Nissan 240SX Fastback
Strength:
Fast, powerful, handles well, looks great, comfortable, rear wheel drive, very reliable.
Weakness:
Handles poorly in the snow. If you must drive it in the snow do so slowly and carefully. It doesn't have a cupholder but the ashtray is removable and the space makes a good one. Replacement parts are expensive if it needs work. I bought my 240 for a great price from my neighbor. It needed some work including clutch, brakes and a starter but once I replaced them my car runs very well. It almost feels like a new car and I love the way it looks and handles. It accelerates quickly and sounds great as well. It is 10+ years old and it still can easily reach 100mph without being shaky. I have had no problems getting it started in below zero temps and it is yet to breakdown on me. I have owned other manual transmition cars and this one shifts more smoothly that newer cars I have driven. The interior is sleek looking, not boxy like most of the cars from the early 90's. Everything, including the radio is in easy reach for the driver. It is also very adjustable. I am 4'11" and I can drive it comfortably and my neighbor was 6'3" and he was comfortable too. I would recommend this car to anyone who wants a fast car but doesn't want something too flashy. My only complaint is that the color is mint green, blah. Strength:
Reliable, fun to drive, and good gas milage.
Weakness:
Rear tires go out too soon. When I purchased my 240, the next day I pulled into my school parking lot and pulled a long drift. Everybodoy loved it, even my campus monitor. Since then I've been ripping on my nissan, and it hasn't failed me yet. The mechanical and electrical is still in great shape, with already 128,000 miles. It has a load of torque and horspower, with just a few bolt-ons. I love this car |

Strength:
-Excellent Handling -Good mileage -Looks sexy -Rare model -Can desimate after parts added
Weakness:
-slider -hard to find parts -oversized fanbelt The 95 red 240 was my first car, I immediately noticed the 4 cylinder perfomance was strong and with an edition on a cold air intake and exhaust, the engine sounded like a beast. Rain driving is sketchy and can slide around. Handling is excellent and the gears can be choppy but that comes with practice. It stands up to V tec civics and tricked Integras....good car to throw some money into. Similar Products Used: Nissan Sentra and Ultima (pale in comparison) |

Strength:
Looks cool and sporty inside/out. Good stearing.
Weakness:
Automatic transmission won't shift at times and carbon builds in the engine to the point where it won't pass California smog laws. To fix in the dealer will cost over a thousand dollars. Also, the plastic bumper looses it's paint before the rest of the car does. I wish I could have written something good but unfortunately, the car hasn't been good. I paid $3000 dollars thinking it was a good deal, but when it failed the California smog test, things got expensive. I've added an additional $1300 dollars and it still won't pass the smog test! It's a nice red car like the 93 that's pictured above. It has 106,000 miles. Another problem with the automatic transmission is that it doesn't shift sometimes. Other than that I pray it'll behave and not make me more broke than I am. It would have been better not to have bought it. My Nissan truck is my baby, though! That hasn't failed me since it was new in 92! Similar Products Used: A Nissan pick-up with no problems since it was new in 92! |

Strength:
Rear wheel drive, great interior, intimidating hood, conservative looks, starts up and runs great (Even in Canadian winters), engine does not get hot at all, light, nimble, handles great, gets over 45 mpg, adequate power.
Weakness:
Expensive to fix, one of the worst cars I've seen for a sound system, engine does not get hot at all (very bad in Canadian winters), rear end slides in slippery conditions, not for anyone taller than 6'2" I own the 200SX, basically the 2 litre version of the 240SX. Anyways, I love this car. It's light, nimble, has a decent amount of horsepower (115), rear wheel drive, looks great, nice interior, etc. It's just such a fun car to drive and mine is fully loaded, so I have power sunroof, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, etc. I love it. great on takeoff, decent on gas fun to drive.
Weakness:
hard to find parts, not a 300zx This is my first vehicle and I have had a blast since the day I got it. It handles like a dream. I have done a few mods Injen short ram intake, valve cover, front strut bar,and a few odds and ends. It has 85,000 on engine and ive never had a problem. If this one ever goes I wont hesitate getting another 240. Ive killed v-tech civics, celicas, raced out trucks and stuff that no one cares about. |

It's great handling and racing....
Weakness:
rear wheel drive and to tyte in the back (wink' wink'..... if you know what I mean) Omigosh, I had this car for like a year and 4 month, and it's running great. When I bought it, it had 217,000 kms on it and now it has 289,000 kms and still running great. I bought it at first because it was cheap and I didn't have enuff money before and all I needed it was to last me that summer. I rape civics, integras (except for type R's), mustangs etc. It has new mods. to the interior and under the hood, keyless entry, alarm w/paging syst., $6,000 custom stereo syst., 2 sets of rims 17", weapon R cool air intake, lots of extra, exc. cond., no rust. I love this car so much. I really don't think I would give it up anytime soon. We also have a honda civic SiR, acura integra type R, and a honda prelude sr-v. My mosy fav. one would be the 240 sx. The handling is great. At first my mom didn't know how to drive stick then we taught her in the 240 and she learnt under 2 hours. WOW we were really impressed with the car. |

Amazing Engine. Good suspension. Very good transmission.
Weakness:
easy to loose control if you dont know how to drive Rear wheel. If you can buy a 91 and up... more HP and torque is worth the price. WOW-i was actualy looking for a CRX and not a 240. I didnt even know what i got untill i had it. This car is amazing. Ive been beating it up since day i got it. The motor handles it like its nothing. Rear wheel is awsome too. In 2 years and 55k later no problems at all. I had to replace the break pads and clutch valve and thats all the money i put into it. Its pushing 220k now and i think it needs a new exhaust and alighnemt. 90-93 integras and 92-96 preludes dont compare. This nissan engine is amazing. Currently looking to buy a 93 just for racing. Drifting, great slides, and produce really loud engine sounds (could get annoying).
Weakness:
Wish it had even more hp around 200 or more, i love the car but still expected more out of Nissan. Really want the leather seats. Silvia are the best. OMG I love this car, its just scary like crap to drive during the rain. I love drifting cars and still learning how to. Barely anyone in this city have my year car so its wonderful.
