Strength:

None, it has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Weakness:

Everything, from the way the unibelt works down to the dogbones that hold the motor in place

Man this car is piece if you know what I mean, and you probably do. I have had no good experiences with this car. I can't begin to list the problems that have occured, but here are a few.
1. The computer went bad
2. The interior rotted out
3. The tilt steering broke
4. The transmission went bad and at the same time the catalytic converter melted.
Do not buy a grand prix made from 1988 to 1997 they are prone to leave you stranded. Please heed my advice I've suffered enough for all of society with this turd bucket.

I haven't used anything similar other than a 1991 nissan maxima but putting a grand prix in the same category as a maxima is like putting a pinto in the same category as a bmw.

Strength:

Looks great. The paint quality is excellent and there is so much plastic on the body I don't think it will ever show rust.
Low maintenance. With the exception of the brakes I've had to do very little to keep the car running: replaced fuel pump @ 109,000 miles, replaced original tires at 70,000 miles with another set purchased around 120,000, replaced the alternator at about 100,000 miles, and I've replaced the plugs and belt once, changed transmission fluid, and changed oil regularly.
Gas mileage keeps getting better!

Weakness:

The brakes are awful, but you get used to it after a while.
Miniquad headlights are ridiculously expensive.
You must replace the entire foglamp assemlbly if you break the lens because that is all the dealers will sell you!

Great car!
I have no complaints about the car with the exception of the brakes- the rotors consistently warp within 2-4 months of installation and the pads need to be replaced annually. You'd think the aftermarket scene could come up with something to help remedy this.
Acceleration, power, and handling still good but with 130,000+ miles it is beginning to show its age.

Strength:

Fast, 2 doors(most have 4), supercharged, etremely quick for a V6, its a Pontiac,

Weakness:

Rattle rattle rattle, not crazy about white rims, but it was the only 2 door there coulda upgraded to chrome plated but it was more expensive, tires are to small needs to be wider for less spinng plus quality of rubber on tire is to hard for it thats why its so easy to spin out, stereo is garbage and any1 that does think it is good must have low quality standards, W-Body yeah right, its not that for one and secondly if wider is better for handling why is it that I can barley corner off of the freeway. I have seen alot of these cars come in for repairs at the dealership(I work at) and I am considering trading it in for a truck they both are the same in weight anyways

Quick car for what it is

Weakness:

cheap paint. very cheap paint.

I have overall been nothing but happy with the car. The paint seems to be a bit cheap, had to repaint the hood because of excessive rock chips. I didnt want to get a bra though, to me it takes away the sleekness of the car. Even the naturally aspirated 3.8 GT is fast. I love embarassing euroed out Jap cars that think theyre fast. Recently had an encounter with a Acura Integra on a strip of highway. He couldnt keep up with me top end. Also test drove a Taurus SHO, but it wasn't as cool or fast as the GT.

Strength:

Great power
Sexy looks
plenty of room
Nice interior (leather)
HUD is the greatest thing ever invented

Weakness:

Reliable, but when things go bad... $$$

My father bought this car new as a company car and I bought it from him. It has 95,000 miles on it but runs like it's brand new. All warranty work has been done on it and it runs like a dream. It is one sharp car! Everyone and their brother has a 'stang or Camaro, the Grand Prix combines power, style, and individuality all into one sleek body. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to stand out and have fun making V6 Mustangs cry.

Strength:

Great factory stereo
Powerful
Handles well
Rides nice
Good gas mileage for a 12 year old car
Interior is awesome (leather bucket seats all around)

Weakness:

Everything broke when i got the car so I had to put a little $$$$ into it..

I drive this car everywhere. Its a pretty solid car, with lots of care it has remained in almost perfect condition. Other than a few accidents that have needed to be repaired, and you cant even tell if you get it done at the right place, the car looks almost brand new yet. There is no more than a spot of rust on it. If you keep up on all the engine tuneups and oil changes the car wil run like a dream. Mine has 143,000 niles on it and still runs great. It really is a great buy.

The speed is awesome, The looks ar better than the new grand prix, and is a real head turner plus the room of the car is fantastic.

Weakness:

Replacements: Tranny, alternator, timing belt, brake pads, O2 sensor, vaccum line, oh yea strange rattle from some where still haven't found it! The Speed limiter has got to go on this car. I got beat a turbocharged eclipse that was modded becuase of that limiter. I was in front by a ways when I noticed the car could not go any faster than 115 and he caught up and went by!

I love the car, especially the power the 3.4 liter has! Don't understand why someone would buy a new one though when the 1995 is faster. I have yet to be beaten by a new GTP. The brakes are great since replaced and the transmission is good to since replaced. I love this car and would tell anyone to get one becuase they are really fast and corner great for a front wheel drive. Just could of used the rear wheel drive!

Strength:

reliable engine(180k), no smoke or leaks, a.c. still works, paint good. Car has a good ride and is pretty roomy and quiet.

Weakness:

As other people have stated, the rear disc brake design sucks, what were they thinking? The interior is odd looking, almost like an afterthought. No cupholders, smoking steering column, squeaky driver side window.

I think the car had a lot of features for the price I paid. I owned two BMWs' before buying this car and will say that the Pontiac is much more reliable. It's still an american car and will probably never handle or drive as well as Jap/Euro cars but I don't have to pay a zillion dollars to fix it. The engine is fairly powerful and extremely reliable, have no complaints in the drivetrain section at all. Paint is good considering all the G.M. paint problems people experienced in the late 80s'-early 90s'. I'm not in love with the car because frankly,it has no sex appeal whatsoever. But, it has alot going for it in the bang for your buck department.

pretty quick off the line for an auto. love the looks and heads turn

Weakness:

been in the shop most of the 2 weeks I have owned it

So far for the 200 or so miles that I have gotten to put on it I think I luv it.Even though its in the shop getting a new head due to a stripped plug hole ( dealer is paying for it) I have enjoyed the litle time with it.
Mine has a weird option package the premium wheels, basic cassette, dealer installed power roof, basic seating vs: the full power sport cloth or leather. etc....
