Sounds great inside and out. The bose audio system is the first perfect sounding factory stereo i have heard yet. The extra 40 horses does add a little to the speed as well as enhances the sound durring acceleration

Weakness:

Can't turn the head lights off at night, i don't know why they even put the headlight switch in to begin with as i've never touched it. Daytime running lights durring the day, and full lights at night as long as the keys are in the ignition. The other would be, they did away with the performance/ economy shift switch. it's in performance all the time which isn't too bad....:)

I have had no problems at all. Every feature is perfectly positioned to the driver. the onstar system is an excellent add on for those who travel. you have all the info and directions at the push of a button. the steering wheel controls are perfect as well as the heads up display. the radio display also displays in the HUD. the back seat is very roomy as well as comfortable. this car was perfectly thought out and very well designed.

Strength:

Cool looking, powerful, reliable (so far). Nice stereo.

Weakness:

Annoying unidentifiable rattles and buzzes, cheap interior buttons and finishes, "busy" radio/temperature controls, wimpy trunk, noisy wind sounds at high speeds. Sun roof shade has flexed and can't be closed easily. Engine light turns on and off at random. Tires suck in the winter.

We've been leasing this car for over two years now. This car has a nice heavy feel to it while providing lots of power and rev. Even in the four door, it has a nice sporty shape to it without comprimising headroom and function.(Mind you, if you see this car without the rear spoiler it looks naked and wimpy). As the proud owner of a 6 month old daughter I feel like one cool mama driving this car!

The stereo speakers provide good bass and sound even at voice drowning volume. The stereo controls on the steering wheel are handy especially since the main controls would cause you to drive off the road trying to adjust them. The leather interior looks a little cheap, but I love it mostly because I don't get shocks from my car everytime I exit it like I do with just about every car with an upholstered interior. This in turn saves wear and tear on the car door because now I don't have to kick it closed in fear of getting another shock.

For the first few weeks that we had the car I found that it was difficult to judge the size of the car while maneuvering it, especially while backing up. I no longer leave 5 feet between the car and the parking walls, but it is still difficult to see everything around this car. The front end of this car is fairly low to the ground and the plastic bumper tends to scrape on the ground when leaving certain building centre parking lots......

The tires provided with this car suck in the winter. This is the first vehicle for which I have demanded winter tires. The snow tires make all the difference in the world. If you live in a high snowfall region, I would highly recommend them.

Very expensive tire rim. Don't hit any large stray stones in construction areas on the highway. It COULD wreck the rim of your wheel and you COULD pay $800(CDN) to have this replaced.

Don't wait until winter to replace the wipers. The wipers that come with the car are terrible. The temperature control panel is confusing and difficult to fiddle with while driving (no accidents YET). Spend some time figuring out the temperature control before you are hurtling down the highway at 130kmph. Knobs and buttons look cheap and some pull off easily. Things are starting to rattle and make annoying noises. At highway speeds there seems to be an excessive amount of wind noise. This car does make quite a bit of "rev" noise, but my husband says this is cool. The interior door panel on the back passenger door is pulling away from the metal. The sunroof is nice, but the pull out shade is cumbersome as it has flexed somewhat and it catches on itself. The lock on the flip down seat between the trunk and the car broke within weeks of owning the car. Now if there is ever anything heavy in the back and the brakes are applied rather suddenly, it knocks down the back rest and flies into the car (i.e. car battery).

As with most cars, the gas guage hardly moves for the first 200km and then it quickly moves to empty. Mileage? Who cares. This car was not bought as an econo car. Annoyingly, our engine service light turns on and off at random, but never when it's in being serviced.

Overall....this has been one powerful, reliable sporty car but with quite a few crappy finishing details. My husband, an auto parts dealer, admits he's leary of buying a car like this for the long term. This car would be expensive to maintain. Now into our third year of use however, this car has been without any major problems but the minor ones are adding up.

1995 Grand Prix SE?..... The 1999 GT is definitely a much cooler car. Everything about the 1995 was squishy and wimpy from the seats to the brakes to the ride.

Looks long and sleek

Weakness:

Don't get me started. Bad brakes, blown head gasket, heavy, not enough power, bad oil filter location, bad battery location, cheap looking Pontiac climate controls and radio buttons, busted power steering pump, shot A/C compressor, broken cooling fans...i think that's it

I liked it at first...before it started breaking down on me. Now I can't wait to get rid of it and buy German.

GREAT ride
Radio controls on sterring wheel
Comfort
Quick of the line and through turns
Awesome in the snow and rain

Weakness:

I have put an extreme amount of money in the car. The car kept breaking down on me afther 50,000 miles. There is no longevity to owning this car.

I absolutely love this car very much. Driving it is an absolute experience. Quick off the line and handles hard through the turns. I question the amount of money I had to put into the car to keep it running.
After 50,000 miles everything totally broke down. Even though I love the car, I unfortunately don't think I won't be able to drop that amount of money on a new Grand Prix.

Strength:

rare, power(205hp), very fast, handling, brakes are ok

Weakness:

rare, exhaust crossover pipe cracks very easily, car is very heavy, power steering feels heavy, not much aftermarket stuff, kinda "quirky"

The Turbo Grand Prix (TGP) was made in 89 and 90 only, with the help of Mclaren engines and ASC for the body kit. The car has a turbocharged and intercooled 3.1L V-6 with a 4 speed auto. This car is fast, not blindingly fast, but still fast. 0-60mph in 7 sec. This car handles like a dream when you get to know it. I have heard these cars have a few problems, I only have one of them right now. The crossover pipe that connects the exhaust manifolds to the turbo cracks very easily causing the car to stall and loose some power, i currently have this problem. These cars came with 4 wheel disc brakes and ABS, its a good set up when it works, i guess the ABS brain goes out like whenever it "feels" like it and then you dont have ABS, and its expensive to fix. I am lucky and my brake system works perfectly. These cars came loaded, power everything and a heads up display-very cool. The back seats are bucket seats but there isnt much leg room. I love the sun roof, pops up for vent, or slides back. Only 2 colors were offered, black or red, i have a red one. The car over heats easily because the Garret T-25 turbo is water cooled, and when you use the turbo it heats up the coolent to much if your coolent system isn't up to par, i recomend getting the coldest thermostat you can find. My car has over 100,000 miles and still runs strong, doesnt leak or burn oil. This is not my only car and if you are looking for a car, dont buy one of these as your only car. But, if you want a rare and fun car, I recomend a Turbo Grand Prix. if you have questions, please e-mail me: asylumkeeper7@aol.com, or asylum_keeper@hotmail.com

First off, let me say that my family bought this car in 1994 with 50,000 miles on it, and it now has 202,000 miles on it! It still runs awesome and the tranny is still smooth. A very comfortable car to take on long road trips.

Weakness:

From 50,000-85,000 miles, heres what we've replaced:
Computer, power seering rack, water pump, alternator, several other things. The disc brakes need changes constantly, very poorly designed.

A good runner, after you replace everything in it.
