Strength:

I like the pick up on it. The sound system is great. really good sports car. The gas mileage is awesome, I get like 35 miles to a gallon on the Freeway. 2.4 engine is really powerfull with the twin-cam

Weakness:

I've had some trouble with the car. The egine light seems to come on often for no apparent reason and goes off a day or two later. I've had the spark plug boot come off and I was running on 3 cylinders and that was not cool.

6404 was a geat deal. I would recomend this car to anyone. Its a fun sporty car. The sunroof is nice because it opens all the way. The 5-speed manual is awesome, it really goes when you want it too. One thing that I don't like is the whistling of the engine when its idoling. Its so annoying and makes you think there might be something wrong with the engine.

Strength:

Good gas mileage.

Weakness:

Weak power.

I got this car as a hand-me-down from my dad (70,000 miles) for $3500. While at college, I used it rarely, only to go home. When I moved back home after graduating and the usage increased, I started having problems with it. A $800 engine job, two brake jobs, and other little repairs really made me not look forward to driving it. This may be because the car is a little older and high mileage (it has 101,000 miles now), and this is the first car I have owned, so I don't have the experience to evaluate it well. The blue-book when I bought it was around $4500, and now I can only get about a $1800 in trade-in for it. This car is good for younger people (high school or college students), but get rid of it after that.

Strength:

Lots of power, excellent handling, sporty looks

Weakness:

poor rear visibility

This is an awesome car. Pros include impressive handling, lots of power, and sporty looks. The only real cons I've found are poor visibility when backing up (expect to run over a few little kids) and a terrible cupholder position (doesn't even clear the shifter!). All in all, a great car (so far...)

Good heater, nice paint, OK on gas.

I only had the car 15 months at the time of this posting. *LEMON ALERT* *LEMON ALERT* *LEMON ALERT* *LEMON ALERT* *LEMON ALERT* *LEMON ALERT* *LEMON ALERT*

Weakness:

*LEMON ALERT* *LEMON ALERT* *LEMON ALERT* *LEMON ALERT* *LEMON ALERT*
Terrible brakes with NO WARRANTY ON THEM, car is a sh*t-box that's always stalling and the dealers after 4 trips cannot fix it, more squeaks and rattles than all the cars I owned perviously combined, rough ride, uncomfy seats, noisy engine and interior, noisy sunroof, crappy stereo (6-speakers/CD). Car was so badly aligned at factory that tires were screwed at 10,000 km. ABS is absolutley terrifying, transmission leaks (dealer says it ain't but I had to top it up a couple times) and the tranny grinds up and down into 3rd gear, and reverse. *LEMON ALERT* *LEMON ALERT*

*LEMON ALERT**LEMON ALERT**LEMON ALERT**LEMON ALERT**LEMON ALERT*
Leasing the sh*tbox here....$18,600 was the window sticker here in Canada...WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ONE OF THESE CARS TO ANYONE, EVEN MORTAL ENEMIES!*LEMON ALERT**LEMON ALERT**LEMON ALERT**LEMON ALERT**LEMON ALERT**LEMON ALERT*

Strength:

Good acceleation makes the car fun to drive. I relly enjoy the lower profile tires. Stock stereo good, easy to intall upgrades (speakers, ect.)
Car is very sporty, kinda looks like a baby Firebird.

Weakness:

Brakes make weird noises, not sure why. Remote entry testy, even after I changed battery in remote. Power windows slow, problem with motors/regulator. Tires cost 195+ to replace and rims look like crap, needs upgrade rims bad.

I paid 12000 for the car, the dealer wanted 13300. I would defintly reccomend this car to anyone on a limited budget who doesn't want to be stuck driving a Pinto or a ECHO. The car is very sporty and worth the money I paid. Gas milage is good with the 2.4lt average about 350+miles per 15 gallon tank. Comfortable commuter and sporty enough to be proud to cruise the strip.

Strength:

I like the automatic top. Gets decent gas mileage.

Weakness:

Already explained above.

I bought this car used from a dealership. I have had nothing but problems with this car. The week after I bought it, I found out it had an oil leak. I had to have the transmission completely rebuilt after one year of owning this car. Cost-$1200. The air conditioner SOMETIMES works. I have had the ac looked at twice. The back window had to be completely resealed.

Strength:

Good on gas. Reasonably priced

Weakness:

This car nearly killed me twice. The first time the brakes failed completely coming up to a line of traffic stopped at a light - they replaced the ABS regulator under warranty. The second time the brakes failed completely coming down a mountain road - they replaced the master cylinder at my cost. Both times could have been disasterous had I not had the quick response to gear down and use my emergency brake. I am getting rid of this car ASAP - before it succeeds.

Paid $16,900 Canadian - Would I recommend it - NO!!!

Model Reviewed: Sunfire 5 Speed Coupe

Strength:

Great acceleration and gas usage. The A/C has worked great for me, only a few seconds after I get into an oven I've got cool air blowing and off I go. Seats are nice and comfy, exterior is sporty and traction is good in winter (for acceleration, braking a little weak).

I came from a 3 cylinder Chevy Sprint - I was looking for a 4 cylinder car with a bit of pep and sport to it, my search led me to the sunfire (just a little better than the chevy cavalier to the eye). Things I wanted in the car: A/C, CD Player, Manual Transmission, Good Gas Mileage, 4 Cylinders (no more, no less) Affordable. Got 'em all, in a color I like too :)

Weakness:

Drink holder is in an awkward position, back seats don't have much head room (but hey it's a coupe!). ABS is bit noisy and I'm not sure it helps a whole lot. Stereo display (CD model) is starting to get "confused" and displaying weird characters sometimes - but it's passed warranty (I drive a lot) so I'll live with it (only happens like once every month or 2).
In the first 2 months I had a fuel pressure sensor replaced in the fuel tank, ever since it's been fine. I was rear ended after having it for a year, dealership did the rebuild and it looks as good as new (paint matches and everything). The plastic covers on the front seat seatbelt pivot point (up above the shoulder on the wall of the car) have broken off from people getting in and out with backpacks etc. The plastic cover on the trunk release has also busted off just from me getting in and out, don't ask me how.

Price Paid: $21,000 Canadian (Brand New, after tax in BC)

I would definitely recommend it to other people who are looking for a peppy ride with good fuel economy.

Strength:

Looks sporty.
5 drink holders!
Mileage.

Weakness:

Poor accelleration.
Poor passing accelleration.
Lots of roll on curves - poor handling in general.

I had this car as a rental for 2 weeks touring Eastern Canada. It never really gave me any problems, but it was no fun to drive. Over 120Km/h on the highway was like driving a drum set...rattle, rattle...with lots of side to side roll as well.
It gives no sense of security or solidity.
Overall, an OK car, but no world beater.
