Strength:
Lots of room. Seats 5 adults comfortably. It has lots of storage space, and lots of little cubby holes to stick stuff in. Seats are very comfy, too. I like all the wizz-bang stuff they put in, like when you unlock the door with the remote, the radio is playing whatever you were last listening to, regardless of who has previously drive.
Weakness:
Gas mileage. After reading some of these reviews, I'm starting to be REALLY glad I bought the extended warranty Great vehicle. I love it. It has a smaller turning radius than my old Dodge Intreped. I only have 28,000 miles on it (bought new) and am starting to have problems. It's in the shop now having all 12 lifters and push rods replaced, as well as the fuel pressure something (to fix a gas leak). Also having rear hatch mechanism replaced. Glad I bought the extended warranty. Having problems with acceleration. I have had a problem with the "check engine" light coming on after getting gas, but that was solved with a new gas cap & turning the cap for several clicks. The "paint" on the rear tailights is fading and peeling, but that's not covered under any warranty. Similar Products Used: Currently renting a Jeep Liberty. Boy is it small! |

Space, comfortable ride.
Weakness:
Gas mileage This is a car with a lot of space. I've read the reviews about this vehicle saying it was ugly. I asked my 5-year-old daughter what she thought. She said "it's so ugly that if I have any boogers, I'll wipe my boogers on the car." We had a good laugh. |

Excellent handling, Lots of room, great gas milelage.
Weakness:
Rear hatch release needs adjustment. I Love my Aztek, and I'm very picky about the car I drive. I went to trade my Gran Prix for a new one when I noticed the Aztek on the lot. After driving it I was amazed how good the handling was. It was actually comparable to the Gran Prix. I like the looks, who wants to see themselves around every corner. My 12 year old has already claimed it as her own when she turns 16. |

Strength:
Roomy enough for a family. Lots of room for car seats and stroller. Nice Radio.
Weakness:
Everything Else! Unfortunately I owe more on this car than I'd ever get out of it if I tried to sell it or trade it. I'm counting down the days till it's paid off so I can get rid of it. Where do I begin... had front wheel bearings replaced twice already. Replaced rear rotors before 15k miles. Air compressor never worked. Cooling system leaked. Intake gaskets leaked. Oil pump quit. Heater quit. Driver's door has a lot of wind noise. Rear hatch rarely works, can't open it at all right now. Had hatch fixed last week at my Pontiac dealer, they worked on it for two days, fix lasted less than 5 days, it's stuck shut again. This car has been in the shop way too often. Aside from Mechanical problems... the "tail gate" design of the rear hatch is awkward. Nice big trunk space, but difficult to access because of the tailgate. I have a sliding tray in there, but it's still awkward. The console is also awkward. It's a cooler. Kind of a neat idea on the rare occasion you need a cooler in the car, but not very functional every other day. Irritating that it won't stay open when you're trying to find something. You have to hold it open with one hand and dig around for your CD's, sunglasses or whatever with the other (impossible to do while driving). Very poor visibility in every direction except straight ahead. Ordered this car and took delivery in June of last year. Ordered the camping package with the car. Looked forward to a summer of camping. Camping package was back-ordered for 7 months. Missed that summer. This is the first Pontiac I've owned. Because of my experience with this car and the less-than-satisfactory service I've received from my local dealer, this will be the last Pontiac I'll own. Strength:
Lots of interior room. Great gas mileage...average 22 on hilly terrain! (I don't creep along, either!) Good sound system, other than the noisy radio at times.
Weakness:
See above! Many problems. GM won't stand behind their product. A/C problems (condenser); bad brakes; lift hatch malfunctions; lift hatch arms don't work anymore; lumbar knob falls off; shifter panel wrinkles/jams; dead battery cell; driver's power window switch won't work; radio makes strange sounds at times; electrical problems...the list goes on.... Similar Products Used: Have owned BMWs, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Cadillac, numerous other vehicles, including trucks. Most similar was the Geo Tracker. Only thing more a POS than this is the 95 Ford Probe we got for our teenagers to drive. But, even IT has an a/c that works! |

Pontiac Aztec Front Wheel Drive
Strength:
Excellent handling around corners. Smooth driving. Quiet engine. Super roomy for driver, passangers and cargo. Great visablity in mirrors and out front window. Lots of power. Great fuel economy for a vehicle of its size. Comfortable seats. Air pump in the back. Lots of storage area in doors. Stereo system wonderful.
Weakness:
Rear window gets dirty and you must rely on your mirrors. Difficult to shoulder check due to moldings. Insurance rates very expensive. Have had problems with the rear hatch and battery had bad cell which needed to be replaced. Difficult to install car starter. I love my Aztec! Was looking at mini vans and SUV's but when I rented the Aztec for a week, I fell in love with it and knew it was the perfect vehicle for me. Unique look, roomy and love hatch and storage in back for groceries. Easy to get into and high. My two year old can see out the windows. So far to soon to tell, but feel will trade up after two years, hope offers good experiences during the two years.
Weakness:
Not an SUV. I call it my Wanabee. It wants to be an SuV. All in all feel it will be like any used vehicle, just with its own unique bugs. So far I like it. It is affordable and neat looking. It is like an SUV without the price tag. It has a personality of its own and fun. I have not had long enough to be afraid, but have ninty warrenty from dealership, have another year on factory warranty and plan to extend warrenty at 35,000. Plan to keep a couple of years and trade for a bigger SUV. Feel it will serve its purpose and have to take each day one at a time. Sounds like rolls back on hills, air goes out, problem with rust and computerized doors. So far this is not an issue for me and will deal with as comes. I like the look, price and size. Have had a Chevy Lumina for five years, little problems such as battery, alternator and breaks. Fell and hope new Aztec is of same quality, but at least same monthly payment and still underwarranty. I believe I will have fun. Only time will tell. Similar Products Used: First of its kind |

To close to the ground to actually go anywhere off road. I live in a large city and still have issues getting radio stations I like all of the room, gas milage is good enough for a suv. But it's not good when actually going off into the wilderness as they advertise. Similar Products Used: Blazer, Jeep Cherokee |

Strength:
Definetely roomy exterior. It handled nicely when it ran.
Weakness:
Rolling back when you are on a hill. Reminds me of a standard transmission. Huge mechanical problems. I will never buy an Aztec again!!!! I have had my Pontiac Aztec for approx. nine months and have had it in the shop for over a month now. The original problem started when my check engine light came on and I needed to have it serviced. Two weeks later, my transmission went. My car only had 13,000 miles. After reading these reviews, I'm a bit nervous as to what's going to happen next. Yikes!! Similar Products Used: Jeep Cherokee |
