Strength:

We call it "zippy" - handles great on sharp turns - even in bad weather, the front-wheel drive is excellent. Great gas mileage. A "feel good" car.

Weakness:

A defect in the brake pads caused me to have an accident. Unbeknownst to me that there was a defect. When my Dad and I took the pads off to inspect the brakes, they crumbled into our hands - unsettling feeling. After replacing the brakes, everything was fine! Had to replace: belt tensioner; serpentine belt; air conditioner condenser - just as the major items.

I really have enjoyed my car. Unfortunately, the worst thing is that I''ve outgrown the compact space that I think it better designed for less tall people. My parents purchased a 1993 Saturn in 1992 and it still runs strong. I have my hopes to buy their 1993 Saturn for it is a four-door with more leg room - they have purchased a 2001 Saturn. We can''t say enough good about Saturn!

It handles great and tight. THe shift is easy and feels good, the factory stereo isn''t to bad and the interior is simple and comfortable

Weakness:

This is the best car I''ve ever owned, after a 240sx and a cavalier. It''s quick enough as a stick shift and I feel very in control.

Strength:

The Service at Saturn cannot be beat! The gas mileage was SUPER. The stereo system was surprisingly great. I have not had one problem even after owning the vehicle for over three years. This car would be great for teens!!

Weakness:

The size of the car. Only children can fit in the back seat and no one over 5''8" can fit in the car comfortably. I noticed it was very hard to drive on windy days and in deeper snow - car is too light. The biggest problem that I had with the car is that I could never get it to accelerate when the air-cond. was on.

Love everything about the car although I am ready for something larger. I haven''t had ANY problems with this vehicle. It was in two bigger accidents and each time the repairs were only minor due to the "breakaway" design on the car. The lease is up very soon and I will be sad to see it go but I need to get something with more passenger space and a V6. Oh yeah, one more thing...I went through a hail storm and did not get one dent:)

Strength:

Very quick 5 speed (will smoke crx,ex,and some acuras) Beautiful interior, for comfort and style. Increadible suspention and aeros, with GREAT gas mileage. Bright Yellow exterior and a killer stock stereo all for a really low price.

Weakness:

Rides a little high so when it does slid it slides. Rims are lame stock. does not whined out at high RPMs like the SI.

I am completely sick of all of the LAME ass import lovers ragging no Saturn. My Saturn is faster than almost every honda and junk import i have raced, and i get double the gas mileage they do. There are some nice imports but come at a price not economical. My car was cheap, it runs better than perfect, and has way more class than the cheezy wanna be import racers. I have no disrespect for forien cars i just dont like all the hype. They are not nearly as rounded as a quality saturn. Once saturn has been in buisness for a while they will be whipping out cars to eat the import invators alive.

Strength:

Good for the first 50K- Great on Gas, and incredible indentable panels

Weakness:

Parts are expensive; dealership gets a little hostile about not being the ones to do the work even though used parts bought at Saturn. Even complained that the Wires used (which I bought the whole kit at Saturn) did not have waterproof conectors. Engine very loud, not for tall people.

I initially thought this car was great. I bought it with 22k on it two years old. The first year I had no problems with it at all. As soon as I got over 50k things started to go. Alternator, coolant sensor, master cylander, engine mount, struts. So far I have sank about a thousand into it and looking at another thousand with what I know is wrong with it. I won''t be keeping this car

Strength:

Gas mileage, Body pannels, quick and nibble. Insurance cost is cheap.

Weakness:

Seats, there kinda soft and unsupportive.

