaming your neighbors when you pull in the drive. The alarm system uses an irritating "beeping" sound to let you, and your neighbors, know that you are unlocking or locking the car. AND forget opening the hatch while the alarm is on EVEN if you use the key. That just sets it off. There are 100 ways to program this alarm system, but not one to silence it. I asked the dealership to remove it. They would for $700. The seats are not made for humans. There is no back support and if you drive as much as I do, the seats bottom out. Essentially there are two adjustments. Forward and back. And the lean of the seat. No suport adjustments at all. Now for the BEST part. The interior is all plastic. What car isn't, right? Well anything that touches it scratches it. finger nails, shoes, and even the seatbelt buckles. I had new door panels installed in the first month. This is REALLY cheap plastic!! I thought Toyota would know better, but that's why the price was reduced. This car came with a mirror that automatically adjusted at night. It didn't work due to the fact that the spoiler blocks the lights of the cars behind you and there is no way to bypass it. The Dealership wanted to charge me to remove it and for a new mirror.(Over $200) After remiding them that I didn't order this item and writing to Toyota directly they agreed to remove it. Everything about this vehicle is cheap. It has no vanity mirror lights, no map lights and the rear seats are cheap looking in comparison to the front interior. My interior is black. The rear seats are gray. This is a great looking piece of garbage. Toyota should look into a drug testing program. The fact that this car got past the design stage without anyone saying anything says a lot about Toyota. This car has too many design flaws to list and would take incredible stupidity by management to let it come to fruition. I tried to return the car after the first 500 miles and was offerd a trade in value of $16,000 by the dealership where I bought it! My Dealership, Gettel Toyota of Bradenton, didn't help the situation any either. After they found I was dissatisfied they cut off all contact with me. I feel sorry for anyone that owns one of these cars. Most recent trade in offer was $13,000. That's a $8,000 loss in the space of one year. Time to rate is below! Darn! They don't have negative numbers! Similar Products Used: For the money, you could buy a LOT more car. I owned a 1996 Eclipse. This car isn't anywhere near it in comfort nor does it have any of the necessities for driving. |

(1)Id have to say the style, it was love at first sight. I was obsessed with the Celica the second I laid eyes on it. (2)Its not a Honda! nuttin personal against Hondas, but, Toyotas just kick ass!. Celicas look nicer in stock trim than any other Honda car out there (exept the NSX) (3)the new VVT-i whoops on any other kind of engine technology (V-tec) (4) the interior is just awsome, from the dash to the bucket seats, theres nothing I dislike about the interior (5) Chicks love it!!!!
Weakness:
Hmmmm, this one is hard, but id have to say the availability of aftermarket parts. If you do find parts for it, its gonna cost ya a grip of $$$$. This is where Hondas have the advantage, they have a massive variety of aftermarket parts and its sold at cheap prices. I also dont like the way the interior is easily scratched and the bad visibility on the blind corners. The orange color scheme on the cluster gauge isnt to nice, but I can live with it. Despite the very very minor flaws, the Celica is still number 1 on my list. So far its been a GREAT 7 months, im still in stock trim but ive whooped on so many Civics,(except SI's, that ones for the GTS peeps) sum integs n other 4-banger imports. It surely will turn sum heads, specially the laydies, hehe, but overall I LOVE the Celica. Once more parts become available & get more $$$$, then ill start fixing it up. WHAT THE? only five star maximun! this one deserves a lil bit more than that. Similar Products Used: Honda Prelude - very fast, but it just dont look as good in the inside AND outside. It also eats alot more gas than the Celi. |

this car was comfortable, roomy, and fast. it also was very sporty and was once compared to a porshe in looks. had a customized unniversal muffler, flat filter, and 13" racing rims. this car was not only fast, but reliable!
Weakness:
nothing. great car i once beat a dodge shadow with 4 kids in the car that were very over weight. i smoked that guy. i also beat a mustang, it mitw be ahrd to believe but it was only a 4 banger. i had a 135hp of pure racing fury. i miss the car and i wish i didnt sell it for three air conditioners. but at least i am cold in the summer now. this was the ultimate racing machine. i woud recommend this car for anyone that isnt that rich but wants a sporty looking car. my favorite color in this was baby blue. This car is very fast in the long run but starts to slow down around 115 or so. Great Interior Design, love the way inside is set up. Pretty good on gas unless I have it right to the floor (which is most of the time).
Weakness:
Lot's of air sounds inside the car, Losing transmission, Exauhst pipes go fast. Don't really like hatchback design. Well right now my tranny is going and I need to get it replaced, so I'd like to trade or sell my car to get a Toyota Supra. Distinct looks, no side moldings, clean bumpers, hood scoop and new (Vtec) technology, high compression, 6 speed, nice leather, big cup holders, best dash ive seen in a stock car
Weakness:
Low end is a bit weak. (i have AEM cold air intake btw)If you get the GTS with leather its a bit pricy for a Naturally aspirated Toyota. My teg could probably take it in 1/8 mile but after that this Celicas top end will go off. The high cam kickover is way meaner than Vtec on hondas.
