Strength:

Good overall powerband...engine is fairly smooth compared to earlier models. Plastic body panels will not dent :) Very easy to work on. Overall styling is fairly unique as well. Handles quite good in stock form as well.

Weakness:

Manual shifter sticks up too high! Car should be lower as well. Third door for me is pretty much useless. Larger powerplant option would be nice as well. Also, new wheel designs would be nice. Some trim pieces are off a bit (overall fit and finish is good tho).

Paid $26k CDN loaded w/leather, sunroof, etc. everything but the automatic. So far it has been a good experience. I would recommend this car to anyone without hesitation. Also, aftermaeket support is growing, which is a definite plus in my books...

Strength:

The engine is much quieter than other years. The 3rd door is the best thing ever for my wife and 1 year old son. With the Hotshot Powerstack intake, Header and other inexpensive modifications this car really scoots. The new instro cluster is Awesome. No more slider A/C controls.

Weakness:

I don't like the design of the back cup holders on the center rest, they are cheesy and don't really hold well.

Great car and love the overall aspect of Saturn. Saturn is the future. www.mysaturn.com

Strength:

Nimble and positive handling, good acceleration, styling, fuel efficiency, deep and firm seat (front), retractable headlamps

Weakness:

Noisy engine (especially at high RPM), general fit and finish of the interior mouldings, slight tendency for torque steer, rusty brakes

I bought mine new and fully loaded in 1994 for for around $18.5K, including an extended warranty. First, I am happy to report that I have not needed to use the extended warranty. The car has been very reliable.

I test drove the cars listed above at the time. The Corolla and Probe are nicer cars, for sure, but they are more expensive, heavier, and guzzle more gas. The Honda Civic on the other hand was simply not as sporty or quick as the Saturn.

In general, the car offers attractive styling, good acceleration, and excellent handling. It's a very fun car to drive, if you don't mind the firm ride and the engine which get very noisy above about 4500 RPM.

I have heard many complaints about the seats in these things (I am only talking about the front seats), but it must be a personal thing. I think the seats in my Saturn are one of the most supportive and comfortable. It seems like the car is designed for small people (I am only 5' 5").

Meachnically, the only problems I had are the rear brakes. They have tendency to get rusty. I can only get about 3 years life out of new brakes on this car. Other than that, the car has always had a slight tendency to torque steer to the right. And the interior mouldings have been less than robust.

These cars have kept their resale value very well. I don't plan to sell my any time soon, but they are good buys on the used market.

After nearly six years, the car has never failed start on the first turn of the key, and I am still on the original battery!

Strength:

Great off the line. Amazing stock stereo. Good gas milage. Quiet relative to older Saturns. Dent resistant panels makes it look good longer. Third door is really handy.

Weakness:

Stock Firestone tires hurt the performance of the car.

Out of the box the car is good. It improves when you upgrade to 15" wheels (it comes standard with 14" rubber) and replace the Firestone tires with better rubber. Compared with Honda and other sporty cars, it holds it own. If you like a sporty car that holds it value well, check out the SC1.

Paid $21K CDN for it.

Nice looking car for it's age. Bought mine used 2.5 yrs ago, and it has held up pretty well. Decent power, 30 mpg. Paint and body panels continue to look brand new.

Weakness:

Noisy. Starting to develop minor rattles in the dash.

Bought mine used. I would recommend it. Saturn service is excellent. Nothing major has gone wrong with it, but I did have to replace my radiator and rear brake cylinder.

my 1993 sc-2 arnt made the way hey used to be. The hideaway lights and body are striking and sharp. Although alot of people dog saturns for pick-up, I gladly say that I race mine. The engine has has quite a few modifications. The cars hosre power has gone up 50 horses or so because of the Racing Computer chips, air intake/exaust and a little bigger tires in the front and back.

Weakness:

nothing at all

http://www.sounddomain.com/8032 is the link for my stereo instalation page. This car is barely stock anything anymore. I smoke alot of different cars, 4,6,or even some 8cyl's this is my hobby, the car and I believe my saturn is the loudest(stereo) nicest looking and FASTEST saturn on the road

Beautiful, reliable coupe with good handling and gas economy

Weakness:

Very underpowered, noisy, worse pick-up than some minivans

Don't be fooled by this car's strikingly good looks; it just doesn't have the performance to match. Even if you
consider Saturn's excellent service (which is unrivaled for used cars), it's still not worth it. That is, unless you enjoy being smoked by a Neon

Strength:

Saturn service, nice stereo (for stock), sporty lookin', fun to drive. Corners well and has some power for a 4-cylinder coupe. Pretty decent mileage.

Weakness:

Seats are uncomfortable! impossible to see the front end of the car while driving, making parking and braking difficult. Needs a V6 model. Limited back seat room, but I don't care since I only drive myself around.

sticker is $18,800 for a new SC2 with Cd and sunroof. I had a certificate which gave me a discount, or else I would not have got the Saturn. It's an OK car but not worth $19K. It's a good car to get right out of college if you want something economical but not boring or unoriginal (like a Civic, Corolla, etc.).

Strength:

Sporty styling with high performance four cylinder engine.
Safety and drivability are most definately among the hightest in its class. I have not used a car that has better handling or performance on the road (same class)

Weakness:

As with all sports cars it IS a bit hard to get into. Saturns limited options make it difficult to customize. The four cylinder works but this car would be much better with a V6 or V8 engine. Turbo might be a nice option for this car too

All in all this car gives you a very good bang for your buck. I found my beauty at a steal for six thousand dollars fully loaded. (Of course it was used) If you are small enough, want style but not sports car insurance then this is DEFINATELY a car to look into buying.

Strength:

Service from the dealership, dependable, low cost of ownership

Weakness:

underpowered, noisy

I enjoy my owning my Saturn more than driving my Saturn. The view of sight while driving, the sound level in the car, and the lack of "pick-up" can be annoying. Visiting the dealership is always a pleasure, I can always count on the car and have never had any problem(s) with it.
