Brakes. Service Engine Light

Lots of miles, lots of problems. I appear to have the same problems as most owners: Brakes as often as oil changes Driver Side Power Window regulator Trim work Service Engine light on and off. Scan tells me it is Transmission Noisey wheels/brakes and to top is off I bought BLACK, What an idiot!

Good acceleration. Great body design.

Gas gauge does not seem accurate. By the time I have approximately 200 miles on a 14 gallon gas tank, it is only telling me I have used 1/4 of the gas. So instead of watching the fuel, I am watching my trip meter.

I love my Grand Am GT1. I have only had a few problems with it so far. The weather stripping was replaced twice. Torque converter needed replacing because the car would shake while accelerating. And there are some very minor squeeks and rattles. The car was initially a demo and needed some body paint repair. Since then I have been very paranoid about paint chips!

This car has been to the dealership 6 times to correct a alignment problem, that the service deptment claims that there is nothing wrong. Tires are warped and bounce at high speeds (they have been balanced 4 times and they say that there is nothing wrong). If I would have seen this site before I purchased my car, I would have NOT bought the GrandAm. We the consumer experience the problem and have to prove it to the service dept? I am NOT happy with the service Pontiac has.

This car has spent almost more time in the shop than on the road.

Brakes & rotors every year since new, replaced tranny, replace hub assembly, front bushing went-have to replace whole front end, front axles replaced-one twice, intake manifold gasket blew, tensioner pulley for serpentine blew, heater core went, fuel guage doesn't work, regulators on both front windows gone, gas tank leaks, too many things to list-something new every six months. Million dollar car!!!! GM ought to RECALL THESE CARS ALL TOGETHER!!!

This is the worst car I could ever buy. Just when you think you've got everything fixed something else goes wrong.

I Must be extreamly lucky or something because everyone has had problems with thier grand am and I couldnt be more happier with mine. First of all my car is a 96 2 door SE with a inline 2.4 DOHC. My car is an olympic edition car. it has 4 gold rings on the side and has an american flag. ive never seen another car like it. I bought my car for 3700 dollars and the car had 70K miles on it. A year later to date it has 103k and i think it runs beter then it did when i bought it. The only things ive had to do to it was i replaced the front struts and had 2 new brake pads put on. Thats it, other then that the car runs great. I put a nice exaust and air filter on, new spark plugs, and tinted windows. I have a 5 speed. the car is fast...I run a 0-60 in 8.7 secs. Im not bullsh*ting either. the new V6 runs a 0-60 in like what, 8.5 i think? I think i got a great deal on my car. I love the 96 grand Ams

Attractive body style, won 1st place in a Pontiac show last year in my class, this year took 2nd place.

Noticed orange peel in paint as soon as I got it plus must have used cheap paint because of all the things I had to have repainted. Too many repairs, I'll be broke!

I got my car as a birthday present 3 years ago I was thrilled now I'm disappointed. First mirrors got ugly had to be repainted, then spoiler got ugly, had to be repainted. I'm at 50,000 miles just in the month & 1/2 had to replace Serpentine belt, Water Pump & battery. Now the Body Control Module has gone out I can't lock doors manually & horn honks when it wants to even when I'm not in the car. I thought I would have the car a long time but I'm ready to dump it!!

I will never buy another car like this again. It is the worst car I have ever had in my life.The brakes make noises, the gas gage is all messed up, the rotors are terrible,the window molding is starting to bubble, and now the window regulators are out in both windows, causing the windows to not go up or down. So now tell me what is so great about this car.NOTHING! I take very good care of my car and it shouldn't do things like this. The best thing for this car would be to run it into a tree.
