Strength:
perfect blend of comfort and performance. Supercharged 3.8 quiet and efficient for sensible driving yet lots of torque for stop light drags.
Weakness:
would like more hp. For this reason i'll probably buy formula firebird next summer. four door model great for family hauling or hauling a**. supercharged engine not an insurance liability as opposed to turbo's or v8's in sporty cars. no major mechanical problems in 5 years of driving two different gtp's Similar Products Used: 1988 quad 4 calais was fast little car. gtp more reliable and comfortable |

Good Handling, after i put EAGLE RS-A's on, like the acceleration but my Eagle Talon TSI was much quicker, I like all the lights but you cannot change the bulbs in the fogs to super whites. stereo controls are a definite plus even though one of the tube lights went out. Body styling is very nice.
Weakness:
It may be KIND of quick for it's size but my brother's bonneville is bigger and much faster. Stock Brake Pads are cheap and wear quickly.I always try to find aftermarket parts to improve power and speed on the net but i'm never successful. This is my fifth car and out of the five both gp's have been the biggest pains. GP's don't come in 5 speeds. I would reccommend this car or any newer GP because they handle, look, and ride nice. Although when you buy one all stock there is room for improvement, they may be quick for the size but unless your supercharged your not going to whip a z28 or cobra Similar Products Used: 1st car was 89'thunderbird- i didn't have it long but for 150000 mi. it handled nicely and had few problems |

Strength:
Smooth, quiet ride. Comfortable interior, great handling. The automatic shifter is the best I have used, it will actually let you red line!
Weakness:
The heated and power seat option is not available on the passenger side. I would definately recommend this car it is a mean looking powerful luxury car with the best value in its field. I got this one at a great 2.9 over 5 years, it was also offered at .9 over four, this is unbeatable by its european and Japanese competitors! I also like the fact that you can buy the GT model and put an after market super charger on it and get yourself a whopping 300 horses. High ho silver! Similar Products Used: Nissan Maxima - Both nice cars with similar options, the Maxima is more luxurious but the interest rate is high. |

PILO O' CRAPPO!!!!!!!!! General Motors has gone waaaaaaaaay down hill. This car is extreemly cheaply assembled. The plastics are garbage. I have had nothing but constant trouble with the car for the 2.5 years that I owned it. Everything feels like it is going to fall apart. It only has 60k on it , (36,000 miles for you americans) The car was taken from me in a hail storm in 1996, and I was filled with joy!. I will not return to a GM product. Ive tasted the Toyota , I am NOT GOING BACK!!! The americans will never build a car like the japanese! , im TOYOTA 4 LIFE !!. I love the way it handles, it stays glued to the street even if it is fairly wet out. I also love the way it excelerates, it will go from 60 to 120 just like it were going from 0 to 60, much like a corvette.
Weakness:
It does not have a pause on the cd player, and twice I've locked my keys in it because the doors automatically lock when running. I would recommend this car to any one looking to travel in style & comfort. You get the best of both worlds with this car you get the speed & performance of a sportscar, yet with the room & comfort of a sedan. Similar Products Used: None |

Great power (240bhp)
Weakness:
lack of real performance tires Bought new in 98 paid close to $28,000. Overall good investment. This car can really move considering size and provides decent cornering. Cornering prowess, I image, would be greatly improved with decent tires. Supercharger is great, really makes for quick passing once up to speed. Plenty of room for 5 adults. Can't think of a better value in it's class. Complaints and few and not major. Would strongly recommend this vehicle to anyone. I image with minimal aftermarket accessories, mainly tires, it's shortcomings would become a thing of the past. BUY ONE. car runs like a dream. with a couple of hundred bucks in aftermarket toys, i'm around 300hp. no problems whatsoever, but car is babied. i''n not afraid of any stock mustangs or z28's with my 4 door "family car". stereo is excellent for a stock unit, and cd changer rarely skips.
Weakness:
stock tires are junk. i've burned mine off and bought appropriate performance potenzas. had to add rubber spacers under the rear wing to prevent chipping of paint. leather could be better quality. added strut tower brace to improve handling. would reccomend buying this car to anyone who can afford to buy, insure, and fill the tank pretty often. Weakness:
Rattles Definitely recomend the car. The engine is a work horse and is very durable. I belong to ClubGP.com and everyone agrees that the 3.8 is a strong engine. The car has awesome acceleration with a big potential for modifications. Looks are aggressive. No problems yet. Can't wait until 2003 redesign comes out to see if Pontiac could possibly improve on this car. Similar Products Used: 2001 Acura 3.2 CL Type S - very similar performance wise, CL is more luxury oriented. |

Strength:
It is roomy for a tall person. The heads up display is quite nice as are the steering wheel controls.
Weakness:
The vehicle has a hesitation problem that the dealership can't seem to rectify. Thus, I am being stonwalled and my vehicle is not being fixed. I have had many problems with this car since the date of purchase. Visit www.mypontiacsucks.com to better understand the scope of my problem with Pontiac and GM. I would NOT recommend this vehicle to anyone. I would not recommend purchasing a GM vehicle after the treatment and complete lack of service that I have been shown. Similar Products Used: The 6-year old Toyota I traded in ran better and had fewer problems then this new car. |