I bought this car new in October of ''98 as a ''99 model with everything but leather and a sunroof. I have the 2 door not the 3 door. Its great in the winter, of all the winters I have had this car, i have never gott''in stuck in the snow(i have traction control). The a/c is still strong to this day and the gas milage is about 28-34 in the summer, lower in the winter. Since this car is 3/4 plastic and 1/4 steel, the car is easy to clean and if you wax/polish at least 1-2 a year, the rust should stay away. I have over 43K on the car, the tires and battery are still strong, but i did replace the front brakes in August of ''01. The hood has a few chips because of the way it "sloops" down. The only gripe i have are the seats, they get soft really fast, and I weigh less then 130lbs. The dealer is really nice and you get a free car wash every time you go for an oil change, which costs about $24. This is my second Saturn SC2. I will not be getting another one because im tired of it, I want something new and different. The suspension is kinda stiff, so be prepare for a kinda "jittery" ride. I have had NO unscheduled stops to the dealer, so think about that. There has been 1 recall for the seat belts, but nothing major. I believe this is a great car for a new driver. It won''t win races, but you''ll save on repairs and gas.

Strength:

Fuel economy

Service - fixed oil consumption problem no charge at 100k miles
Comfortable interior

Weakness:

Engine
Brakes
Service - have been unable to diagnose some problems.

I've got 155,000 miles on my Saturn, and just put the second new set of rotors on all around, and new calipers on front. Spend about half of what the car is worth, but it's still cheaper than a new car payment. For comparison, I went 173,000 miles on my '85 Honda Accord before I even needed the front pads replaced (lots of highway driving). The brakes on the Saturn have been just terrible. The original rotors warped and needed turning under warrantee, and then were replaced at about 70k miles, and now again at 155k.

Then there is the engine. It started using oil early in life and was up to a quart every 1000 miles by 100k miles. Saturn said this was "normal for an engine with 100k miles." We reminded them that some of their competitors don't even need a tune-up for 100k. We were starting to look for a replacement when my husband was approached by the Saturn Service manager in a grocery store parking lot. The Service manager asked him how he liked his Saturn (he has a '92 SL2 with the same problems as mine), and my hubby unloaded on him about the brake and engine problems we'd had on both cars. The guy offered to overhaul both cars at the dealers expense. No strings attached, just "Saturn is a different kind of car company, etc. Not the same BS we'd gotten when we'd taken the car in for diagnosis. We took him up on the offer, and found out mine needed a new piston as well. All fixed, no charge, plus new belts and motor mounts for my hubby's car.

On the plus side, I got rear-ended by someone in a Honda Accord. The nose on the Accord was crumpled to the point of totaling the car. My bumper got a cut in the plastic, and my driver's seat frame bent. Saturn could not find the problem with the seat, even after I clearly described it. Had to take it elsewhere for repairs. Three different mechanics could find no damage to the rear of the car, other than the cut plastic on the bumper. No injuries in either car.

Will I buy another Saturn? Probably not.

Chose the Saturn over the Honda Civic because Honda has gotten arrogant and forces you to buy their top-end model to get anti-lock brakes, with lots of other stuff I didn't want or need.

Ummmmm....Not many at all. Wish it had a V6 but I knew what i obught when i bought it.

Awesome Sporty car. This is my first reliable car. I used to have a 1989 Chevy Celebrity. LOL!!!! That was a joke. I was looking for a reliable, sporty car for me. This Saturn car just blew mw away. I purchased it with all the goodies. One thing i had to have was the sunroof. That was a must. Of course i got one hehe. I just wish my baby had more punch to her. Dont get me worng she does now but i would like a little more. But with a few minor modifications things will change.

Gas mileage, car makes a satisfying thump when you kick it

Weakness:

too much to list, seats are very uncomfortable, cheap interior, loud, slow, 124 hp (i'm sorry, its just sad that the upgraded model has 124 hp), cheap wheels, cheap controls, stupidly designed security system, saturn service (took 2 hours to change the oil in the POS, 2 HOURS!), i could go on. If you really want to hear more feel free to email me.

Every time I drive this car I look in the rear view mirror and pray to god the guy behind me rear ends me and does away with this horrid little vehicle. The car is a piece of crap, plain and simple. I had gotten a very good deal on the car, but I’m going to give it a 1 star. That is because if you purchase this car new, for the same price you can get a much better vehicle with more options. There is simply no reason to buy this car.
