Strength:

Value, roomy inside, easy on tires.

Weakness:

Interior road noise. Most of these cars with 2.4L engines have the head gasket problem (which was an assembly issue in the plant in Mexico. . . )

Bought new. (Buy American, my wife says. . .)It has a very nice look, with a roomy inside and adequate 2.4L motor. It flys along at freeway trips well and gets almost 30mpg on long drives w/premium gas. The Cylinder head gasket went at 40K miles, but was fixed under warranty even though it was past guarantee, (Thanks Chrysler)The sound system is terrific so I added a 10 disc CD to it and it rocks! Original battery is almost 5 years old. only grumps are the road noise inside, and a weak AC system.

Strength:

NONE!

Weakness:

EVERYTHING!

This car has been nothing but trouble! Factory demo with 25,000 miles on the odometer when purchased in 99. Car now has 96,000 miles. Transmission went out at 72,000 miles, cost $1800 to repair. Water pump died at 79,000 miles, $475 to repair. Has a chrarging system problem, I have bought two new batteries in only 3 years! Yesterday the oil pump went to heaven which in turn caused the engine to bite the dust. Estimate I got today was $2100 for a rebuilt engine! Loud rattles, poor gas milage, lackluster air conditioner, cassette player died a year ago, low front air dam that drags on speed bumps, poor acceleration, both brake rotors have been replaced, steering wheel vibration at speeds above 65mph! TAKE MY ADVICE AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS CAR!!

Strength:

Enough power for me, I know I can peel out and squeel the tires. Obviously if someone is not satisfied with the engine, anyone who has logic would of thought of that before buying.

Weakness:

The only weakenesses for me would be the parts that have been replaced and fixed. Ecspecially for a car thats only 2 years old, not impressive. No matter what all cars have problems some more selective than others.

I love the car in general, good economy car. Good gas mileage, lots of room. But in the year of owning, its been in the shop more than I would think a new car should of. Couple of problems with the fuel tank, good example would be the issue with a fuel pump. Check engine light coming on and such. It came to the point of having the whole fuel system replaced thank goodness it was still on warranty. The heater motor has been replaced, replacing the swith twice just was not a solution. Now off warranty, I'm a little nervous about any further problems, I hope not because any other faulties I've read about this could get exspensive. But maybe thats all that needed to modified if so glad it was under warranty.

Strength:

GOOD FOR PARKING, LOOKS SHARP, BIG TRUNK

Weakness:

WEAK ENGINE, AIR CONDITIONER KILLS THE POWER, FRONT END IS LOW AND ALWAYS HITS THE CURB WHEN PARKING

THIS IS A NICE CAR, IT IS A LITTLE LACKING IN POWER BUT IT IS GREAT FOR PARKING. TODAY I DROPPED IT OFF FOR WHAT I THOUGHT WOULD BE A FEW SMALL REPAIRS REPAIRS, $1,000.00 LATER, 56,000 MILES. IT NEDED A COMPLETE REBUILD ON THE REAR BRAKES, DRUMS, SHOES, CYLANDERS, MOUNTING PLATES, THE WORKS. FRONT BREAK PADS, THERMOSTAT, COOLANT, VALVE SEAL GASKET, SPARK PLUGS AND SEALS, AND A NEW RADIO AS THE OTHER ONE KEPT EATING CASET TAPES. ALSO THERE IS ALSO A STRANGE GURGLING SOUND IN THE RADIATOR THAT HAS BEEN LOOKED AT A FEW TIMES BUT THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEN THERE IS THE LESS THAN 1/4 OF A FUEL TANK THING, IF IT'S BELOW A 1/4 THEN YOU MAY BE OUT OF GAS. I HAVE MAINTAINED THIS CAR VERY WELL AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THAT ANY REAL MONEY HAD TO GO INTO IT.

Strength:

Nice to drive around town so is any small car. Looks nice.

Weakness:

Could have more power. Poor brakes. weak engine. Not much head room. Brake light bulbs always burning out.

The car looks nice but that is about it. I bought my car used. I have always had problems with the brakes. They shudder when braking even moderately. I am always replacing brake pads and have had to replace the rotors once. There are quit a few rattles as well. I think that the fuel pump should have better protection against heating up. You can't always drive around with half a tank of gas. The biggest thing that tics me off is the fact that at 150,00 km, I had to replace an enging. In the manual it says to replace the timing chain at 168,00 km, and I didn't even get that far. I have maintained this car on a regular basis so that shouldn't have had any effect on things. The engine all of a sudden blew apart on the bottom end. Even a well built engine poorly maintained would last longer than that.

I owned a new 1980 Honda Civic. Although I will never buy a small car again. I would go back a run down Honda long before I ever bought another Chrysler product of any sort.

Strength:

I love the colour (deep purple) and the overall exterior look of the car. It's roomy inside and handles well on the road. Under the hood, everything is clearly marked for easy self maintenance. Roomy trunk.

Weakness:

Tall people have a hard time sitting in the front passenger side due to the low roof. Would have been nice to have a seat height adjuster for the passenger as well as the driver. Would be nice if a CD player was included. Front end seems to be lower than most cars, so parking blocks and really slated driveways can be painful.

I love my car! I've read some of the other reviews, and I haven't had ANY of the problems others have mentioned. My car is now at 95,000 and it works like a charm. I replaced the tires about a year after purchase because of personal preference. Have had the usual maintenance as any car owner would (oil changes, etc). Had new front brakes installed at 80,000, without any further problems. No oil leaks, no shaking at high speeds, no transmission problems, nothing. I'm cautious and keep my maintenance up to date, maybe that is why I've had no problems - or maybe I lucked out?!!

Weakness:

transmission and gas per gallon

This car sucks!!! at 60k mi the transmission went out along with 2nd and 3rd gears. The engine is is slipping. This car drinks gas and it didn't use to. The wheel shakes at high speed and it doesn't have any pull on hills. I will never buy dodge again.

Strength:

Good looking abd large trunk.

Weakness:

engine and engine parts!!

I really loved this car when I first bought it. At that time it had 19,000 miles on it. I had to have it in for some minor repairs while under warranty. When it hit 69,000 miles the rear main seal and head gasket went out, I had to lay down a cool $3,000 to fix that. I also had a minor accident and it threw the rear tires out of alignment. The insurance company said that it wasn't caused by the accident. (whatever!) It leaks oil like it is going out of style, tons of rust on the bottom edge of the hood. The A/C does not get very cold anymore. It uses lots of gas now, it used to be good on gas. I must say though I have 139,000 miles on it now and it is still going. (knock on wood!)It would be nice if Chrysler would help to fix these issues that everyone is having. I really like the looks of their vehicles but I will never buy one AGAIN!

Strength:

Power right off the lot with a 2.0, 16 valve engine. Stability and handling. Roominess. Even at high miles, runs strong. Nice looking.

Weakness:

Radio weak. Squeeks accassionally when turning. AC takes a lot of power away. Hard to find upgrade parts.

Overall I love this car. Handles great. Top notch as long as it is a standard. My tip is never buy an automatic if you want any control or to get away from the awful transmision problems and expenses. Had wheel bearing wear that caused a terrible vibration but, when fixed car runs smooth and powerful. I beat on my cars and this can take the abuse, as long as I keep up on the maintanence. Every car has its problems, this has treated me well so far and is average priced for repairs. The room inside is incredible. Having lots of trouble finding upgrade and after market parts for supeing up to make faster and even more stable.
