Incredible suspension, comfortable interior, great luggage capacity, robust engine w/ balls-o''-fire and a fun factor of ''10'' for a dad who drives a lot.

Weakness:

The 1,000 mile break-in period is hard.

For a small family of four (my wife & 2 boys ages 7 & 5), this car is PRACTICAL and just plain FUN!! WOW! Skiing trips to New Hampshire & Vermont will not be the same!

Rally Blue attracts lots of attention. fast, great handling, easy to get more performance.

Weakness:

needs 17" wheels, blue has to be the hardest color to keep clean.

I bought this car 2 months ago and all I can say is that there is not a more satisfying car for 25k. It out handles and out accelerates anything in its class. Some complain about the car being to slow off the line. That is because they don''t know how to drive it. I chose this car over an MR2 spyder and Honda Prelude. Mr2, good looks, too slow. Prelude, just too slow. WRX, fast and nimble and easily tunable. I can''t wait to turn the turbo up and watch the vettes start to sweat.

Strength:

The obvious: acceleration, handling, all wheel drive, and great seats.

Weakness:

No ski rack. I presume racks will slow it down?

Love it so far. I know some will cringe but I bought an automatic. I drive close to 40,000 miles a year for work and the standard is not an option for me...and yes I can drive a standard. The auto transmission does a fine job.

Weakness:

cd player takes time to load cd low end torque could be better lame cup holder

This is a car for people who love cars. If you buy a car because it is a pretty color or has a cool cup holder, look elsewhere the genius of this car is wasted on you. Anyone reading this, however, is probably more of an enthuiast. I want to start with the interior. This car is getting some slack for having a cheap/econobox interior. I completely disagree. the dash/controls are all easy to use/see and a definite notch above average. Now add a momo leather wrapped steering wheel, kick ass sport seats that strap you in and beg for a hard turn, drilled pedals cooler than the pedals on any car today at any price. I opted, as should everyone for 200.00 (everything mentioned above is standard), the steering wheel mounted turbo gauge which instantly gives the car a euro/rally/slot car feel that makes my insides tingle every frigin time I look down at it. GENIUS! The overall package inside brings a smile to my face and a definite inner glow each time I sit in it. There is no leather or sunroof or navigation system nor should there be in keeping with the true nature of a rally car. This car is a kick ass mountain dweller that explodes through mud, tackles rain and shoots your head into the truck with its explosive power. You want refinement? buy a lincoln or burn another 15,000 and get the bmw, great car I suppose but NEVER a value EVER! Also, the WRX rockets to 60mph in 5.7 seconds. That embarrasses almost every BMW, AUDI, MERCEDES, JAGUAR, VOLVO on the market. The simple truth is these cars can''t touch the perfromance of this subaru. Obviously some models can and do but now you are into SERIOUS money. If you have under 35,000 and call yourself a driving enthuiast, the choice is clear. Also, the handling is absolutely unbelievable, you will never have a dull entry ramp experience again. Handling and performance are both excellent, better than what you are expecting and you probably expect a lot based on reviews and the car''s stats. The extra bonus of this car that I didn''t expect: It is surprisingly refined with minimal wind noise and quite a smooth comfortable ride. At 65mph, the tac is below 3000rpm and the ride feels refined as if a car far more expensive than it is. Ok, so now you probably think I am a spokesperson for subaru, so what is wrong with this car, what are its flaws. The wrx has few but they do exist. It isn''t turbo lag but the power delivered b

Strength:

Handling, acceleration after turbo

Weakness:

Interior, choice of options

Let me start by saying this review is from a TEST DRIVE only, so it''s generally 1st impressions after 45 minutes of driving. I was really excited about finally giving the WRX a go and hoped that it lived up to the way it''s advertised -- a gutsy compact with rally in its blood (sleeper!). When I pulled out of the lot, the first thing I noticed was how slow it was to respond off the line. (I''m not used to having to give some room to pull out into traffic with my current vehicle.) Once on the road, I put the pedal down, got it into the Rs and about 1-2 seconds at 4000 the turbo kicked in and it was like a rocket. Before I realized it I was doing 70 in a matter of seconds. Handling-wise, it''s stiff with very little roll. It grips twisty roads even when you throw it into turns and hit the gas. ("The magic of all wheel drive" as they say.) Now for the downside. I was quite disappointed with the interior. Cheap cheap cheap. The dash is like something you''d find in econoboxes, the center console/armrest looks as if it could break just by bumping it too hard with your elbow, and the cloth seats remind me of "value-priced" upholstry. The stereo looked out of place too -- silver trim in a charcoal interior? It looked like something from a mid=80s Chrysler. It''s too bad that Subaru had to cut corners with the WRX interior after they did such a good job with other cars like the Outback. I imagine it''s to keep the price down, but it''d be nice if there were options for different interiors or at least colors. (How about a leather package?) Bottom line: it''s fun, but because of the interior, not worth $24k.

Strength:

Everything...except the stock tires

Weakness:

Nothing...except the Bridgestone RE92''s

I have waited 2 years for the WRX to come to the states. Took delivery in late April and have yet to be disappointed. This is the most real-world sports car available. Pavement, dirt, grass, it just plain goes...FAST. It will take speed bumps, rough roads, Michigan potholes, I have not found a road yet it could not handle, and oh does this car handle, beautifully. The wagon adds to the utility and draws little attention. The acceleration from a stop light has more than suprised many ''muscle cars''. Anyone who wants a sports car they can drive all year, goes unnoticed, and can spank most other cars 0 - 40 mph should seriously consider the WRX. This little car is not just for ''kids'', I am 39 y/o.

Strength:

Strong motor. Great torque for a 2.0 liter 4. Smooth shifting with the short throw shifter.

Weakness:

Had to buy a gauge pack to get Manifold pressure, oil temp and volts. A sports car should come with more than just water temp gauge. (pretty minor complaint.)

Got the Rex in July and I have to say I have been thrilled. The car handles really well. You have to work at it a little to get great straight line acceleration but it is there. I feel that you get a lot of car for the money. Not only is it fast but it should also do well in nasty road conditions as well. The all wheel drive seems to help handleing. I really like the way it corners. I have done one auto x with her and I was amazed at how well it held the road. I have had a short drive in an Acura Type R Integra and really enjoyed that car as well but I think this car fits us better. Bottom line this is a great car for the money. I am anxious to see the STI version. I believe that Subaru has started something here. I also believe that we will start to see other manufactureers following suit. Mitsubishi is talking about bringing a 275hp Lancer over and Ford with a version of their rally Focus.

Fast, Fast, Fast, oh, and inexpensive too. Great brakes, transmission, and seats. Awesome sound system.

Weakness:

ummm...... I don''t like the sun visors, they seem cheap.

I haven''t driven a ton of really fast cars, but I have driven enough to know that this is the most fun I''ve had in years. The turbo kicks in early enough that if you clutch it right, you can stay in turbo from 0-140MPH. I love to hear a girl''s squeal when we take off to 60MPH in under 6 seconds. It''s also nice to leave other cars in the dust. True, this car doesn''t have a lot of luxuries, but when you care about performance, that''s something you don''t want anyway. It has great seats, a cool look, and lots of little things that make it fun and easy to drive. I have yet to meet someone that doesn''t ooh and ahh when I drive by. Anyone who knows cars gets excited when I tell them I own one. Don''t forget the in-dash 6 disc changer and keyless entry. And not to mention the All Wheel Drive. This one is one for the collector''s garage.

Great Engine Performance. AWD is awesome!! Bang for your Buck! Upgrade possiblities are unlimited, with very proven parts from around the world. Excellent drivers position. Cannot wait for the snow!!!

Weakness:

Suspention is a bit noisy for some. Stero is ok, but nothing beats aftermarket systems. Poor placement of second cup holder. ;-)

I have just turned over 2500 miles on my WRX and have loved every single mile. The acceleration and road manners for this vehicle is excellent at any price. The AWD really provides sure footing on corners by shifting the power between the wheels. To all of those who say that there are better vehicles out there, I will not deny this. However, you will pay much more and with the money saved on this fine automobile, I will be upgrading with proven aftermarket parts. In fact, for a stage two upgrade the WRX can push out 320HP and still be well under 30K. I challange you to find another car that boasts the ability to do that, with AWD, 4 doors, useable backseat, ample trunk space. This is truly a drivers car
